Thanks for this! Love that the reporter mentioned that this album touches on all stages of their career. And that it's vintage sounding in many songs. Good observations that not enough journalists are mentioning.

Mike talking about gaining perspective from the last few years and how to be a supportive friend and husband. Talking about how there's so much gratitude in the lyrics. Ugh. We don't deserve him. He seems like a lovely person to interview. "I'm not voting for anybody, I'm voting against somebody." ME TOO, MAN.

So on "break" Billie filmed a few movies, put out a CD with Norah Jones, wrote songs a fucking musical, AND was the one who had the idea to create a coffee company? He's such a weirdo.

I've been saying this daily lately, but god I love this band.

Yeah the reporter did a great job! I mean even Mike said that the analyses were great and agreed with her. But yeah I think Green Day definitely has a special place in all of our hearts. :)

This man   I could listen to him talk for hours. Thank for posting this, such a nice interview.

One of many things I liked - "If it passes the campfire test, it's a good song"

Mike Dirnt - the only member of Green Day that really matters since Jason White was wrongfully fired, spit on and demoted.

Jason and Mike need to either take control of Green Day or form another, better band without Billie and Tre.

Do not say bullshit. even though the Jason returned to only a tour helper because I hate him and he should never have been part of the band officially, should never appear in clips, photos and interviews. it is just a second guitar. the green day was and always will be a trio. the best thing they did was to have taken him from the band. keep dreaming about this your idea, but it will never happen.

It's really a great interview. The people who wrote the questins are die hard Green Day fans so it helped them to choose the right questions

I didn't even hear about Jason getting fired. He clearly was not fired, was wondering why he wasn't included in the RevRad booklet. Kinda surprised though with Billie saying he was Quatro on that documentary and thought that made him the fourth official member. Really is no point. I don't hate Jason and the band needs him there, that other guy in the back behind him really shouldn't be there though. I prefer it when they don't use him and Billie just plays.

What did he ever do to you? :P Glad it's up to the band who is included in things and not you.

He wasn't, @thatdude03 was just kidding around. He wasn't included in the RevRad booklet because he didn't play on the album. The whole "official" thing is made up by fans, he hasn't ever been labelled like that by the band and instead he just plays the role in the band that suits them/him at a given time without a fuss. No idea why this has been brought up in this thread though.

Anyway this was a great interview! Good questions and Mike was polite, smart and lovely as always!

People think I'm the second funniest member but in reality I'm actually the biggest Mike Dirnt and Jason White fan there is!  I want less Billie Joe, Tre Cool fired and F(woo) Tons of Mike and Jason.

Not Kidding but actually totally kidding.    I guess I'll go and read this article so I can hear more about Mike Dirnt - the greatest rock star on the planet.
