  1. I have a lovely Polish gentleman painting the outside of my house. He came in to the kitchen, saw my Saviors listening party poster and said, “Green Day, great band, one of my favourites”. We talk music every day and he showed me some pics from a friend of his taken in 1991 when green Day first went to Poland.

  3. You know I'm going to say it. It was amazing. It was surreal seeing them in front of me and not in front of a screen. I still have not realized this. They played every song I wanted to hear live after all these years not that whatever they played I wouldn't sing along and be jumping around. The summer here is very warm, we're talking about 40 degrees and we were there in the hot concrete since 3pm with the sun burning on our backs. But at the end of the day I was in the very front and could see our boys clearly so it was all worth it. I really had the time of my life.

  4. Just come back from the village store. There's a kid's basketball court nearby and they were shouting " Longshot, Longshot, Longshot!" You know what it made me think of

  5. I‘m not the one who asked for it but I enjoyed reading the interview nevertheless. Thank you for posting the link! Fascinating to read the thoughts of 28 year old Billie. „We‘re not a political band.“ Well, that has changed…

  7. Today I was in the kitchen listening to FOAM (because I quite like it from time to time) when my husband came home and said „What’s wrong with you now? No Green Day?“🤣

  10. Late as usual 🤣 I discovered that there’s a deluxe version of Awesome as Fuck on Spotify. I just listened to Christie Road live and it blew me away! OMG it’s so beautiful!❤️

  11. My bank account is happy that there are no other tours / shows in sight, but the rest of me is pretty sad. This tour was so much fun, with the traveling to new cities meeting so many fellow fans, and of course the shows themselves and the deep cuts we got

  12. This one has been a long time coming. Arica Pelino asked me about this tape so many times and I could not find it in her magic suitcase, until I moved it to make room for a NEW collection (to be announced tomorrow!). Finally! Sorry for the delay, Arica. This tape is an odd one. It takes place shortly after the band's legendary Woodstock 94 show and Lollapalooza tour as an opener. They are playing CSDH that night (I was there!) and that's around where this happens. Arica says she thinks she taped this off the radio, but it sure sounds like a Pre-FM thing to me. The interviewer's mic is off/distant. Wacky, jet-lagged chaotic interview. Recorded by: Arica? Transfer by: Shayne Stacy Equipment used: Nakamichi Dragon and M-Audio Audiophile 2496 card

  13. Luxembourg was pretty good. Access to water would have been nice because we were left waiting in the sun for quite a while, but the VIP host used tape to make sure we walked and entered the pit one at a time. I didn't go to Stockholm but heard it was the same. In Amsterdam we were forced to walk very slowly in single file but I don't know if that was down to the VIP host or the Ziggo Dome staff (who were amazing), because the VIP host never actually came back to the Calling All Saviors people 😅 She may well have instructed the staff to do that though. Overall I was impressed. I'm hopeful that although 237 Global ignored our complaint last year, they did actually take some of the advice on board. Still think they sold WAY too many though - the barrier was almost gone once the CAS people had gone in and as we've said many, many times, the front row shouldn't be exclusive to people who can afford VIP prices.

  14. So inspirational. I remember when I was first getting into Green Day, and I watched Bullet In A Bible for the first time. Watching them put so much emotion into something really inspired me, and it still does today. I remember listening to the instrumental of Boulevard of Broken Dreams when the credits rolled at the end of Bullet In A Bible, and I remember thinking how inspirational and amazing this band is. I love Warning (the album) so much ❤️

  15. Looks like they have enjoyed the tour. 🩷 I loved the deep cuts they kept changing from show to show. I miss going to concerts already but with all the touring they've done I get that they need a break. Whenever they're ready to come back so are we. 🤗

  16. So glad you got to see them, they really are so amazing live. I feel them slipping away from us in Europe, am sure they will be glad to go home but they feel so far away.

