Dakke Posted December 11, 2016 Posted December 11, 2016 Because Santa is nigh upon us whilst his reindeers ploughs through the snow of Scandinavia (or Canada), I thought it would be nice to reminisce about two of the best things in the world: Green Day and Christmas. Please share anything that's related to Green Day and Christmas which bring you in the mood for the greatest time of the year. To kick off: our favourite Green Day Christmas song
BilIie Joe Armstrong Posted December 11, 2016 Posted December 11, 2016 Lickety split someone find the nativity scene
End Of The World Posted December 11, 2016 Posted December 11, 2016 The cymbals in Deadbeat Holiday: "Christmas lights in the middle of August, ehm, December"

I didn't truly think they'd sound like this.....but it still worried me.

It's clearly a Trilogy leftover given the style and filters, possibly recorded in 2011 as part of the 60 songs Billie had written for the Trilogy. Last year it was more a gift to fans than anything else? But I agree, it's vocally awful. Speaking of which: I'd like to hear the dirty Christmas song demo's they recorded for Cigarettes & Valentines.
unextraordinarygirl Posted December 11, 2016 Posted December 11, 2016 The Nativity scene. You're welcome.
DeJennsitized Posted December 12, 2016 Posted December 12, 2016 ^ I've never actually seen that before How about this?

St. Jonny Posted December 12, 2016 Posted December 12, 2016 I like the solo in Xmas Time Of The Year and I haven't heard that cover before either, not bad! Guessing that Christmas album will be coming eventually.

PursuitOfEpicness Posted December 12, 2016 Posted December 12, 2016 Only Green Day song I am fine with only listening to once in my life

It was a voice message Billie Joe posted on the official website in 2001 or 2002
Hermione Posted December 12, 2016 Posted December 12, 2016 I love all Green Day Christmas things . Just a shame those Christmas song recordings Billie posted (by playing them down the phone I believe) are such bad quality that they're almost unlistenable. To make up for it they need to release the "album's worth of dirty Christmas songs" they apparently recorded while making AI. I feel so bad for young Billie that I can hardly stand to watch this

platypus136 Posted December 12, 2016 Posted December 12, 2016 omg I didn´t even know there are Green Day Christmas songs! I love this thread
MaraGreenDay Posted December 12, 2016 Posted December 12, 2016 My favorite one is that one with Jimmy Kimmel And not exactly Green Day, but I really love that EP Billie did with his family, I love to listen to it at this time of the year
Christian's Inferno! Posted December 12, 2016 Posted December 12, 2016 I was thinking about making a thread for that song lol. It's funny that people were worried that the new album was gonna sound like that. It's crazy how many times I listened to that song, not because it was good. But because it was new
The Grohl Posted December 12, 2016 Posted December 12, 2016 I was pretty stoked when I heard that GD Xmas song. They hadn't released anything in a while so it was a nice treat. I never worried that it was the direction of the new album. Just thought it was a nice holiday tune.
MaraGreenDay Posted December 12, 2016 Posted December 12, 2016 Confession: I just listened 'Xmas Time Of The Year' for the first time. I know bad fan, but omg I loved it!! Billie sounds kinda like John Lennon lol, I really liked it and now that's another favorite
End Of The World Posted December 12, 2016 Posted December 12, 2016 Along with Xmas Time of the Year, last Christmas, this song was playing in my house: I know it's not GD. But I hope Ramones are invited to the "Great Green Day Christmas Party" too...

But because it was new I remember not being too concerned about it, it is clearly a Trilogy leftover with extremely dominating vocal filters which blemished the Trilogy with that 'sterile' sound. I too was listening to it on repeat because it was simply something new after three years of no new music (not counting State of Shock). I was pretty desperate back in the day.
Christian's Inferno! Posted December 25, 2016 Posted December 25, 2016 Anybody listening to this song today?
unextraordinarygirl Posted December 25, 2016 Posted December 25, 2016 The Christmas songs by Green Day are amazing! I've never heard them before, but now I'm playing them over and over again. So cool!
