I understand where you come from. I think the feeling is 100% real, and at some point life will happen for the band members, the shows will be less energetic and the "dad rock" will escalate. We also have a tendency to compare them now and in the past. Yes, Billie isn't jumping as much around on stage and he uses a teleprompter, and they don't play intimate shows that much anymore. But, some things we know are the truth: 1. They are as tight as ever 2. They show no signs of not wanting to perform 3. They just played a tour where they played 2 albums in full + even more songs from other albums 4. They clearly love what they're doing - trust that feeling!12 points

Every time I watch the video I get goose bumps and an adrenaline rush. It takes be back to being there in Milton Keynes on June 18, 2005 the first of two nights. 65,000 fans. Man it was hot, over 30° C I think. I was at the back of stadium, so band were so far away but could still make out Billie Joe running up and down the stage as always, but the two big screens helped. But didn't give a shit, just followed Billie Joe's instructions and went fuckin' crazy and jumping up and down with everyone else. At end of show I was soaking wet from the heat and fans, but I was gone, I'd died and gone to heaven. lol. The movie brings the show close up which is cool. The only disappointment was it's been cut with 5 songs not broadcast and other things. Memories are a wonderful thing, to remember those good time. But to see it again is something else.9 points

We absolutely need a 21CB anniversary box set. Since Butch Vig said that they had about 70 unfinished songs or part of songs I'm really curious how early version might sound like8 points

Guys, I found this page (https://www.brianrobinsonphotography.com/green-day-live-at-wembley/ ) from a photographer who confirms he participated in the recording of Green Day's new live album. He mentions the production company Crashburn and the multi-camera project they carried out. There are several incredible photos there from behind the scenes and the show itself. Obviously, he says he can't give spoilers saying when and where we'll see the result, but he says it was incredible. I was there and I can say it was breathtaking. I think every fan should be there or be able to see this performance. While they haven't announced the release, I satisfy my curiosity by watching this incredible fan-made multi-cam of the show in great quality. I guess we'll have something maybe from the summer to the second half of the year.8 points

Billie Joe has said the only way he’s leaving this band is in a coffin. Artists like McCartney, Dylan, and the Stones have proved you can tour well into your eighties. That might be a bit more challenging for Green Day given the type of music they perform but if there’s a will, there’s a way. Intermissions, acoustic portions of the set, there are so many different ways of going about it. I don’t worry about a “final tour” anytime soon. How many final tours have Motley Crue and KISS had? The love and joy of what they do isn’t going anywhere. They’re friends. This is what they’ve done since they were teenagers or even before. It’s the only thing they know how to do really. Make music and perform it. They’ll do that as Green Day as long as we have all three members with us. And their music will live on forever.7 points

Just spent two nights in Berkeley…possibly the original one near Bristol in England. Certainly very old tiny town, no Green Day references at all 😂.7 points

I think you're absolutely right. With 2028 being the most likely, I think. It'll probably bleed into the 21st Century Breakdown anniversary box set. Or the other way around. Wether they'll be 100% on a break until then. I don't know. But I don't see new music (at least nothing related to an album) before that.7 points

most schools here do 'Lá glas' for st patricks day, which is basically just where you wear green clothes to school. but Lá glas translates to english as 'Green Day', so i guess yall know what im wearing tomorrow XD7 points

Things are different this time around as the band didn't do a massive tour in 2020. They had a lot of downtime to prepare for Saviors, so that's perhaps why we got some much so soon before Saviors came out. So it's not necessarily a bad thing that we don't have any rumblings or leaks right now. Billie and Mike have both said the same "we're relaxing after years of work and we'll see what happens next" kind of statements. So they are writing. Looking for the next vibe, the next thematic idea. I'm thinking the rumblings, the leaks, the rumors will start coming in by the end of 2027. Then in early 2028 we will get an official announcing for a may release. Hopefully sooner than that, as that would be over over 4 years after Saviors. A more optimistic approach is that they are secretly tinkering more than they are letting on right now. Later this year, they will admit to some studio time in a vague, no commitment kind of way. Between June and September of 2027 they make the big announcement. Sometime between September and November the album is released. That would equate to their standard 3.8 years between albums kind of deal. Let's say November 19th, 2027.7 points

Recently, a coworker was telling me the story about the bullet in the bible - the guy that was saved by the bible. I had to bring up Green Day.7 points

You definitely should get into vinyl, even if it is for decorative purposes. I love my vinyls. I actually found the No Fun Mondays limited edition baby blue print at a pawn shop, still in the plastic wrap.7 points