  17. Excuse me 👵🏻 Green Day have been around for years so their fans' age is definitely all over the place. That's one of the things I love about them. We all got into them at a different age and for different albums. Getting older doesn't mean that you stop enjoying music and going to live shows. 💕

  18. It’s the same for me. I have two (or maybe three) all time favorite bands that I follow even more closely than the other artists I listen to because I discovered them as a teenager and they have profoundly shaped my music taste and maybe even my personality a little bit. I listen to a lot of other bands too, but whenever a Green Day concert is approaching, I literally get nervous, even if I haven’t been to that many shows. There’s just a level of excitement I cannot quite reach with other bands and it’s a bit like a drug. You want to feel that excitement over and over again. Unfortunately, all of my favorite bands are a lot older than me, so if I stay healthy, there will be a time in my life without them. That’s why I hope that the break between tours won’t be too long 😂.

  20. Turn Me Loose is one of the best songs Billie Joe has ever written and I’ll die on that hill.

  21. This is a long shot, but I'm currently in the process of writing a script for a video essay all about Warning. I found a supposed quote from Billie Joe Armstrong about the song Church on Sunday on multiple websites (Wikipedia, Green Day Wiki, and GeekStinkBreath. net), although I cannot find a direct source of this quote anywhere that is verifiable. I'll put the quote below, but I was curious if anyone had a direct source (interview, video) where BJA says this? Thanks! "Church on Sunday deals with compromises in the relationship I have with my wife. You have to compromise in every relationship. If you want it to work out you've always got to look ahead, have a future in front of your eyes and work on your relationships, no matter if they're with your partner or with friends. There will always be problems, but you've got to find solutions, or at least try to find solutions. I really hope there is a solution for every problem. "

  24. I do know of people who bought Welcome to Paradise VIPs for every show just to film, but I wasn't affected by that with Calling All Saviors tickets. Good vibes all around and I knew most of the people behind me in the queues as the same dedicated fans I've been seeing for years. Some of them had also bought WTP tickets for one or two shows. I still don't agree with VIP tickets but I don't think it's a guaranteed crowd killer.
    3 points
  25. Agreed. I didn't get VIP but when I saw the line outside the venues and those who had barrier, it was a lot of people I recognized from previous tours. Maybe influencers is a problem with other bands but I can't say that was the vibe I was getting from the shows I went to.

  26. This tour was the first time I had a „queuing experience“ and more contact with other fans, and it wasn’t until afterwards that I realized that this was a big part of what made it so special. So whenever they’ll be back, VIP tickets, queuing and WhatsApp groups again for me, please!🙂

  27. Thank you all so much!!! I appreciate it so much. This interview is so great, and even gave me more help on analyzing other songs on Warning.

  28. im guessing the following things are gonna happen during the break Live album (dookie and AI live+ some other regulars, maybe 1 or 2 Deepcuts pulled out+LNOE from Fireaid) Warning, 21CB, Lookout (1000 Hours-Kerplunk) and maybe Insomniac/Shenanigans Boxsets New Years Rev including Soundtrack Longshot?

  30. This! In the beginning I was on the fence about the VIP tickets but as the tour has carried on it's becoming more unacceptable and good spots on the barrier are only accessible to people with money and some who can buy them for every single show of the tour to stand with their phones out all night And quite frankly Calling all Saviors doesn't guarantee safe and organised entry to the venue. At some shows they make people walk and at others it's just a shit show. Sometimes the VIP host doesn't even bother to show up
    3 points
  31. Yeees, but I guess the band will want to have some crowd interaction nevertheless. Right, I think and hope there will be something after the Saviors tour is finished.

  32. The sound might be good, but not the crowd consisting of casino players. If you have a look at the Wembley 2024 thread you will find a link posted today that shows that Wembley was recorded professionally. So this might get to be the live album…

  36. Can't believe the Good Riddance thing has had this much attention. I posted my video thinking it was harmlessly funny, but I kind of wish I hadn't now because yes, it's been blown out of proportion. The kid is 14. It was very obvious he was nervous and there was possibly a language barrier. Even if it was intentional trolling, it was funny and didn't come across as anything more. Billie wasn't angry and I think most fans were glad it meant they got to hear Billie playing it 😂 It was also funny when someone held up a sign in Amsterdam and Billie read it, then said 'I'M playing Good Riddance.' Didn't we all do stupid shit at 14?

