JardyOfSuburbia Posted May 3, 2017 Posted May 3, 2017 So, I don't have any clue where to post this, but this is a ridiculously crazy story. My dad goes to a barber that's based in Oak Harbor, Ohio. The barber's name is Jerry Bob and my dad's gone to him for years. Anyways, my dad went there today and there was a Rolling Stone issue from September that had Green Day in it. My dad tells Jerry that he just saw them in March and this is where things get crazy...Jerry's daughter left Oak Harbor years ago to move out west where she became a nanny. Turns out she ended up being a nanny for Jakob and Joey! I guess she nanny-ed them for awhile and stuff and the whole story is just ridiculous. I told my dad he needs to get some photos to completely prove it, but this whole thing is nuts. I guess the barber's daughter now works for the Golden State Warriors. Anyways, just had to share this. I know it sounds crazy, but it's too crazy to not be true. Hopefully, the next time my dad goes to get his haircut he can find out some more. I'm sure she's got some great stories!
Billie Joes Eyelids Posted May 3, 2017 Posted May 3, 2017 That is an incredible coincidence. I would love to hear her stories about the boys and also how Billie & Adie were to work for.

Of all the places... Oak Harbor High School was in the same athletic division as my high school, so I was there all the time for volleyball and softball games, and then I covered the school district for a while when I worked for the Sandusky paper. Small world. As you said, I need photo evidence to believe it. Yet at the same time, why would someone make that up?

However, the one thing that is sticking in my brain is that we have obsessively followed these people lives but this is the first time I'm hearing that Joey and Jakob had a nanny.

They've never really revealed many details of their private family life. Doesn't surprise me they would've had a nanny to help out at some point and also doesn't surprise me we wouldn't have heard about it. Cool thing to find out. I'm guessing maybe she wouldn't go into lots of details about it though? It's a trusted position and seems like it would be kind of inappropriate and an invasion of their privacy to spill too many details.
solongfromthestars Posted May 3, 2017 Posted May 3, 2017 That's a crazy coincidence and a cool story! I don't see why he'd make that up, either. I do agree with Hermione though, because it's a trusted position I'd hope she wouldn't say too much tbh. There's nothing wrong with "yeah, they were [insert descriptive word] to work for", but details would be inappropriate without their consent.
Meliciraptor Posted May 3, 2017 Posted May 3, 2017 I'm pretty sure someone working for "celebrities" have to sign an NDA before they can even think about stepping a foot into their homes.

There's one documentary on Youtube where their mailman (who also worked at a radio station) mentions seeing them with nannies. Of course I can't find it now.

I just watched some of it last week. I'm sure they have used nannys at some point. But it seems that overall Adie (and Billie when he isn't touring) has been very hands on.
The Grohl Posted May 3, 2017 Posted May 3, 2017 That's pretty cool! I always love finding out random celebrity encounter stories like that! My mom has one where she saw Barry Gibb walking downtown Chicago in a big fur coat like nobody's business

Yeah, I have about a thousand questions to legitimize the story, but I'll take it on word alone. My dad said he'd talk to the barber more about it next time he goes. Hell, I might go there too.
