Pretty cool that Billie Joe is getting another signature Gibson. I wonder when it will come out!

Just when I'd come to terms with not needing one of those.

Hold on, maybe it means it'll be easier to find an old one cheap 🤔:ninja:

Btw, anyone know if the Wrigley store still had any GD merch left or am I stuck with ebay?

My friend went back the next day and was told that GD took all the merch with them :(

Blast! If I knew there were pins and posters I would've fought traffic after work and got some. Oh well.

They must have done the same thing with Oakland, then. I hope all the leftover stuff ends up on their website. There are show specific things I really regret not buying at the concert, like the baseball jerseys. Havent even seen them on ebay, but the Wrigley ones were on there and like $400 :ermm:

Yeah please share if you find it because I don't remember them addressing it directly.

So I'm bringing this back up cause you asked and I finally went back and found it.

It was in a Rolling Stone interview from March. There were a couple answers that I thought helped point to the reasoning though they weren't super direct:

How did the club tour go that you guys did a few months back?
[Billie] It was great. We got to play old deep cuts. People were pretty stoked. When you play big places it's a little harder to go deep, but we manage to get in a couple. In smaller places we have freedom to do whatever we want.

...

You guys aren't playing any of those [Uno/Dos/Tre] songs on this tour though.
[Mike] No, not right now because the new record is being received so well. We have good problems. We're playing for two-and-a-half hours now. We could easily turn it into a four-hour Springsteen set, but I feel like we're putting out Springsteen's energy in two-and-a-half hours. Also, at a certain point you just exhaust the crowd. I saw somebody say the other day, "They played a couple of covers when they should have squeezed in some more of their old catalog, but I guess it's OK since they did 33 songs." Fuck you. Who plays 33 songs? Not to mention, some of those songs are seven and nine minutes long. Come on, man. Give me a break here.

So especially with Mike's it's like...people get so demanding and bitchy sitting from their computers. Fuck you, man. They don't even have to be out here. I can't stand when we sit here and act like we know how their shows should or shouldn't work. We aren't them or the crew, we don't work the shows, and at some point critiquing turns into bitching and it gets real fucking petty.

Not to nitpick but the current shows are averaging about 26-27 songs, not 33 but point taken.

Love his hair here, oops, sorry, wrong thread. ;)

Not news but kinda related - is this real? If so I don't know what's more shocking; so-called radio professionals being so stupid or him being in bed at midnight

He had an early night

I'm surprised it shocks you

That sounded staged.

It did but, it was still funny in a cheesy sort of way. I feel bad though if he gets that every year and it isn't staged. That must piss him off. Thank god for the silent option. :P

so a guy from my city got to sing Longview the other night and it's blowin up all over facebook, do these kinds of articles pop up after every show? I mean, it happens every night...

http://991thewhale.com/binghamton-man-rocks-w-green-day/

what annoys me is that this guy and I have mutual friends that actually hate green day and talk shit about them, and yet these "friends" (I use the term loosely) are posting like this is the greatest thing ever (I'll admit it's exciting) and they're acting like they aren't snobby metalheads that look down on GD

Well Kyle, here's hoping they learned something!

Has anyone heard the latest radio interview yet, I saw a tweet that it was about to be aired but can't find it anywhere, possibly only available in the US?  I'm hoping somebody caught it?

No and they actually met with two radio stations in Philly. I wish they'd post them online somewhere I'm dying to know what they said.
