  3. I'd never heard of him before I joined this site. Users on here seem to have a fascination with whether or not the band get his approval. When it comes to music which is almost entirely subjective medium, it's a bit weird to put so much credence in what some YouTuber thinks. Traditionally, music criticism can offer objective insights by examining musical elements like structure, technical execution, and historical context. As far as I can tell, this guy's content just boils down to whether he likes something or not. I might be getting a bit long in the tooth, but who cares?

  4. Why are we so obsessed with what Fantano thinks? Is he influential in a way that I’ve just completely missed?

  5. I GOT THE SLURPEEEE. I absolutely love the flavor, and I didn't realize how huge the cup was gonna be, lolll. Took me two hours of non-stop sips to finish it. I didn't get the speaker, but it looks cool . The guy at the 7-11 was so nice too, he comes up to me and said "Do you want to try to new slurpee." And I was like "Yah-," and he got SO excited. He gave me a sample and was so stoked about it. He said he has been drinking it non stop loll. Love it. I am of course keeping the cup, hehe.

  8. Redundant is easily a top 5 music video of Green Day’s the concept alone! I will never know why this song was not a hit single or why it isn’t a live staple. Perfection

  10. Finally found the cup and the speaker! This 7-11 has a number of them available too. Still no sign of the slurpee, but I did see the latte.

  11. Yes, he really is! I think I've seen about 11 times since he supported GD! The last time I saw him was in February at Alexandra Palace for his 3000th show and that was pretty special!

  12. I like how "Fantano likes a Green Day song" just means "Fantano not putting Green Day in worst tracks of the week"

  13. HAHAHA I've seen that video before, too lmao. How did I not know? That's the best "you know ur a green day fan when..." I've seen in a long time. lolll

  14. Not sure if anyone posted here, but Dita Von Teese recently posted to IG about her appearance in the “Redundant” video! https://www.instagram.com/reel/DIrmm1ozM-1/?igsh=MXg2aW5lbjE2c3g0ag== “Fun fact, I was in a @greenday video in the 90’s. I arrived camera ready and in my own dress 💅 #greenday #coachella” I actually didn’t know this myself and now I have another fun fact for the future haha

  15. My mum told me Mark Hoppus was on Something For the Weekend (UK Sunday morning tv show) yesterday to promote his book and was talking about Blink's "rivalry" with Green Day, and he compared it to the Beatles and Rolling Stones

  16. This isn’t exactly true. Celebrities don’t just “buy a star” when they want one. They need to be nominated and, if selected, there is a cost required in order to make and maintain the star as well as safely hold the ceremony and invite fans for free — this is usually sponsored by a studio, record label, etc. It makes sense you have to pay for it since it’s a chamber of commerce-run initiative — they’re not going to foot the bill themselves to do this for wealthy celebrities. But it’s a nomination and selection-based process, and only people who are deemed worthy based on a bunch of factors get one. So it’s definitely earned, not bought. Here’s an article about the process — says they get 200-300 nominations every year: https://variety.com/2020/film/news/hollywood-walk-of-fame-cant-buy-star-1234758589/

  17. Even though Ryan Reynolds is just meh for a lot of people, I actually think it’s really cool that someone as famous and in-demand as him wants to take the time to do this for Green Day. I don’t think celebrities get anything out of doing this other than supporting someone they care about, so that’s pretty awesome. Their star looks amazing. Feeling very proud!

  18. Don’t forget 3 Grammy nods, not to be sniffed at! You are right, they are having a great year. I am reading so much positive press about their Coachella shows and getting their star on Hollywood Blvd too, general feeling seems to be that it’s about time.
