jacobsramek Posted December 22, 2016 Posted December 22, 2016 In your opinión, what do you think green day best tour was? By best i mean your favorite.
Haushinka! Posted December 22, 2016 Posted December 22, 2016 Personally, I would kill to see Green Day during their Dookie, Insomniac, and Nimrod tours.
Asik Posted December 22, 2016 Posted December 22, 2016 Oh its an easy one. 21cb tour for sure. Billie was at his prime. Miss the 10s( . Dat blonde Billie though. American idiot would go next and then 99 rev tour
Steven Seagull Posted December 22, 2016 Posted December 22, 2016 99 Revolutions. The most fun Green Day had in years. And a bunch of great Trilogy songs. But I think nothing can compete with the Dookie days. Green Day were gods back then.
Marki. Posted December 22, 2016 Posted December 22, 2016 I got to see them on the last two tours and out of those definitely the 21st CB tour, those shows were out of this world. I loved everything - 21st CB as an opener, the huge screens, the whole tour production... They seemed to be having the time of their lives and looked incredible as well.

bouncingoffthewallbja Posted December 22, 2016 Posted December 22, 2016 The 21st Century Breakdown Tour shows were phenomenal! The video @Jake69 posted says it all
Dakke Posted December 22, 2016 Posted December 22, 2016 Sonically and with regard to producing wins 21st Century Breakdown hands down. The backgrounds were fantastic, the sound effects spectacular, yet not too intrusive and Billie's voice was just angelically good. 21st Century Breakdown is a fabulous opening song and they played several (at the time) unreleased songs like Cigarettes & Valentines and Drama Queen. The overall setlist was on par with the American Idiot World Tour, which is a close second. I've seen too little of their pre-AI tours to compare them to their more recent shows, but the mid-'90s was absolutely golden with Woodstock and all the shenanigans they pulled on stage (playing nude, Tré setting his drums on fire).

I'm in there somewhere bouncing, an insanely great performance. I mean I'm pretty biased since I first saw them during that era but I've watched a very large amount of Green Day show recordings and I don't think their sound and overall performance during 21st CB can be beaten. I really enjoy every era for various different reasons though, there's great things about all of them. Nimrod was awesome, was when they first started to really develop their showmanship, loads of fun going on, was in more intimate venues than Dookie/Insomniac times and had great setlists. Would've been amazing to see them then.
willplaygame Posted December 23, 2016 Posted December 23, 2016 It is so obviously 21CB, they were as good as on the AI tour, but they had: a) More songs, b) a bigger production(pyro, lights, etc.) c) the shows weren't 100% the same(like on the AI) d) they played old gems/old unreleased songs/new unreleased songs and e), they weren't tired (like on 99Rev tour)
Hermione Posted December 23, 2016 Posted December 23, 2016 Have to say they really didn't seem tired or at all bad on the 99 Revs tour to me. Seems to have become accepted that they were, and I know they seemed a bit tired in the videos of their Reading performance, but when I saw them in both 2012 (before Billie's rehab) and 2013 (after) they seemed full of energy and put on great shows that no one had a bad word to say about.
Clockwise Posted December 23, 2016 Posted December 23, 2016 21CB, but so far Rev Rad is a close second. The club shows I went to were amazing.
letsdanceon Posted December 23, 2016 Posted December 23, 2016 I've seen them since the Insomniac tour and like them all for different reasons, but this past small club tour for Revolution Radio definitely stands out for many reasons, not the least because they seemed like they were having so much fun together.
Spike Posted December 23, 2016 Posted December 23, 2016 21st Century Breakdown and it's not even close. They all sounded awesome, especially Billie, the production was huge, sets went on for days, a very good mix of new and old for the most part, even more crowd interaction than normal. Can't fault it.
St. Jonny Posted December 23, 2016 Posted December 23, 2016 Wish I could have seen them around 2010 or on the 99 Revolutions tour, lots of great song selections there! Saw them in 1998 here in Ottawa. Set was a bit shorter 'cause it was a festival though.
greendepent Posted December 23, 2016 Posted December 23, 2016 Breakdown. Nothing is ever close to that. It started boring as a bad copy of AI tour, but after few shows they just put a lot of shit out. My only "complain" is that they started to ditch songs of that record out while the tour was getting better. I really wished they played Before the lobotomy on the 2010 southamerican tour. But still awesome, and for long time, it will live unmatched.
MikeDirntConfused Posted December 23, 2016 Posted December 23, 2016 AI. Loved seeing the band at the peak of their popularity with ample media coverage, variety of audience members, U2, Bullet in a Bible, and youth.
End Of The World Posted December 23, 2016 Posted December 23, 2016 I can't give my answer, since I haven't been to a GD concert yet. So I'm asking who has already seen them this year: how will this tour be compared to other ones?

Would've been amazing to see them then. All this! Combined with 21CB being my favourite album and the first era I experienced as a fan, the tour was perfection. I remember at the Wembley gig when they played Nice Guys Finish Last and I freaked out, and then Burnout and I freaked out even more (or it was maybe the other way around, but I definitely remember them playing two or three songs they don't play that often that happened to be favourites of mine and it was glorious ) Also: my first ever Green Day gig in Belfast Billie Joe played a little bit of Armatage Shanks on his own and it was beautiful
JellyTime Posted December 23, 2016 Posted December 23, 2016 Of course 21st Century Breakdown! Screens, lights, pyro - everything was on point. They sounded great and setlists were so long and varied... I wish they played more 21st CB songs on RevRad tour.
St. Jonny Posted December 23, 2016 Posted December 23, 2016 We still don't know, I am hoping for more surprises for the official tour. Perhaps Chump into Longview, if they must do Longview. They should change KYE to either East Jesus Nowhere or 21stCB. Nice Guys Finish Last should come back, Armatage Shanks better stay, as with Christie Road. They should wait till near the end of the show, after Waiting but before JOS, and do Somewhere Now and then Forever Now right after. Each show should be at least 28 or 29 songs and a couple of tracks switched night to night to keep us all interested.
redline punk Posted December 27, 2016 Posted December 27, 2016 21st Century Breakdown Tour was epic...his voice
Beathe. Posted December 27, 2016 Posted December 27, 2016 The 21st century breakdown tour were amazing.
TimmyChunks Posted December 28, 2016 Posted December 28, 2016 How's this for a cheesy answer...but honestly, I truly feel this way- this tour is the best, since we still have them and they're going strong. I've seen every tour since Dookie, and multiple shows on each tour (starting with Nimrod) since I was able to drive...and every time they tour I feel lucky that this is still going, and I feel a greater appreciation for every moment along the way. It's all been incredible, but time certainly helps provide perspective. I've loved every show I've seen, but early on I might have taken it somewhat for granted. Not anymore- now I soak them all in and cherish each one like it's the last. A little sappy, I know, but it's honestly how I feel right now. Each show is a gift.
