Jessicabasketcase Posted May 11, 2017 Posted May 11, 2017 Hi!!! I was just wondering if anyone knew the names of some of the roadies & even have any photos.
belinda jane Posted May 11, 2017 Posted May 11, 2017 Arturo is the big bald dude with the beard. I'm not sure who you're thinking of, though. There's also Eddie, who is Billie's guard - he's the one that moves his mic stand all at the time. The only guy I can think of that is the same build as Billie with dark hair that would wear a backpack is Greg, who is the photographer/video guy.

Arturo is literally the coolest security guard around and he's super nice with the fans he recognizes from multiple shows.

I was at the show in Vegas and had a really awesome spot on the barricade (little spot in the corner), I ended up getting sick that day and couldn't really sing along because it hurt so I spent the whole last hour just recording the guys. He came over at one point and started tapping at my phone to try and stop me recording.

And even ones he doesn't! I had a really cool chat with him a few years ago. At least I know who's responsible for false leaks if nothing else
Dirty Rotten Bastard Posted May 16, 2017 Posted May 16, 2017 Arturo is my hero - even if he did tie my hands together in Vegas

He has this 'game' (if you want to call it that) with me where every time he walks past me he slaps the Billie Joe portrait tattoo on my arm...he's been doing this basically every show for the past 26 shows? He explained it to somebody next to me on the barrier once as 'I give her shit every show, but when I don't give her shit she gets mad' - which is basically true. When he was putting the tape down on the stage in Vegas he came over and taped my arms together so I wouldn't be able to move them when Green Day came on stage. He's a dick, but I love him.

Haha fuck, what a smart ass. It makes it so much more enjoyable when their roadies/security are so friendly and willing to chat to fans.

This is great. He slapped my head in Brussels while he laughed at me for going to several shows. I think he really likes us.

In Detroit he came up to me and said 'I heard there was a girl walking around here this morning who had a funny accent and was saying that she was going to all the shows from here until San Diego...and I knew it would be you!'. he's wonderful.

Hermione Posted May 17, 2017 Posted May 17, 2017 I need to look out for that guy next time I'm at a show . All my sister and I do is try to spot Bill Schneider. Best time was at FBHT when he appeared in a purple tracksuit with matching glasses. Also the roadie's band opened that show! They called themselves Hot Mess and that guy Micah Chong was in it (can't remember who else), and they played a couple of songs while soundchecking. Is he still part of their crew? And has the roadie band played at any recent shows? I know that wasn't the only time they've done it.

Same with Kenny - Tre's drum-tech, as I think Tre has a new one now? I haven't seen Kenny at all.
GazzaJAnimal Posted May 18, 2017 Posted May 18, 2017 All Roadies are heroes, cos without them the Rock don't Roll. I wanted to be a Roadie when I grew up, but the trouble is I ain't grew up yet!

The guy who "might" be mistaken for Billie is probably Eden- he's the guy from Eagles of Death Metal (he was actually on stage in Paris) and he's Mike's bass tech this tour. Short, dark, skinny with medium/ longish hair. And a killer bassist during his day job when not Mike's bass tech. Is Arturo Tre's security guard? He is humongous and super intimidating looking but also really cool. When I met them he was mostly hanging around Tre. Eddie is Armstrong security. He looks super intimidating but I met him and he is super cool. When I was with Adrienne she asked if we could go on stage and check out the equipment after soundcheck and he almost laughed- he was clearly thinking "you're Adrienne- uh, yeah of course you can go onstage". I love this thread. There must be another 10-15 in the inner circle of road crew that work every show. They bust their asses every night to make these shows happen, oftentimes on little to no sleep. I've seen firsthand how the "machine" works in the late morning/ early afternoon hours to get the lights/ sound/ logistics set up, and then they pack it down post show and overnight it to the next location. They work hard and definitely deserve more recognition than they receive. The unsung heroes of the tour.