  37. Am I the only one who thinks that this whole Wonderwall “incident“ is being blown massively out of proportion? BJ laughed it off, Liam wrote a silly tweet about it, that’s it. Now I’m seeing all these posts that turn it into a something big, which it really wasn’t. Why do we have to take everything so damn seriously, and why do people get angry about literally everything? 😅

  39. This was my experience at the Paris show last year. I had a normal ticket and queued all day, only to end up in second row behind people who I only heard singing along to major hits, who didn't jump even when Billie encouraged people to do so (rude!), and one lady who was just filming the whole show, but at least was nice to people around her, and one guy who told me off for brushing against him when waving my arms during Bohemian Rhapsody. That's what made me decide to go for VIP at least for the Vienna shows, because I thought those tickets will go to someone anyways, so better they go to me than to some casual listener who buys them because they're the only tickets left. For this tour though, the people in the VIP queue were largely the same people I had met in the normal queue last year: people following the band through different countries and different tours through the years. If these folks want to spend a lot of time recording the show, that would not be my choice (I normally only record during one or two songs, and always songs that I've heard live a handful of times before and are not among my favorites), but it's theirs and I respect that, and I'm even grateful for that, because I know someone will capture the cool moments. And really, if you see their videos afterwards you can hear them singing along and freaking out 😅 so they're not really made with that influencer mindset of having a perfect "instagramable" video I think.

  40. We should really give the band a break now. And our wallets too, haha. I think this whole VIP thing kind of ruins a lot of the excitement beforehand … but I guess we’ll have to get used to it for future tours. It’ll probably get even more expensive.

  41. For the folks that had VIP tickets to more shows than just Vienna, how was the experience at the other shows?

  45. I feel the same way…🥲 But maybe Billie will spend some time in London with his son‘s family during their upcoming „free“ time. Not that far away then… https://www.instagram.com/reel/DLzfjs-uNTV/?igsh=OHl0Y3NlM2ZsdDNw And this cute video is perfect to make the sadness go away for a while!🥰

  46. It seems that we will indeed have a new live album. Last year, we had already speculated about this due to an Instagram post by one of the camera operators at the Wembley concert, who said that 22 people filmed the concert and that he was anxious to see the final result. Now I found this video posted this year, which I don't know if anyone in the community has seen. This company shows what it was like to professionally record the audio from the Wembley concert. https://m.facebook.com/watch/?v=1083356093478314&vanity=SolidStateLogic.SSL Thoughts?

  48. I know. It would be a mess. 🤭 That guy wasn't the brightest. Someone in line asked him if he had been to Anne Frank's house while in Amsterdam and he asked who, looked real confused and started to Google. At that point - mixed with people smoking cigarettes and weed I was like let me into the venue already. 😩 The moshpits find you! Embrace it.👸🏼 Honestly though, the mosh pits in Oslo looked harsh. Kudos to you. 💕 In Amsterdam no one was pushing where I was standing so I was dancing and had a cup of water infront of my legs without any problems. 🤭 Glad you had a good time. 🩷 This show had a good vibe in my experience too. Agreed! It's so much fun to stand next someone who get's excited when they play older songs and all of you sing a long to every word. Yuck. Sweaty dudes is the worst. Taking your shirt of in the middle of a crowd is just nasty. Same here. Don't want it to be over. 🥺 I like other bands too but there's something about bands that you've grown up with. I've read that bands you listen to as a teen can have a lasting impact on you and can also connect with you as you grow older. I feel like that's true for Green Day. I like a lot of other bands too and I go to several shows when they tour as well, but it isn't the same feeling. This fanbase is overall nice too. With other bands there's a lot of weird stuff going on both online and at shows - there's assholes in this fanbase too sure but it cannot be compared to other bands and their fans.
