Alan86 Posted October 18, 2016 Posted October 18, 2016 The fuckers have a number 1 album here and they are not even gonna stop here on the tour. Cool that Tre was on Irish radio though. Thanks for posting

Thanks for posting Fergal hinted very, very strongly that he believes headlining Slane is almost certainly going to happen and he would announce it when he knows for certain I usually don't believe hype but in this case I actually do. I think I'll be ready to grab my Slane tickets this year and I suggest you do the same just in case

When they played Marlay park in 2010 they sold about 25,000 tickets. Slane would look empty with that number. 80,000 - 90,000 is the norm.

Unless they had another huge band play with them that drew an equal number of fans so it was almost co headlining but just not on paper. I mean I went to the Foo Fighters at Slane last year and there was a bizzare number of people there to see The Strypes of all bands. Half the pit were Strypes fans who didn't seem too enthused by the Foos at all, it was so weird! Especially because they were way down the bill before Ash and Kaiser Chiefs and obviously Hozier who had his own sizeable fanbase there. With the right mix of bands or just one really big band along with GD it could work.

The rain was the best part Apocalyptic!! The Foos were amazing! Ash were so great I went to see them in the Olympia at Christmas and they are one of my favourite bands now Going to see them again next month I've seen Kaiser Chiefs live so many times I've lost count and they're great! Hozier has an amazing voice that blew me away! It really was so much fun and I love Slane as a venue so I really hope Fergal is right on this because it would be awesome! I do remember Billie telling Hotpress in 2009/10 that he'd love to play Slane. I'm crossing fingers and toes!
Sarcasm Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 can't wait for those other songs live. Also some quality banter
sara_gd Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 That was nice. I don't know how the interviewer could restrain asking about a show in Ireland Slane could happen anytime June, July or August, right? They have festivals in Germany and the UK at the end of June and beginning of July so it would be great! Is it easy to get there from Dublin? (We're going a bit off topic here but... )
gmcloughlin Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 Sickened I missed this on the radio! That was a nice interview It's great to hear from Tré for a change! Glad to hear they're gonna start adding some other RevRad songs to the setlist. I'd also be worried about them playing Slane They didn't even sell out MP, so I was hoping they'd go for a smaller venue (or perhaps Thomond Park....? I can dream ) I was at the Foos as well. Getting back up the slope in that slushy mud was ridiculous It took like four hours to drive home. I was soaked to the skin and had never been so cold before. I swore that night I wouldn't go back unless Green Day were playing.... Please don't make me go back

It was such a great concert, I had seen the Kaiser Chiefs a few times before too and the foo fighters at oxegen 2005. Slane last year the foos were on a different level though. Like you said the rain made it even better. 7 hours ago, sara_gd said: That was nice. Not sure about the travel from Dublin but I'm guessing it's about 40mins to an hour away from Dublin by car. 49 minutes ago, gmcloughlin said: Please don't make me go back
Christian's Inferno! Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 Well I'd assume if they're doing an interview in Ireland, they'd probably do a show in Ireland Also, I'm glad to hear that we'll be hearing more songs from the album live. I hope we can hear all of them live. The trilogy songs didn't get played live that much with a few exceptions

When they played Marlay Park on the 21CB tour, the crowd numbered about 20,000 or so. I'd love a date at the 3arena though, that'd be perfect! I can't understand why they wouldn't play here in Ireland as they do have a good fan base and the album did really well here . I'd be happy with anything at this point, even if it is Slane!!
