Article Variety did on it.

Not sure if this violates privacy rules, but it's a public article and he doesn't live there any more (and I'm pretty sure I've seen articles on this here before) so I figured it was okay to post it.

Oh my bad, I must have read that really quickly the first time I saw it and thought it was still the original 1911 house.

I do have to say, that's an oddly written article.

It’s very gossipy in tone among other things.

Hahahaha, this is great!

I especially love the ''or am I just stoned'' line:

''or hath my pipe's effects new potency?''

hahahaha :D

That house won an award when it was finally done in 2010

That is his house in Piedmont also designed by Becker. There was an article or two about that also but one of them even printed the address so I don't think posting it here is a super idea  Plus people will probably just bitch about how much it cost etc. I mean just look at the title of the Variety article!

Is it even legal to publish someone's address? :o

I would imagine it's illegal to randomly publish a private citizen's address without consent however this house had been entered into a design/architecture or building (or something) competition and won best new building the year it was completed. It was a very public competition and the winners were announced publicly and published in quite a few articles etc. At least one named not only the architect (very obviously as he had won!) but the new owner. Since it was the house that won the prize it obviously published the full address. I'm rather stunned that a celebrity would give permission to their architect to enter such a competition with their house.

The house is owned by a real estate trust so the article I saw listed the trust as the owner so unless you were aware you wouldn’t know it was his house, at least not in the one article.

An industry design award is a big deal for a firm and I would assume they get nominated by someone but an architect doesn’t enter it like it’s a contest, I don’t think it is a consent situation. Similar home design awards I’ve seen list the address and often keep the homeowners anonymous so it’s fine.

The one I saw was focused on Billie himself talking about why he would sell his nearly 5 million dollar home and where would he go (the answer being this newer award winning outrageously expensive by their standards home). Trashy journalism if you can even call it journalism

He’s worked hard for it, live and let live, I say. (And it’s not only a retreat, it’s a tax shelter. Finances get complicated when you’re making that kind of money) Good for him.

Finances get complicated even if you own a business once you make your first million trust me. Buying multiple properties is a strategy we all employ and the only people who judge others for their homes are the jealous kind like the writers at Variety with the sarcastic title and the writer of the 2010 article about the Piedmont house.

Well I would be severely disappointed if Billie (and Mike and Tre) did not all have great homes, what chance do us mortals have of living somewhere nice if our heroes don't!  Seriously, I don't want/need to know his address but do you know what the awards were for, e.g. sustainability or just plain awesomeness?

It was an Annual Design Award from the city for Best New Home.

Here’s 22 Green Day covers you didn’t know you needed

The proceeds from this sick Earth Day compilation go to a Puerto Rico relief fund.

I thought for a second it meant 22 songs covered by Green Day and was rather disappointed when I realised

Quite agree, it feels like everyone and their granny is putting out covers of Green Day these days, which is fine in many ways, but I would love to see them do an album of covers, can't imagine them ever doing it but love the covers they have done and would like proper recordings of them.
