Too bad you can't buy NME anymore. I haven't seen it outside of the UK since they went the free route.

Great pics and great (short) article! “He’s like fucking Hitler man. The comparison is that he’s using scare tactics against minorities – Muslims and Mexicans and African-Americans. There could be race wars.”  So damn scary and so damn true. And I think Billie did write a song about Trump: "What part of history we've learned When it's repeated?" It might not be about the person Trump, but about the far right-wing powers which are on the rise (not only in the USA, but also in Europe) that Trump is a perfect embodiment for.

I agree. The problem is not only in Trump in my opinion. If there would be no supporters he would never be given a chance to be a president. The fact that people who are racist and are joining the radical right wing here in Europe is still quite shocking for me. There must be something wrong and vicious with these people who think that the hate is the way how to treat others. I can't believe my own eyes and ears. I thought we live in 2016. It's like a bad dream.

Yeah I think that's only digital though. I might as well subscribe though. Didn't realize it was free....I'm not sure why I didn't know that lol.

So thank you!

Doesn't Billie have anything else to talk about than saying the same shit about Trump over and over again? He's not even gonna win as it seems he has to shit on him so much? I don't care about Trump obviously but imo it's getting ridiculous how Billie always says the same thing in every concert or interview now. We get it you don't like him he looks like Hitler talk about something else. Come on.

You're welcome :) I hadn't realised it was free either!

I think it's probably the journalists who ask that question because of the content of revrad?

It's not Billie's fault that interviewers can't come up with unique questions, @petros. He can only discuss things they ask him about (and personally, I don't think Trump can ever be shit on enough).

Yeah, when reporters ask you the same question all the time, they start to have rehashed and rehearsed answers. They especially want to ask him about it because of American Idiot and his outspokeness.

It's funny—actors have canned answers all the time because it's their job to act, but with musicians it's a lot more obvious. I even noticed over the course of a few days Billie was doing press for Ordinary World that as soon as he finally settled on the right way to word an answer, he stuck with it when different interviews asked him the same question.

Uhm sorry but no. He can clearly say before the interview that he just doesn't wanna talk about Donald Trump cause he doesn't have anything else to say. It's obvious he loves shitting on him cause he does it in every green day show too. And I don't care or judge yours or his political view of the matter I don't like Donald Trump myself. I just judge the fact Billie keeps talking about it and to me comes off as a desperate try to stay relevant and make headlines.

He can absolutely request certain topics not be touched on if he so chooses. But he's in a punk band known in part for being politically involved, so why wouldn't he talk about it? Why would he go as far as to ask it not be brought up? To ban political talk would be a bit hypocritical, no? If I were interviewing someone who had written multiple political albums and was told not to ask him about election season, I'd be baffled.

Journalists are going to ask him about it, and it's in no way surprising that he's willing to answer even if it has been asked before. Many people, famous and average folks, have said similar things about Trump. This election tends to wind people up and receive some pretty choice words from people in everyday conversation.

Thanks for sharing, that was a great interview. I continue to be super proud of the way Billie talks about the state of politics. I think he's dead on and speaks about it well. He knows his shit beyond just hating Trump–he actually has a really great grasp on the issues. I like reading his thoughts on everything.

I respectfully disagree. Billie is very well spoken and passionate about his political views and he is in the rare position to voice his views and opinions publically, and perhaps influence those who are not as politically knowledgeable. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions and during this tumultuous election time, we should all make the informed decision that we feel is right in our hearts. I personally feel we are in trouble with either choice and can't wait for this election to be over, but until then, it is extremely relevant and important to those of us in the US. I don't feel he is being desperate to make headlines. He is being honest and true to himself and his beliefs. If his outspoken opinions influence some people to vote, then more power to him. There is also that thing called freedom of speech...

First of all yeah freedom of speech so what? That means I can't judge what he says because of that? That had nothing to do with what I said.

Anyway about the rest of what you said. He has stated his opinion. Anyone who cares enough about him to be influenced by him in what he votes has already learned he doesn't like Trump he's been shitting on the dude for a year now. I'm not judging his views on the matter. I judge the way he's been talking about that. I don't wanna get into political arguments or details but it's clear he's exaggerating with some of his statements and uses Hitler's name cause it's a catchy name to insult Trump that has nothing to do with Hitler as it's being shown after Billie says it. I get the way he compares him to Hitler but all the media get from what he's saying is "Trump is like Hitler to me" so that statement only makes Billie look immature to say the least.

I don't think Billie is desperate to make headlines but the interviewers are obviously and Billie is happy to give them even if it's the same comment over and over again. When I was younger and saw Billie shitting on Bush I was like "Fuck yeah punk rock!!1!!" but now when I see him talking shit about Trump in every consent or interview he does makes me think of him as a very immature person. Many of the people who are in your concert and payed the ticket to come and see you may be Trump voters. You have your opinion they are free to have theirs. This election isn't supposed to divide your nation. Show some class and respect other people's opinion without shitting all over it in every chance you get. I get believing strongly on something I don't get disrespecting anyone who doesn't believe in the same things as you do.

Everybody in America has been talking about the elections for over a year. It's the crazy way that they do it over there.

About "dividing your nation", he's clearly against that, he's afraid of it and in his concerts after denouncing things that Trump is saying he asks people to join together for the night, so he's clearly sensitive about it.

He's not saying "I hate Trump" or "Trump = Hitler" in a "fuck yeah punk rock!!1" way, he's actually going against some of the things he says because they are social issues (and of course it's difficult not to get mad about someone saying that kind of stuff). Various times last month he said that he didn't really want to be talking about Trump or that some social issues he was asked about made him "emotionally uncomfortable". Well, I think that if you put out a record called "Revolution Radio" you are going to be asked those kind of questions and it would make you look like a coherent person, and not a hypocrite, to answer them.

Also, what he does is when he gets an idea or a phrase that he likes in an interview, he uses it for the next interviews, like any normal person can do that in normal conversation. Obviously he doesn't expect people to read every single one of them, regardless of the country that issues the magazine, in full and paying attention to the details

I respect your opinion, sir, and I do understand your point. Believe me, I am not an outspoken political person by any stretch of the imagination. I still maintain that freedom of speech pertains to your comments, as Billie is free to state his beliefs as often as he likes, just as you and I are free to do so. I agree that people, in general, should respect opinions that differ from their own. However, Billie is known for being politically minded and outspoken. He is certainly not afraid to speak his mind - It's his personality and part of what makes him who he is. I enjoy that about him, whether I agree with him or not. Being that outspoken and righteous is something I would not personally do, but what he says doesn't bother me. I think it would bother me more if he were silent or passive about these issues because that wouldn't be genuine Billie. In the end though, it's really all about the music and the band, as a whole, not their personal views on this or that. He can go on and on about anything he wants, as long as he continues to make great music.

Something tells me Billie is perfectly fine with Trump supporters not coming to his shows
