Does anyone know how the band feels about Warning now?

Just curious since I can't find a single recent interview where they mention the album or is asked about it.

They are still playing Minority - so they think about it more than Insomniac:)

And Waiting.

If they're playing songs off of it live, then I'd imagine they feel pretty good about it! And I believe Waiting was added into their setlists as a more frequent song played during the trilogy tour? If that's true, I think it adds on to what I said earlier.

And, considering how much better that album gets with each listen and how awesome it is, I REALLY hope they like it now and add more songs from Warning to their setlists... I mean have they ever even played Deadbeat Holiday live?

I'd say considering they still play Minority and Waiting live often, they feel pretty good about the album. And considering the trilogy at times sounds quite similar to Warning at times, more than their other albums, and the fact that RevRad is just a 12 song album, like Warning, I think they still like making albums like that

I think since it was one of their less successful albums, that is the main reason why they don't play any more songs on it live. However, most people tend to like it now, moreso than when it was released, so I'm sure most of us would be quite pleased to see more Warning songs get played live. I'd like to hear more of Warning, 21CB and the trilogy live. Really out of all their 2000's materials, they just play AI songs, some new RR songs, Minority, Waiting and KYE

@MaraGreenDay posted scans of a new Rolling Stone interview in the Random News-thread and there is also a short note where the band talks about "Minority". Maybe that's interesting in this context: "The 2000 single has taken on a new life live. 'When Warning came out, people were like, what the hell are you doing?', says Dirnt, referring to the band's folky sixth album. 'Now, it's so many Green Day fans' favourite record.'"

It's like they heard us wondering

I don't remember reading anything that suggested they didn't like it, in fact I think I've read that they, particularly Billie, love it.  I do, think it's excellent and shows a huge range of abilities and ideas.  I think it's the first time I really thought that these guys were going to do exactly what they wanted and that it was going to be great following them, that they were going to really head off indifferent directions. Hardly an original thought, I know.

I think theres an interview somewhere where they're asked about Warning and Billie says he's really proud of it. It's kind of thought of by a lot of people as a turning point for them, embracing different sounds and lyrical ideas/themes, I think the band sees it that way too.

As fa as I know, they've never played Deadbeat live, which is a damn shame. I think overall they must be quite proud of it- it's a solid record. Beyond Minority and Waiting recently they played Macy's frequently during the 21CB acoustic medleys.

Also I think they've done Blood Sex and Booze a couple times in the past 5 or so years at smaller club shows...

I'd love to see them reintroduce castaway into the live set.

Castaway was my favourite Green Day song when I first got into them in the early 2000s.  Seen them live 10 times over 4 tours and haven't heard it live yet though ☹️

Rolling Stone posted an interview earlier today where Mike mentions Warning not being a success when it first came out but is now considered many fans favourire record.

I'd love to hear more stuff from Warning live but Mike mentions in the same interview that they aren't playing anything from the Trilogy because the new record is being received so well, so I doubt we'll hear the setlist changed up much.

There's this interview from 2009. They talk about Warning near the end.

Well he says at the end "I love that record" so that answers the original poster's question

If anyone wants to listen, it's at 8:00 that they talk about Warning

Warning is an incredible album! The diversity of the songs on the album blew me away the first time I heard it because it's so different from their past albums.

They played Shank. Stuart and they've played Brain Stew and sometimes Jaded about as much as any song they've ever played. I would say Insomiax gets love, not to mention the occasional GSB. I like that you dig it. Fucking love Insominiac.

I knew we'd get less Brain Stew when he went sober. Wished I was wrong. Great song every time.

But I want it now - ie in 2 weeks:happyhands:
