Metadon Posted April 12, 2017 Posted April 12, 2017 Hello guys! I just want to know what do you think about the GD classic intro, when the lights turn off and Bohemian Rhapsody starts. Then Ramones and The good, bad and ugly. I just like it so much!! It fits perfectly. Even now when I hear Bohemian Rhapsody somewhere I have very special feeling! For me, thats the best band preshow thing ever! I always have goosebumbps Who had this idea? Billie?

Other Billie Posted April 13, 2017 Posted April 13, 2017 There's nothing better then singing Bohemain Rhapsody with thousands of GREEN DAY fans waiting for them to hit the stage
amberwhite Posted April 13, 2017 Posted April 13, 2017 We were running super late when I went to see them and the Mr. was trying to reassure me that we had enough time. I told him we had to be there before Bohemian Rhapsody. And if the girl who was directly in front of me recording it is on here, I apologize for my singing which I'm sure ruined your video.
belinda jane Posted April 13, 2017 Posted April 13, 2017 I thought nothing was better than their 21CB intro to be honest. Singing 'Song of the Century' and then the intro to 21CB.. I'm getting goosebumps just reliving it. In saying that though, I can't wait to experience singing 'Bohemian Rhapsody' with thousands of other Green Day fans in 22 days
Marki. Posted April 13, 2017 Posted April 13, 2017 Their current intro is great, I still miss hearing 'Do You Remember Rock'n'Roll Radio' before Green Day come on, though... "...rock'n, rock'n'roll radio, let's go" I still get goosebumps any time a hear it.

I kind of miss YMCA too , can't beat doing that in an arena while watching a drunk bunny dance. I do really love the Bohemian Rhapsody singalong though, it's kind of an obvious/unoriginal thing to do really but it just works so well . Really cool singing it with so many people. With that plus Blitzkreig Bop it's pretty much the most crowd pleasing intro you could have. Still love the bunny too, it's such a fun start to the show. He was wearing a "Who the fuck is Tre Cool?" shirt in London which I also appreciated
MillenniumFan Posted April 13, 2017 Posted April 13, 2017 Yes, their current intro is great. Although it's technically the same one as in 2013, it does somehow seem better this time round. However, the 21st Century Breakdown intro was the best in my opinion. Why? Well, the song itself was the intro and tbh, I really miss that this time round. So, it isn't actually Song of The Century, that really excites me, it's the in intro in 21st. Breakdown. That being said, this intro is more similar to the AI tour, where the song started once they were all on stage and that was also kind of cool. I know this might be a weird comparison to make, but I just remember watching the MTV World Stage 2009 recording and Awesome as Fuck and the build up, that is created before the concert starts is simply huge! Sadly, this kind of thing is out of the question now, because there isn't really a good intro song on Revolution Radio...

I mean they could do the slow part of too dumb to die then break out the Loud full band parts.

I love that the song itself starts before they're actually on stage. and then they come out and Tre hits the snare twice *bum bum* and then mike and billie jump in the air, and then they land *BANG!* fireworks go off as the whole band joins together in the *oooooooooohhhh"s. It was pretty epic. I still like the songs they play now, but they now go out on the stage first, and then start going into know your enemy... not as exciting as 21st cb.
MillenniumFan Posted April 13, 2017 Posted April 13, 2017 @Lauren Exactly! Although mind you, the pyro bang was a later addition, so only starting from may 2010, earlier shows in 2009 and the beginning of 2010 didn't have it. It was epic nonetheless though... Yeah, to give another detailed explanation: -The stage is dark, but the whole arena/stadium is alive and eager -Song of the Century ends (''sing us a song for meeeeeeee'') and then you can here the famous 21st. Century Breakdown chord. -The lights on the stage come on, Tré storms onto the stage (and the catwalk) and throws his drumsticks into the crowd, then preceds to run/jump to his drum kit, the whole arena/stadium is ecstatic. -Mike, Billie and the others come running on. -Tre starts pounding the bass drum, people start clapping in time with the rhythm, the stage lights start flashing -Billie gets his guitar ready and starts jumping/bouncing up and down, warming up for the jump -Tré's drumming gets stronger, Billie runs towards the stage monitor / pedestal thing, lifts of into the air, Tré pounds the snare drum twice, Billie lands, which sets of a massive pyro bang and the whole band jumps into action.
DeJennsitized Posted April 13, 2017 Posted April 13, 2017 I love the Bohemian Rhapsody intro, just because it's not something they forced, they just play it loud and the crowd delivers. The sound of the crowd singing along is the best part. I also miss Do You Remember Rock n Roll Radio - and it would have suited this tour!
St. Jonny Posted April 13, 2017 Posted April 13, 2017 It's quite fun to sing Bohemian Rhapsody with the rest of the fans while waiting, there's a great reaction all around and pumps everybody up and get's them ready to rock! Love it!
Schlappy Posted April 13, 2017 Posted April 13, 2017 I always enjoy my friends reactions to a random pink bunny man dancing on stage. A lot of confusion and seaching for answers where there are none.

unextraordinarygirl Posted April 13, 2017 Posted April 13, 2017 Being in the crowd and around all the awesome people in the pit and singing Bohemian Rapsody was magical! It was so much fun! I will always remember it.

The shot from 3:38 is the best That looks like it was a near perfect intro. That said, Bohemian Rhapsody --> Blitzkrieg Bop --> The Good, The Bad and The Ugly is an absolutely awesome intro to the show - an epic song which everyone can sing along, a song which literally has the line 'Hey, Ho, Let's Go' and picks up the pace as the start nears, and then a wonderful walk on song with a perfect point to launch into KYE, which builds anticipation massively. All songs that people know and a good duration for a build-up, with any longer possibly being a little too long.
Hermione Posted April 14, 2017 Posted April 14, 2017 14 hours ago, G-L-O-R-I-A said: Like this: I love this intro too. Oh yes the best and I was there, I love how this is always posted as an example of a great opening The current opening is exactly the same as it was for the trilogy and it isn't better . Apart from if it was in a smaller venue then and a bigger venue now since it's always going to be more epic singing along etc in a bigger place with more people.
drummerman Posted April 14, 2017 Posted April 14, 2017 For me, the best is from AI when they had the space odyssey theme play as they all took the stage. Epic
MillenniumFan Posted April 14, 2017 Posted April 14, 2017 Well, as I pointed out before, the current intro does have a certain appeal, because: 1. It's a similar setup to the AI Tour --> a certain song plays, they come on stage and then they start playing their own stuff 2. Bohemian Rhapsody and Good, Bad and Ugly are also cool songs. However, I won't deny that, while Know Your Enemy is actually a better opener than 99 Revolutions, American Idiot is a better opener than Know Your Enemy.
