Well I don´t know if there´s a topic about this yet. But I saw this and was like OMG. The News-Post above is about an Instagram Post by Charlie Young, a Producer of Crank Recordings, I guess in Perth, Australia. It´s titled "Recording Green Day". Now I´m asking myself what the F they are recording down there...

Maybe demos for new Songs they were creating on tour or just some rehearshing Session.

What do you think???

P.S.: Sorry about the grammar I´m from Germany. And be tender ;) It´s my first created topic

Don't think they are working on a new studio album... Maybe we'll get a album with some C&A songs and some other demos? I have no clue,

I don't think it's something special tbh. He said back on 21st Century Breakdown tour in an interview that that's what he likes to do sometimes in his free time...

I'm fairly certain they were in the studio when they over here during the Trilogy Tour.  I don't think it necessarily means they're writing a new album.

I'm pretty certain Billie Joe just constantly gets ideas for songs in his head, so when they're on tour and inspiration hits from somewhere, they head to a studio to record it.  Then when they get back home they can revisit the songs.

Obviously I don't know if the above is true, but I'd wager that's why they're in the studio.  It would be a bit odd for them to be thinking about a new album while still in the middle of promotion for their last album.  They're releasing their third single from RevRad this month after all lol

Then again, maybe having Trump in the White House has just made Billie extra creative and we're getting a really short turnaround between albums

Now that would be something! I'll be waiting for ''The Day After'' anyway lol...

Means nothing. They are known for going into a studio on their off days during a tour to just record early demos of song ideas. They did it loads during the 21CB tour.

They do seem to be at their most creative when they've got something to be pissed about. ;) And it's not exactly a secret that they aren't fans of their current President

Like I said though, I'm fairly certain it's just recording song ideas when inspiration hits so they can revisit them later.

I think it will have been new music they were recording, but not necessarily working towards an album, just laying down some new ideas possibly? It makes sense to record fresh ideas rather then having them in his mind :)

I think back to that interview they did with (j think?) Deezer towards the end of last year, when Billie said they had a few new songs cooking and it would be nice to get something out sooner rather than later :) so clearly they do have things on the go, but it's probably just casual recording

Thats what i think too. Wasn't that how Youngblood came across? While the 21stBD Tour?

I thought Youngblood was said to be originally on Cigarettes and Valentines?

In terms of what they were recording, I think a new Green Day album is very unlikely, new side-project material is possible but also unlikely, the band or Billie alone (since he's the only one we have photo evidence of) recording for an entirely different project (e.g. collaboration) is slightly more likely, as is the possibility of a standalone single/B-sides.  Most likely, as has been mentioned, is demoing.  Still, as I said in the news post, they were definitely doing something, and that's a hell of a lot more than nothing.

Actually there's a picture the same of Billie above but also with Jason out there too.  So probably both of them were recording something,  together.

How's  that for a guess?!!

Nope. It was started in 2010 and was majorly re-written for RevRad.

I think they are recording something as a present for my birthday.

Billie is recording a special version of Youngblood just for @Scattered Wreck

I heard it's Youngblood with some of KFAD mixed in

Well there's absolutely nothing to do in Perth...what else would they do?

I seem to remember on either trilogy or breakdown tour they recorded some stuff when they were in Melbourne, pretty sure it's either just demos or rehearsals.
