It was partial showing, 15 minutes from May 4th 2009 for launch of 21st Century Breakdown release on 15th, seen before and on tube. Played AI, 21 Guns and Know Your Enemy, and included some band interviews. Were shown first, then Chillies, then Muse. Maybe attracted some new fans to our awesome band. Tend to forget what an amazing lead guitarist Jason White is. No worries, it's on UTube, see above. Have an awesome Christmas with your family. ❤️6 points

The Classic Rock Station in my town (Rock 101) has been changed to a Country station. The New Rock Station (93.3 the Planet) has said they will have a classic rock show from on Fridays, and will add more Classic Rock to the mix. Green Day is mentioned here: "We are told The Planet will include even more classic rock from iconic artists such as Aerosmith, Def Leppard, Queen and Tom Petty, mixed with active rock favorites including Metallica, AC/DC, Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Foo Fighters and Green Day." I looked at 93.3's playlist, and was surprised Boulevard of Broken Dreams isn't in rotation that much anymore. They play Good Riddance, Basketcase, Idiot, September, When I Come Around, Welcome to Paradise, 21 Guns, Brainstew and Jaded.5 points

It was an amazing thing for Billie Joe to do, inviting a fan to play on stage with the band, even for just a few minutes. You could tell they where gob smacked. So made up, and a special memory that would be with the fan forever. I understand they got a guitar to keep as well? Nice one GD. Yes it's a beautiful song. As far as I know, correct me if I'm wrong, live version at Manchester 2010, part of soundcheck. https://greenday.fm/audio/unreleased-songs/ Hope the link works3 points

still don't know where to put half of these things. not sure if most people here already saw this (and there's a very good chance...) but this is sick! he didn't play the full song, but i love this anyways. awesome kid and awesome song3 points

For those in UK or have access, there's a TV programme on Sky Arts at 2am Monday 22nd, that may be if interest, hopefully. "Live from Abbey Road studios, Season 1, episode 4, the very best of, with Red Hot Chili Peppers, Green Day and Muse." It's 60 minutes long. Says it's new, but that could mean to this channel. I can't recall it, so even if it's old, hope its good. Freeview channel, 36; Sky 124/125; Virgin 123; Freesat 143. Additional series info states: "Top musicians record a session in a studio environment, interspersed with intimate interviews without an audience. Performances range from classic tracks to innovative covers."3 points

I was there (running away from the train 😂) but I wasn't involved in creating the video. I do have loads of photos of the sunrise at Christie Road that I haven't posted yet though. There's also the Tre Edition of the landmarks tour which takes you up to Mendocino and I did that on my last trip. I'll write an article about it eventually! You're very welcome! I hope you can do it one day. Glad to hear it! There's also this post that I wrote about my own experience of doing the tour if you're interested. https://atlasandacamera.com/2025/07/20/welcome-to-paradise/3 points

this thread is really old but i feel like saying something about bang bang, my friend absolutely hates this song. he made fun of me for listening to it once, but whatever, i understand why some people might not like this song... though i remember seeing green day perform this song for the music awards in 2016. it was the first time i ever had heard the song. and when they did the "no trump, no kkk..." chant, it genuinely stuck to me for a while. that chant alone sort of brought some kind of immediate meaning to the song. i cant decipher lyrics well, so it really felt amazing how something so simple can reach out to me like that. genuinely the one of most relevant parts of a song i've ever heard, and that alone made me love the song so much. i love bang bang.2 points

i would be shocked if the release schedule has a new album in it right now/before 2027 at the earliest2 points

It's a good thought, and although the band deserve a rest, they soon get restless. However, with other things being discussed, the movie, and a hint of a possible live album for 2026, I'm not sure. I've a feeling that the next studio album release could coincide with 21st Century Breakdown's 20th anniversary in 2029?2 points

Update 2025/12/19: Added scans of my booklet of the Special Limited Edition of WARNING. This booklet was unused, so it was hard to scan. I only scanned the plastic bag (front, back), the front of the digipak, the CD and the special booklet, not the regular booklet). Yes, this is the only version of the "Warning"-CD in a Digipak and as far as I know the only official version where the color of the CD is green, not orange. Here's the folder: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1NcREWY8wuyegjxcxOwXZ3Ar7eggyU0RO?usp=sharing Another update with magazine scans will follow soon2 points

At this point, my opinion on Saviors is more or less the same as my opinion on RevRad. A good album but too derivative of what they've done before. It has stronger production & lyricism (at least for the more political tracks) than RevRad but I think RevRad probably has the better songwriting overall and isn't as derivative. I'd say it'll still probably be a couple years before we hear anything about the next album. We might get a couple standalone songs in the meantime like Pollyanna but idk. I hope the next album isn't anything like the Deluxe tracks of Saviors which I felt were particularly weak compared to the standard album tracks. I dislike FOAM but I do hope that the band steps out of their comfort zone a little bit more for the next album. They don't need to change producers, I think we'd all be happy to have Rob stay but they need to change things up a bit.1 point

I could maybe see a single or two pop up from now through 2027, but I don't anticipate an album release until 2028 at the earliest. My thought is that as the guys get older, we will see longer and longer periods between releases.1 point

The early version of American Idiot album didn't include She's A Rebel and Letterbomb is named as Clusterbomb. There's a photo of that early version online and somewhere in my computer, if I find it later, I will post it. It's more like the version of the album which is forwarded to the record label for approval. ***On the other hand, may anyone post the scan of the AI 20th booklet where Rob Cavallo talks about C&V ??1 point

Oh I‘d love to see your sunrise photos. From what I’ve seen until now the scenery around Christie Road seems magical… I can imagine how it inspired this beautiful song.1 point

Christmas presents to myself. Finally got the colour vinyl Dookie box set. Even with a set of pin badges and shipping it was less than half the price of the UK store in the sale of the US store which is insane.1 point

Not to go too off topic, but if you're on the fence about mass deportations, trans rights or the genocide in Gaza, then I think you've made your choice. I'm not talking about either of you personally, but more and more these days saying you're in "the middle" just means you're on the right but are too afraid to say it.1 point

I’d love it if he would be a bit more open and extend the olive branch. I love GD and have my whole life seen em live 5 times. Amazing but sometimes he can be a bit harsh if others don’t agree with everything he does politically. We all get his opinions and I respect them but there are fans who might have some opposite views then he does and I think that’s ok. Peace of identity politics1 point

I think they surprise us and have an album out in late 2026 early 2027 at the latest. Billie is always writing. With the success of Saviors and its tour I think we get an album in a similar time frame from Insomniac to Nimrod. In between a Warning 25th anniversary and a Saviors live album in full…Insomniac 30th I pray they do something but that’s also my favorite of theirs with their movie coming out it can tie in to Promotion of warning 25th and a live Saviors album.1 point

He once outrageously claimed he's 5'8 as well (top of last column in this interview full of great stuff including him also pointing out that Tom Cruise is shorter than him) http://www.greendayauthority.com/articles/121/1/ Some serious rounding up going on1 point
