Christian's Inferno! Posted January 13, 2017 Posted January 13, 2017 If you were to make the 2nd Foxboro Hot Tubs album, what songs would you pick and what would you call the album? Here's my track listing 1. Troublemaker (Most Foxboro Hot Tubbish song of the trilogy) 2. Fuck Time 3. Stop When the Red Lights Flash 4. Ashley 5. Lady Cobra 6. Kill the DJ 7. Wild One 8. Stray Heart 9. Makeout Party 10. Wow! That's Loud 11. Bouncing Off the Walls (Ik this isn't a trilogy song but it sounds like a Foxboro song) 12. Highway 1 (This deserved to be on Stop Drop & Roll, but it wasn't so it deserved to be here) Album Title: Stop When the Red Lights Flash (Seems like an appropriate title after Stop Drop & Roll)

Your tracklist is near perfect according to my musical taste. These are the most "Foxboro" songs of the trilogy. The only change, I'd put Wow That's Loud at the end because of its crazy outro. Cool title too. An alternative can be "Makeout Party".

Makeout Party in Another Dimension!
Strychnine. Posted January 13, 2017 Posted January 13, 2017 Honestly, I'd love for the guys to get back in the studio and just have some fun and write another Foxxies album.
That Dude Posted January 13, 2017 Posted January 13, 2017 About the Tubbies.....are they locked into a certain sound or would we be fine with them perhaps being an avenue for Green Day to do other things? How about a country album! I was researching what other genres could go in and i accidentally restored me faith in humanity. Take a look, Rock N Roll is still the most popular form of music: https://www.google.com/#q=the+most+popular+genres+of+music Green Day doing a Hip Hop album? Nightlife was amazing and Lady Cobra's band The Mystic Knights of (you guessed it) the Cobra are pretty good. Super Group! A pop album? This seems like it would be Green Day with less oomph, so I'm not sure it would be a wise choice. Maybe they could pull it off, but how different would it really be? My country album idea.....could happen! I believe Green Day would be a more classic country sound rather than today's pop country. And I think it would ROCK. I don't ever see Green Day doing an EDM album. None of them particularly like it so that one's probably out. Never say never, but probably never. A Christian gospel album.....Probably not in the cards currently. They did do that "dirty Christmas songs" bit a while back, so who knows? Latin album. Sure. Let's do this!

Well I assume if they were going to do something of a different genre, they'd come up with a new side project. Like, The Network is their New wave band, FBHT are their garage rock band etc.
1039Revolutions Posted January 13, 2017 Posted January 13, 2017 Oddly enough, I've already made this CD and labeled it Foxboro 2 haha. Side 1 Don't stop when the red lights flash Kill the DJ Troublemaker Drama Queen Little Boy Named Train Wow! That's Loud Side 2 Fuck Time Wild One Makeout Party Stray Heart Lady Cobra Brutal Love

stories and songs Posted January 14, 2017 Posted January 14, 2017 I think FBHT was a one and done situation. If they do another side project, it'll be something new.
That Dude Posted January 14, 2017 Posted January 14, 2017 Fun to talk and think about but we haven't really had a side project album in almost a decade. RODEO QUEENS! RODEO QUEENS! RODEO QUEENS!

I think that about The Network, but they've kept the Foxboro vibe and characters alive for many years with the live shows as more of an established thing that they can go back to so I think they could do it again if they were in the mood.
jengd Posted January 14, 2017 Posted January 14, 2017 I would like more FHTB, more Network, more Boo (j know that's just Armstrongs) and Rodeo Queens. I'd like a country album, a Beatles/Stones/who cover album, or maybe Rolling Stones, more Bob Dylan, an acoustic album - they would still rock - and anything else they want to try!
FallingFromTheStars Posted January 14, 2017 Posted January 14, 2017 Anything but Lady Cobra and Nightlife. I hate those songs

Eric Posted January 14, 2017 Posted January 14, 2017 What like 5 years later and GDC still doesn't get over Nightlife

Of course I have a valid reason. I don't like what the song is about. Good songs are not only good musically, but they have good meaning to the lyrics as well. If you disagree, fine, but like I said—don't be rude about it.

But you just said you don't like it because you don't like the woman Lady Cobra. That's not a valid reason Not liking the lyrics is a valid reason, but you didn't say that. But Foxboro songs aren't really meant to be about the lyrics I don't have a problem with you not liking the song. Let's just agree to disagree
FallingFromTheStars Posted January 14, 2017 Posted January 14, 2017 Some people just don't know when to knock it off...

And do you mean the real person or the character? Because in the song/on the album she's playing a fictional character just based on her stage name/persona, it isn't about the real person.
