Maddie86 Posted October 18, 2016 Posted October 18, 2016 just saw this on instagram. I'll head to barnes and noble tomorrow and if they have it I'll post some scans. I can't believe he posed with the G3! I can't wait to read this!
¡Nunes! Posted October 18, 2016 Posted October 18, 2016 I'd hug this magazine! Hope someday this G3 (or a replica) will be used again. Last time was in 2009 for a local show in Oakland, I guess. If someone from US could send me this issue to Brazil I'd pay for all the costs in advance :/
Maddie86 Posted October 18, 2016 Author Posted October 18, 2016 I always love these interviews, the one they did when they released the trilogy was great, i hope one of the guitar magazines does an interview with billie soon
RougeRogue Posted October 18, 2016 Posted October 18, 2016 Huh. He doesn't usually use Gibson ones does he? He's been pretty consistent with the Fender P-basses for like, a while. And that other bass magazine interview seemed to be only fender gear for this album. So...interesting cover choice I guess?

Yeah that's weird I really like the Fender P-bass he uses. Oh well it's a badass cover i guess
greendepent Posted October 18, 2016 Posted October 18, 2016 Mike should reuse the G3. It would be fun to hear it!
Maddie86 Posted October 18, 2016 Author Posted October 18, 2016 so I went to Barnes and Noble this morning and they didn't have it yet, but they did have the last 2 issues out. I'll go again on thursday or friday and see if it's out by then

I checked bass player's website when I got home and they didn't have it up there for sale yet either
geekjimbreath Posted October 23, 2016 Posted October 23, 2016 Incidentally, I spent about 15 minutes talking to Mikes bass teacher, Stephen Burke, before the Berkeley show started. He showed me some texts between Mike and him where Mike was setting him up with free tickets for the show. He also showed me part of the text of the BP mag article where Stephens name is mentioned.
Maddie86 Posted November 3, 2016 Author Posted November 3, 2016 I'm starting to get pissed. I went to Barnes and Noble again today and they STILL don't have it even though it's up on ebay and it's for sale on Bass Player's website. I almost ordered it from the website but I refuse to pay $16 for one issue of a magazine. The price on the cover says $5.99, yet bass player's website is selling them for $9.99, plus $6 for shipping. fuck that.
Maddie86 Posted November 12, 2016 Author Posted November 12, 2016 Finally got fed up with Barnes and Noble and I got this off ebay. It came in the mail today so here's some pics I took. I'm gunna do this in 2 posts. this first post is gunna be full pages and then the next post is going to be closeups so it's easier to read. 2 of the closeup shots came out a little blurry though, sorry!
grene cniht Posted November 13, 2016 Posted November 13, 2016 Great interview full of little gems! "His [Tré's] foot and my wrist are connected. Every night before we go onstage, I take my pick and I rub it across the bottom of his shoe. Then we're ready." Way to go man! "We [bass players] are the foundation in any musical setting, and we look cool as hell while we're doing it. You might as well have asked me what made me want to be the most important member of the band."
jengd Posted November 13, 2016 Posted November 13, 2016 Kyle, thanks so much for going to all this effort, really appreciate it! Great article, always lovely to hear from Mike.
