desertrose Posted February 10, 2016 Posted February 10, 2016 How Green Day inspired the 1975 singer to become a musician Though his band may only now be leveling up to stadium headlining, the 26-year-old Healy has been playing arenas since he was 13: At a Green Day show, the young’n was selected from the crowd to join the band on bass for a track off of their 2002 Shenanigans compilation. “Mike Dirnt was f**king there,” he recalls excitedly. “I jumped up, and he put his bass on me… 10,000 people in f**king Newcastle Arena!” The experience was life-changing. “It was a defining moment for me. Chin for a Day Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 This is an article from Ultimate Classic Rock where they analyze the Grammy winners for Best Rock Album from 1995 to the present to see if they think they should have won. If they don't think they should have won, the say who should have won. American Idiot is one of the few winners that they agreed with. desertrose Posted February 15, 2016 Posted February 15, 2016 Blink-182 pulled a Green Day and scrapped all initial songs for comeback album Before Green Day wrote and recorded American Idiot, they had the masters of roughly 20 tracks for an entirely different LP, tentatively titled Cigarettes And Valentines, stolen from a recording studio. Instead of simply re-recording the songs, Green Day decided to scrap them entirely and start over. This is what allowed them to create one of the most iconic albums alternative music has ever seen. http://www.altpress.com/news/entry/blink_182_pulled_a_green_day_and_scrapped_all_initial_songs_for_comeback_al

desertrose Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 Musicians Inducted Into The Rock Hall Before 50 Billie Joe Armstrong turns 44 today (February 17), and just last year, he and his Green Day bandmates Tre Cool and Mike Dirnt were all inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame. More often than not, many would assume such an honor would be reserved for more…shall we say “senior” musicians, but Green Day aren’t the only young pups to get enshrined in Cleveland. http://wdhafm.com/2016/02/17/gallery-musicians-inducted-into-the-rock-hall-before-50/#30th-annual-rock-and-roll-hall-of-fame-induction-ceremony-alternative-views Green Day's 15 greatest tracks, ranked http://www.gigwise.com/photos/105517/billie-joe-armstrong-birthday-green-day-best-songs-ranked-basket-case
