nmesick Posted October 18, 2016 Posted October 18, 2016 Does anyone know if the lyrics for RevRad (whole album) in the album sleeve (came with vinyl) come straight from Green Day? It seems like there are a few times where I don't really hear what the lyrics say. Also, is there any topic that already exists for the meaning behind lyrics? I would like to hear thoughts on what the real meaning is behind lyrics. I never really pay attention to the meanings behind a lot of songs, but I do think it would be really cool to understand what they are about.

Um, I don't know if I understood your question right but are you asking if the RevRad lyrics were written by Green Day? 😅

I get what you mean, I've noticed it too and posted a bit of it in the misheard lyrics-thread (we have one for those), but in that case, it's not misheard lyrics, some of them ARE indeed wrong in the booklet. For example in Bouncing Off The Wall, the booklet says "Concrete dream, I wanna hear you scream", but he definitely sings something else, I understand "I wanna make a scene". There are some other examples like this. I'm pretty sure the lyrics are by Green Day though Someone in the other thread assumed that they might have changed some things in the lyrics here and there when the booklet was already printed. About the meaning of the lyrics thread, I would be all into that, right now we have a little off-topic-discussion about this going on in the "Can Green Day make another AI"? thread. But I think this topic is worth its own thread, so let's the mods decide if they feel the same way. Welcome to GDC by the way.

Normally they're pretty accurate, but there's the occasional difference between what's written and what's sung.
