Jean Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 Does anyone know how many are hidden at each show? Is it just one pair? If so, how far are you willing to go to find them? Would you just look under your seat and hope for the best. That would be like winning the lottery. Would you try to get in the venue early and look under as many seats in your section as you can? (I probably would) Would you feel bad after if a little kid or someone was in the seat the sticks were under? (I probably would but fuck it). Just curious...
AmyxLongview Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 I think whoever's seat they're under should be the one who gets them, so I'm just going to check my seat
belinda jane Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 I'd just check under my seat. If it's meant to be, then it's meant to be.
Second favourite son Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 I'd just check under my seat. If they were very nearby I'd grab them and keep them safe in case the person sitting there isn't there yet and they get stolen before they arrive - I'd hand them over once they turned up.
BilIie Joe Armstrong Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 I'd consider it a matter of luck. I'd feel bad if I knew I took them away from someone who might have been much happier about finding them then I would. Besides it wouldn't be the same.
DeJennsitized Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 Yeah, I'd feel bad vibes if I took them from a seat that wasn't mine. It would feel so much better if they were in my seat; more special that way. And besides, I have one of his drumsticks anyway because my brother caught one for me in 2009, so whoever I theoretically stole them from would probably appreciate them more.
grene cniht Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 This makes me think about last time I saw them in Cologne. I had a seated ticket and I'd thought the whole day about looking under my seat as soon as I got there. Yeah... I totally forgot about it once I was in and then only remembered in my hotel room after the show I hated myself for being so dumb especally because I doubt I'll purchase a seated ticket ever again so this was my one and only chance! However I think I would have noticed them since I glanced at the seat before sitting down but one can't be sure, Tré seems to hide them veeery carefully
whatsername Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 I would check my seat only before the show. I am not going to take them from someone else.
Spike Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 I think it's kind of against the spirit of the whole thing to go around searching for them. If you get lucky then brilliant, if not then never mind. It's not like you can really go to a gig expecting to get something like that, it's just a nice bonus if you do.
RougeRogue Posted February 13, 2017 Posted February 13, 2017 I'd only look for them like...afterwards? Like while people are leaving. Because you can't expect everyone to know to look for it. So while people are leaving might be a better thing.
DeJennsitized Posted February 13, 2017 Posted February 13, 2017 I do wonder if Tre bothers to go back up to the seat afterwards to see if they're gone, or if they just stay there until discovered. I'm guessing the latter and it's kind of amusing to think of them being found weeks later at a completely different gig, like Adele or something.

That's a great question and I had been wondering the same thing. I know the hidden drumsticks are well known to us huge fans, but I wouldn't be surprised if most people attending the shows aren't aware of the concept. If they're well hidden they may easily go unnoticed, and if they're fairly obvious then they're probably scooped long before the seatholder arrives. I'd love to see a picture of the sticks still attached/ hidden within the seat to see how Tre is hiding them. Kinda dorky, but I'm curious!

If I get so lucky at one of my shows, I'll totally take a picture before taking them out.
DeJennsitized Posted February 14, 2017 Posted February 14, 2017 Also I wonder if he'll do them at the festival shows that have no seats. Like putting them under a blanket in the field
St. Jonny Posted February 14, 2017 Posted February 14, 2017 I never get to shows before the opening band is done so if they are under my seat, someone else would grab them. I may go early and check as many seats as I can though, sounds like an alright idea. Only the most hardcore of fans know this is going on anyways!

In Poland someone found The Hidden Sticks two weeks later at Ennio Morricone show (it's funny, cause he's composer of The Good, The Bad and The Ugly theme )
