  2. Revolution Radio, The Grouch, Going to Pasalacqua, Suzie Chapstick.... I did not expect to get all that at a festival show! Really enjoyed last night, although I will say that no-one around me knew the deep cuts! Thank you Chicago, it was definitely worth the journey ❤️

  3. This show was completely amazing. Everything I could’ve wanted it to be. The Grouch and Revolution Radio?!?! I had an amazing time in the pit. I’ve never truly been a part of a Green Day mosh pit and this one was nonstop throughout the entire show. It felt cleansing to be drenched in Green Day fan sweat 🤣. But now I am actually cleansed after one of the most needed showers ever. It was totally worth being at the stage since 11 am.

  4. Well I don’t think I could ask for a better US setlist. Going to Pasalacqua truly surprised me and The Grouch is always a good time. Same with Rev Rad and I left a tad early but they played Suzie Chapstick a bit.

They gave out demo tapes with two songs, Basket Case and what has to be a new song by Green Day for the movie band called “Bored”. Can’t wait for someone to upload it! Update: according to someone who attended the screening, the credits reveal that Jakob wrote “Bored” https://www.reddit.com/r/greenday/s/JLfQXwMeI8

  10. I think that RevRad has one of the strongest openings of a Green Day album. Somewhere Now, Bang Bang and Revolution Radio are amazing!

  12. Not to go too off topic, but if you're on the fence about mass deportations, trans rights or the genocide in Gaza, then I think you've made your choice. I'm not talking about either of you personally, but more and more these days saying you're in "the middle" just means you're on the right but are too afraid to say it.

  13. I think we have to be ready for a prolonged quiet period. They have been touring for 18 months after all the work around releasing Saviors, they deserve time off.

  16. Is quite funny. Before the show, somebody started to play drums like a soundcheck in front of all the crowd. Then I heard a known fill. It was Haushinka. And then it WAS PLAYED. Absolutely insane. I never thought that 86 in vienna would be tied so fast lmao

  17. I just knew the first time I heard those Eyy-Ohs he was writing a song with lines for us to sing. Sounds so good live as intended

  20. I'm sorry, but if there is 5 people sitting at a table and one of them is a nazi then there's 5 nazis at that table. As @Hermione pointed out earlier, "Border Security" in practice means sending ICE gestapo squads out to rip innocent people from their families without warrants or due process, and "pro life" means forced birth. People seem to not realize how horrific this all is. Also, I find it very hard to believe people when they claim they thought Trump was only going to deport dangerous criminals because we have over a decade of racist anti-immigrant rhetoric from him at this point.

  21. Yeah, that doesn't surprise me. I think the forums being quiet has more to do with that than with anything the band or even the admins and users of the forums are doing or not doing. Me too! I feel on Instagram (I cannot speak to TikTok becase I have never used it) all the interactions are way more superficial, you don't really get to form online friendships on there. Also, there is so much hate in those platforms, I hardly ever read comments on any post anymore. And besides, I feel every time I comment on a public account (Green Day account, news outlet, or my favorite WeRateDogs 😅), I started getting spam or follow requests from soft porn accounts. How is me commenting that a dog is cute or that I hope Green Day plays Fancy Sauce at their next show an indicator that I want to see some lady's "sexy" pictures? So that also discourages me (and I guess others) from participating in any discussion. The forums just feel like relatively safe space, where everyone is here because they love the band, so that means we also share some common values that are openly supported by the band. And here you interact with the same group of people every time so you can form actual friendships and bonds with them that can eventually extend beyond just the shared interest in Green Day.

  22. Personally, I don't think we should be extending olive branches to Nazis but that's just me!

  24. One of the highlights of the show. This had me smiling like a dumbass. Also, Wake Me Up When September Ends nearly brought me to tears this time. I wish I got some out, but I only got close. This was my 9th time seeing them and it was the very best time. The fans were amazing and I’ve missed being in the pit at a Green Day show so much. I am very much looking forward to seeing them as often as I can until I can’t anymore.

  29. Np, I was very confused lol. Context on The Black Parade: I first heard the whole thing in 2015-ish. It’s one of those albums that before I heard it, “Welcome to the Black Parade” was a running joke about emo culture for me. After hearing the whole album, it’s one of the best songs ever. I don’t think the album is quite up to AI or The Wall standards, but it is an underrated all-time great. Yep, “Still Breathing” was originally written for 5 seconds of Summer. Billie Joe decided to rework it into a song for Rev Rad, and it fit perfectly. “Are you scared to death to live?”, is, imo, the best lyric in any Green Day song, full stop. I think Rev Rad is the type of lyrically and musically the type of album that really benefits from a slower closer. “Forever Now” is an amazing song, but it’s a crazy, hectic, all over the map number. Kind of like “American Eulogy” in a lot of ways. Ending the album with it would have felt kind of abrupt to me. Live, it works great when you know there’s an encore on the way. On the album, it needs that slower ballad after it.

