Yosuke Hanamura Posted August 15, 2017 Posted August 15, 2017 Has it been 1 year already? August 11th, 2016 was a great day for Green Day fans, as Bang Bang was made public after being teased for a long time. This post is made to look back on the day it released. Share your reactions, talk about your hype for the song, and what impact it made on you. Go crazy!!
pacejunkie punk Posted August 15, 2017 Posted August 15, 2017 I first heard it on the radio after the release. I remember my daughter saying, this is the new Green Day song. I liked it immediately. I thought it sounded like their old stuff and it rocked.
Joe K Posted August 15, 2017 Posted August 15, 2017 This caused the biggest hype I've ever had in my entire life for anything. I remember when me and my friend were both trying to listen to different stations to hear to song and then the lyrics video just popped on their facebook page.
Jonas01 Posted August 15, 2017 Posted August 15, 2017 Yeh i remember me sitting in the chair with Spotify on the tv and just waiting for the song to be available. It was my 2nd most played song on Spotify during 2016. I find that great as according to Spotify i sm one of the 1% most biggest listener on Spotify
Yosuke Hanamura Posted August 15, 2017 Author Posted August 15, 2017 I remember getting up around 10 AM that morning. I didn't realize at the moment that it released on Amazon Music, so I was searching page by page online just to find it. After I found out it was on Amazon Music. I loved it, I loved it, I loved it! I must've looped it about 5 times before calling my father while he was working so he could check Spotify. After that I looped it endlessly for the rest of the day. Headbanging, air guitar, you name it! Watching the lyric video on Facebook even furthered my hype for the Rev Rad tour. I was anxious to hear it live for the first time!
Hermione Posted August 15, 2017 Posted August 15, 2017 During the week when they'd told us the title but we hadn't heard the song yet this was constantly in my head It really does seem ridiculous that it's been a year , like I said in the song thread I think it's because GD have given us so much good stuff in that time it's whizzed by. Such a kickass song exploring a dark subject with intelligence and wit, it's great.
The Grohl Posted August 15, 2017 Posted August 15, 2017 Oh man, I just remember all the excitement in the air. I got up early to catch the song on the radio, but when I checked the lyric video was already posted. I ended up listening to it twice. The song just blew me away. It made me so excited for the new album. At the same time I had GDC open so I could join in the conversation. And mostly everyone was so happy and thrilled. It's a good time to look back on. I don't really get that many shared moments when it comes to music anymore, so it was great.
greendepent Posted August 15, 2017 Posted August 15, 2017 Biggest hype in while, just to be follow with the biggest disappointment when the record was released
Alan86 Posted August 15, 2017 Posted August 15, 2017 I remember thinking the vocals aren't loud enough, I can't even hear what Billie is saying. The lyric video helped me get used to it.

Thatsername Posted August 15, 2017 Posted August 15, 2017 I couldn't get it out of my head for days after listening to it for the first time. I still never get tired of this song. And it's so great live, it already feels like a classic. The start of a wonderful Green Day era
Meliciraptor Posted August 15, 2017 Posted August 15, 2017 I have to admit that I almost forgot about GD. When I saw the announcement for the single, I was just happy they are back, but out of some reason I wasn't really into the trilogy or 21st CB so it was more of a "ah, intriguing, gotta check that out"-kind of a reaction. When i heard the song for the first time, I was blown away! It got me really excited for the album. Then RevRad came out, I loved it and immediately bought tickets for the show in Cologne. The rest is history! LOL My relationship with Green Day throughout the years is so weird. I always considered myself a big fan, but actually didn't like 21CB and the trilogy when they came out. I also didn't know many of their old stuff, so I have actually no idea which basis I had for my fandom, hahahaha. When RevRad was released I pretty much went down the (drunk) rabbit hole and got into their whole catalogue. No idea why I was so weird back then, lol.
Zebahar Posted August 15, 2017 Posted August 15, 2017 I woke up at 7 AM because there were radio stations that were playing it, and I planned on streaming one of the stations. The thing was, I woke up an hour before the song was debuted because I was so excited. When the time finally came, I realized my stream was insanely low quality, so all I really heard was the instrumental of the song. It wasn't until they released the lyric video that I could fully experience the song

Tubbie Head Posted August 16, 2017 Posted August 16, 2017 Magical times! Was waiting for the radio, me at home my sister at work on a clothing store with the radio pluged to their amps xD Pure hapiness when heating it! It's still one of my favs from RevRad.
