"There's two things you figure out in the record: I'm excited about the things in me that have changed, and there's a certain sadness about things in me that haven't changed. You know? I'm still on that path."

You are my favorite, Mr. Armstrong.

I immediately liked the girl who interviewed him, that conversation was really cool. Glad to see that he got his coffee to be able to talk about the election. He finds so many colorful words and metaphors for the same thing, in this case Trump, I guess that must be a thing with songwriters :)

Oh that is a very nice interview. It's a lot about politics again, but the questions come from a different angle. Really liked it. My favourite part is completely nonpolitical though. "The biggest dream that we have is to stay together and have this unity and be able to make records and keep evolving.":)

That was a nice read! Thanks for sharing. :)

Billie has a knack for saying things that make me self-analyse and come to understand myself better than I did before. I think mostly because I don't put enough thought into the why of things regarding the way I am unless it's a harmful way of thinking (either about myself or about others), and simply accept it. In this case, it is this (except if you replace it with the cringe-worthy chant of "AUSSIE/OI")

The main part of America that people want to reflect is: "USA! USA! USA!" There's no compassion. When I hear that over and over and over again – whether it's at a sporting event or a Trump rally – I don't relate to it. It sounds like aggression.

Same. I don't like this kind of patriotism either. Especially with sporting events it's as if it was a replacement for some kind of a conflict for some people. Each time there's a big hockey event it looks almost as if we were in a war with the respective countries the team is playing. There is some aggression in it.

The USA chant has always made me uncomfortable, too. Being proud of your country is great, but being loud and aggressive isn't truly taking pride in anything, it's just being obnoxious.

Yes, totally agree, it's one thing supporting your team but when this sort of chanting starts it sound tribal and devisive.