  31. I couldn't lol Billie isn't a centrist he's a leftist liberal and a punk. He will never be a centrist especially not at a time when the right is absolutely insane and doing horrendous damage across the earth Because you have some reasonable stances doesn't make your unreasonable and harmful stances any more justified. If you are pro what ICE is doing right now and pro forced birth and denying women bodily autonomy those are fascist stances and you can expect to be judged for them

  32. I know for me I go through waves of being active on the forums. It's usually that I'm busy with other things or just taking a break from being online. I usually check in everyday but I may not check in with every new topic or my fave topics. The forums are definitely my favorite way to interact with other fans. I've tried other forums but they're not the same or I feel like I can't be myself there. So I'm glad GDC has stood the rest of time. Can't say the same for the blink and HIM forums I used to chat on lol

  35. Oh my god...we'd be UNSTOPPABLE!!! While I am bummed and a little pissed off that I got through today, but no one picked up, it was fun sharing our guesses and commiserating on GDC. This is a personal win for me as I typically don't bother with radio contests, so I'm giving myself a lil pat on the back for giving it a shot every day. At least I tried.

  41. I'll always stand up for Ordinary World. It's in my top 15 GD songs. Like @Tre's Busted Drumkitsaid, it's like an exhale. If they ended on Forever Now, you still have a bunch of adrenaline running through you. Ordinary World allows you to breathe while letting the album come to an end. It's a fitting end to the album.

  43. Wow, things went off topic very drastically, very quickly 100% I agree that no one should be extending olive branches to Nazis. That said, I don't think you can categorize every single Trump supporter as a Nazi. Even numerically, if you look at pretty much any poll in the US right now, you can see that the majority of people do not agree with indiscriminate mass deportation, and yet the majority of people who voted, voted for Trump. So obviously there are people who voted for him (many, I would say) who do not agree with mass deportation (the same can probably be said on trans rights, genocide, or any other topic under the sun, but I'll stick to the mass deportation example here). When someone says they are for "border security" that can mean a million different things for a million different people: in the far right end of the spectrum, sure you will find people who want no immigrants at all, no matter their circumstances, background, or how much they positively contribute to the country, and who think indiscriminate mass deportation is great. But for others it will mean deporting only those with a violent criminal record, for others it will be deporting anyone with a criminal record, be it violent or not, for someone else it will mean deporting people with a criminal record as well as those who entered illegally, even if they have no criminal record at all, etc etc.., and none of these people necessarily support mass and indiscriminate deportations, and you can definitely have reasonable conversations with any of them. Many of them might have voted for Trump mainly because he promised to deport criminals, and they believed that wouldn't mean mass indiscriminate deportations, or they might have voted for Trump mainly for another reason and this was just secondary. But if we just label them all as Nazis / fascist / pro mass indiscriminate deportation, we are not going to be able to communicate with them, to understand them, or much less to get them to consider switching sides. I truly do believe that the only way out of this mess is dialogue, and a dialogue where we can see nuances and not just have a binary classification where you are either a democrat or a fascist. And before anyone blames me of being "far right but too afraid to admit it", keep in mind that I am Venezuelan, and half my family is currently in the US based there an asylum seekers, and Venezuelans are the favorite target population for Trump's deportation program right now, so not only am I vehemently again mass deportation, but in the case of the US it is a very personal issue for me, one in which I have actual skin in the game. Also the comment that started all of this was someone imagining a song where Billie talks about Trump's assassination attempt, and how even though he hates the guy, he doesn't want that type of violence, and how that'd be extending an olive branch to the other side. Making a jump from that, to extending an olive branch to Nazi's, it's quite a leap in my opinion.

  45. I’m with @Clockwise and as a European who loves the US, watching what’s happening there, I think now is not the time for the olive branch but to be loud and angry.

  46. Ever since becoming a GD fan first thing I used to do in the morning was check GDC/GDA (and again multiple times a day). For years I tried to help keep the site going updating the picture threads but right now I'm taking a complete break (more or less) from the internet plus it's been so quiet on here for a few years now. Some days I don't even check in at all anymore or on Instagram or my Tumblr
