Really upset about Rudy's. The Oakland location was the last place I had dinner with my dad and we loved going to the Emeryville one, too. I had a split-second moment today when I thought to myself "He's going to be so bummed when I tell him" just like I did when the Oakland one closed. Thanks for the memories, Mike and company.

Money Money 2020 is indeed getting a repress set to be released in September. If you’re on 1234 Go Record’s email list, they’ll be giving a link to preorder a pink version soon, which will be the only color vinyl from this pressing. I’d bet you that’s what the Oakland Coffee club thing was taking about a while back releasing a song not yet pressed to vinyl. It might be Teenagers From Mars since that one was missing from the vinyl compared to the cd.

“I think they have a lot of parallels with Green Day,” frontman Geordie Greep adds. “If you didn’t get into them at the time, they seem completely ridiculous. I can’t gauge what the good Muse is, the good Green Day. There’s something repellent about it.”

It soon becomes clear that Black Midi’s resentment towards these popular acts comes as part of their overly-serious approach to their discography, stating that these acts are almost too “sincere”.

“They both kind of got lost in the sauce with money. That happens a lot with anyone that goes to stadium level. There’s a goofiness to them, but they’re both so sincere,” bassist Cameron Picton explains. “It’s important to be serious without taking yourself too seriously.”

 

Honestly, not sure if I agree with this. If you didn't get into them they seem ridiculous now? Okay...Muse does seem pretty ridiculous, but I wouldn't say it's repellent. And I would argue neither one of these bands takes themselves too seriously. I'm not sure I'm fully understanding their critique but it reads to me the classic these bands got big and got boring argument, which if that's how you feel, cool. I was genuinely interested to hear what they have to say, but their comment strikes me as kind of elitist.

Sounds like a live music simulation for your workouts.  Probably use something prerecorded for Green Day like the Lollapalooza show. A creative way for artists to sell their music.

Guess they were just letting us know it's coming and not that it's available for preorder at this time.
