desertrose Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 SJC Custom Drums and Tre Cool recently teamed up to present Green Day bassist Mike Dirnt with a custom kit to match his signature Sunburst Precision bass . Bearing the bassist's signature three tone colour scheme, the kit features all the bells and whistles attributed to SJC's custom kit including: hand cut SJC 45 bearing edges, 2.3 mm triple flanged steel hoops and SJC Shield Lugs. http://www.gear4music.es/en/news/article/SJC-And-Tre-Cool-present-Mike-Dirnt-Custom-Kit-For-Christmas/76C/2017-01-04
Billie Hoe Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 It seems so weird that a bassist, who can't (or doesn't) drum, gets his own drums
Marki. Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 Mike instagramed it after Christmas, I think it's a super cool present to get... and since he already owns lots of guitars and a piano and who knows how many more musical instruments, I don't find it that strange that he'd like a drum kit
Joe. Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 Cool design, sunburst is the best paint job for anything

Insomniac1984 Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 As far as I can remember, Mike does play the drums. Well, nice present from Tré and SJC.

St. Jonny Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 It would actually be strange for him to not already have a kit or five. A ton of people who don't play drums as much as other instruments still have kits for jamming whenever and with whoever. It would be kinda weird for a true rock star to not own one when you got the space.

I don't play drums but bought a kit years ago so I could have band practice at my house without the drummer having to lug his kit every time, and I occasionally jam out on it for fun, but I don't consider myself a drummer.
St. Jonny Posted January 13, 2017 Posted January 13, 2017 Same...drumming's great. I love to play them and can quite well, but I am not going to drum for a serious band. Craft is guitar.
