I would absolutely love something like 21st Century Breakdown again just one more time in their career. The incredible production, the wide variety of instruments and arrangements, Billie Joe's vocal range, etc etc etc. An unbelievable record start to finish. How did that come to be? The band feeling adventurous after American Idiot? Warner/Reprise asking them for an epic follow up to American Idiot? Butch Vig's touch?

Christmas presents to myself. Finally got the colour vinyl Dookie box set. Even with a set of pin badges and shipping it was less than half the price of the UK store in the sale of the US store which is insane.

A great misheard lyric courtesy of my sister and nephew: "Coffee and cyanide for llamas in disgrace"!🤣 She asked me one day, what did the llamas ever do to Billie? I was like what?! She then explained how they had misheard the lyrics in 1981 and had to Google them. I now sing llamas instead of lovers because once you hear it, you can't unhear it! You're all welcome!😉😅

For me, it was definitely seeing them at Riot Fest. I camped out at the stage since 11:15 am, but the barrier was already claimed by Green Day fans (The festival opened at 11)! I became super dehydrated to the point of my cheeks sinking into my face. I moshed until I felt like I had to puke. It was the most glorious time I’ve ever had at a Green Day show. It was also great to be there on my own and not have to worry about anyone and if they were having a good time. 100% would do it again. I’d do it tomorrow.

My personal highlights were the nights when I stayed up to watch live-streamed shows with everyone, like the Fire Aid show. Those days were fun . Wow, two days until 2026......

I'd usually encourage any Green Day fan with the means to do the 'pilgrimage' to do it. It's an incredible experience. Update 2025/12/19: Added scans of my booklet of the Special Limited Edition of WARNING. This booklet was unused, so it was hard to scan. I only scanned the plastic bag (front, back), the front of the digipak, the CD and the special booklet, not the regular booklet). Have you guys listened to "Foreverly", with Billie and Norah jones?? I kept putting off listening to it but i finally did a couple days ago and its pretty incredible

@Dingle I have such envy for those who saw them anywhere during AI…but Milton Keynes… fabulous, lucky you. Favourite era, got to be 21CBD (anyone who visits the fangirl thread will know I just adore that era when Billie wore the stiped pants 🔥🔥🔥) and AI which I can’t choose one over the other. Going with Saviors too as it’s been a great tour , Billie is aging better than fine wine and it’s been great to see them all looking well and loving the tour.

i actually got into them through my best friend and some other people. his favourite band has been green day for a long time, so i asked a few friends online for some suggestions. the first three green day songs i ever listened to were dilemma, east jesus nowhere, and longview.

Seeing them live at Download festival during the Summer. Such an amazing atmosphere and the crazy timing of the rain starting on cue during WMUWSE.

I don’t expect word on anything new from Green Day for at least 18 months but Billie did speak about trying to get Pinheaded Gunpowder together for some shows I think.

Both. When I’m on the go of course I stream everything. In fact, streaming is great because my bootlegs get folded into my library so it’s really the most complete version of my collection. Vinyl is for when I’m at home and really have the time to dedicate to giving the music the full attention it deserves. For me there’s no beating the experience of getting a record off the shelf, putting it on the turntable, hearing the needle drop, listening to it, holding the artwork, reading the inserts. It’s a vibe, man.

Most special thing was them picking a disabled girl to play Knowledge and she rocked it playing the guitar with Billie's help and got to keep the guitar, very awesome Craziest was everything at Foxboro Hot Tubs lol. And strictly at GD my sister passing out in the crazy crowd at Shepherds Bush and getting pulled out but being back dancing to King for a Day 10 minutes later

Bobby Sox was a grower for me too. I went from feeling completely indifferent to it, to it being one of my favorites from the album. It gives me that nostalgic vibe of reminding me of my first love. And I actually like FOAM. It's not among my favorites, but every now and then I get really into it for a few days. I don't know if it is because I only listened to it years after it came out and in a moment when I had no expectations, for good nor for bad, about the band's new material (I listened to it for the first time a couple of days before the small show in Paris in the Saviors promo tiny tour)

Another random thought while listening to Green Day. Father of All Motherfuckers is likely a result from Revolution Radio being the first time the band backtracked in their career. It was constant evolution and forward momentum until the backlash from the trilogy. Don’t get me wrong, Revolution Radio still brought fresh ideas, but it was a return to a more familiar sound. Father of All Motherfuckers was a return to doing new things and trying to continue an evolution, even if it was unsuccessful. (This might be obvious, but it sounds profound in my state of mind right now ha)

Listening to Saviors on a new pair of over the ear headphones I got for Christmas and man did they deliver such a treat of an album. They did not have to do this. I had a couple of drinks and am dancing around to a bunch of the songs. They are masters man.

If I remember correctly Billie said that 21st CB is one of his favorite albums, but that the majority of the songs reminds him of being drunk, tired and having mental problems during that time, and that's why they don't play anything of that reord, besides KYE, 21 guns and Murder City obviously.. I can't see that we're gonna get a new album like this again 😕 I really hope that they go beyond their "comfort zone" and just put out a album with variety, all from acoustic songs to ballads to short and fast songs or anything in between

I was there (running away from the train 😂) but I wasn't involved in creating the video. I do have loads of photos of the sunrise at Christie Road that I haven't posted yet though. There's also the Tre Edition of the landmarks tour which takes you up to Mendocino and I did that on my last trip. I'll write an article about it eventually! You're very welcome!