For those who don't know who Adam "AdamTheWoo" Williams is, he was an amazing YouTuber I grew up watching whose content would be focused on urban exploration, traveling the world, or just sitting down and talking about interesting topics. One of his traveling videos was actually to the Bay Area, where he would run around and document his visits to some Green Day landmarks, such as 924 Gilman, the Welcome to Paradise warehouse, Christie Road, Pinole Valley High, and some other places. It is a great watch and I highly recommend you give it a go, it is a really chill video. In the video, he talks about how he saw Green Day twice in 94, once in a small venue with a few dozen people, and five months later at a concert field. Green Day would inspire him to pick up the bass where he would eventually join the band Guttermouth for a brief period of time. They're a good listen! After that Green Day landmark video, he would upload daily for seven more years doing urban exploration, traveling the world, and honestly just... doin' dude things. He would succumb to a sudden but peaceful death in his sleep at his Orlando home at the age of 51. (Heart attack) I know I am a few months late writing this post, but I just wanted to pay my respects to a beloved YouTuber and fellow Green Day superfan. Rest easy, Adam. This is going to sound ridiculous but I have to get it off my chest somewhere… for the last few weeks I randomly have been having weird anxiety that GD will never do as big of a tour as they did for Saviors ever again. And the last time I saw them (Citi Field 2024) I had this bizarre sinking feeling of “what if this is the last time I see them live.” It sounds silly as I type it out but I can’t help it! Y’all please tell me I’m not crazy and other people have had this same thought 😅 I know it’s unreasonable but damn it’s hard to watch the guys get older!6 points

Billie won't hit retirement age until 2037 and besides.... he has some pretty significant job satisfaction. lol Green Day will likely put out albums 15, 16 and 17 by 2037. Big tours for each one? Probably. Album 18 in 2039 - the guys are 67. Maybe this "retirement age" phase slows things down a little. Album 19 - 2043 - the guys are 71. Maybe slowing down a tiny bit, but they all seem healthy, wealthy and happy so who knows? Could go for some time. The oldest known musician performed until they were 111, so......maybe Green Day will outdo that record and keep the momentum going until 2084. Green Day Album 30 would be a nice, even number to go out on. Will it be any good? Will we be in the nursing homes blasting it? Maybe. Things will be awesome in 2084, guys. There's no reason to think otherwise. Earth rules! Humans rock! Everything is awesome!6 points

I had a weird feeling during the Hella Mega Tour. The 21stcB Tour in 2009 was my first Green Day Tour and that tour was the point for me to go „yep, they‘re my favorite live band“. I never had a doubt during the trilogy and RevRad tour. But then covid began and after a long wait they started the Hella Mega Tour in 2022 in Europe. And don‘t get me wrong, it wasn‘t a bad tour (especially I really like FOB and Weezer), but I didn‘t like the short set and EXACT same songs (maybe they changed Waiting/King for a Day with She and Pollyanna. Btw fuck you „rock n roll all nite 😂). I thought „ok, they‘re still my fave Band and I‘ll go to as many shows as I can, but we‘ve already seen the peak of their live shows“. And you know what? The Saviors tour prove me wrong. It felt like almost the 21st Tour where they changed a little bit during in the middle of the set and towards the end of the set and got a little bit more spontaneous like they used to during 21st/RevRad. Sure Billie isn‘t 35 anymore and won‘t jump around for 2.5 hours a day like he used to. But he still sounds amazing and I‘ve seen a lot of bands in their 20s/30s and Green Day still kick their ass today. Am I afraid to see an announcement for a final tour one day? Oh hell yes, I‘m scared. But I think they got 10 years at least and I think Billie has a lot to say during these shitty days in the world6 points

To get Billie out of the band you „have to put him in a fucking coffin“. And as long as the band exists they will do shows, they love it. So I‘m not anxious about that. I‘m just missing them right now… (Besides, being in the fifties doesn’t feel old! I know that….😅)6 points

https://greenday.fm/audio/demos/ Quote from greenday.fm, "Demo leaked in Feb's 2009, with alternative lyrics and a piano intro". See link, 2nd entry down. I love demos, with alternative arrangements and those with alternative lyrics. Must admit I prefer album version I'll wager if they release a 20th anniversary box set in 2009 of 20th C, this will be one of the demos included.6 points

Me too! I asked my mum to buy me a Green Day CD and she took me to a record shop in town. The bloke working there started gushing about how they're better live so I should get the live album... and I apparently took that advice very seriously6 points

So excited to see more Coverups! Just wish they’d play shows outside California. I think I might die of happiness to hear any Longshot material played live.6 points

We Have Notes 🤓 Coffee Advice Nobody Asked For : You didn’t ask, but here we are, and we’re doing it anyway. Here’s some COFFEE ADVICE ABSOLUTELY NOBODY REQUESTED, but everyone needs – allegedly. Drinking bad coffee “for the caffeine” is a choice. Pissing into a hurricane is also a choice. Stop apologizing for how you take your coffee. Just stop acting like it’s revolutionary. If your coffee tastes bad, stop blaming the mug. Ceramic isn’t the villain. Your beans are. Stop calling bitterness “strong.” A: You’re wrong. B: It’s over-extraction. Espresso isn’t supposed to taste like punishment. If it does, something went wrong upstream. Stop pretending foam is doing any heavy lifting. Lol it’s air. Calm down. Drink coffee exclusively from disposable cups at home? Please unpack... all of that. You don’t need a coffee cleanse. You need a nap and fewer opinions. Only drink coffee when someone else makes it? Nice.6 points
