As usual, I wasn't supposed to be here. I was offered a free ticket and couldn't resist. I arrived later than I meant to, but the McFly fans in front of me kindly let me in after McFly finished, so I had an amazing spot in Mike's corner. The band were obviously on fire (when aren't they?). An incredibly passionate performance. Billie got emotional several times. They played the singles from Dookie and all of American Idiot except Extraordinary Girl. Very different to the Lyon show - it felt less scripted and Billie interacted with the crowd more. That said, I couldn't choose a favourite of the two. They were just different. Lyon miiiight have the edge because the atmosphere was amazing but I might change my mind tomorrow. Also, whilst Billie interacted more, Mike hardly interacted at all, in contrast to Lyon where he must have smiled and pointed at 50+ people. In Holiday, Billie took my England flag, played with it for a while then gave it back. What a lovely bloke. 💖 He kept saying England does it best and I can't disagree. He gave his old speech in Letterbomb - "this isn't a party, it's a celebration!" Homecoming was the highlight. Absolutely incredible. I didn't like Bobby Sox when I first heard it, but I've totally warmed to it after hearing it in Lyon then here. I love it now! And I will never ever complain about hearing One Eyed Bastard. What a banger. We were all chanting "one more song" for so long and so loudly I thought they might actually do it, but of course they didn't. It was lovely seeing everyone so enthusiastic though. I'm really not a show counter - I don't generally give a shit - but I realised from setlist.fm that this would be my 50th show and I admit I got a bit sentimental about that. It was definitely a worthy 50th show. I love Green Day.12 points

Found this video of the first half of the Isle of Wight Festival. The bit about "Isle of Jason White on guitar...I've been waiting all day to say that" just kills me. 🤣2 points

That's a great story. I'm pleased you enjoyed the show.🥰 It's nice to hear the McFly fans were so cool! Amen to OEB!🤘 Now you've mentioned Mike, I can kinda see what you mean. Strange. I reckon he's saving all his energy for the Wembley show!😉 I'm glad you're repenting for your sins!🤣2 points

That's interesting to hear you say that, because from watching it on the TV, the crowd seemed quite good. Yes, it was quite funny watching Billie laugh at the plane. I didn't think it stayed out for long!lol!2 points

What a lucky, lucky fan! I love how he kept interacting with her, even when she was back in the crowd. How extra special for her!🥰 I wish I was Molly!😉 This is the first whole show from this tour that I have watched. Wow! It was so incredible to see the energy from they guys. A couple of things I noticed. Am I imaging it, or did Mike have an outfit change somewhere along the way?🤔😆 Also the Dookie aeroplane didn't stay up for very long. Is this usual?!🤣2 points

I’m really glad that they still kept all five Saviors songs on the condensed setlist. I didn’t love the idea that for shorter shows they’d just play oldies instead.2 points

It was. They also threw in more Saviors stuff this time around. Always great to hear Look Ma and OEB.1 point

I think it was the full show. A mix of Dookie songs and greatest hits, and AI. The only song not played from AI was Extraordinary Girl1 point

It's really exciting that they are playing all five singles a good bit. They haven't done that consistently since American Idiot. They did it with RevRad but no other eras. Breakdown shows could have used Last of the American Girls, but they opted for the more popular deep cut, Last Night on Earth. But yeah, Green Day playing new hits is a HUGE deal. Especially since it goes against the grain of playing two albums every night. I'm excited to see what the future holds for Green Day. The "one-twenty-one hits, the same every night" has been shaken up and now that all the pieces are loose, can evolve into something greater.1 point

On this day 23 years ago (20 June 2001), Green Day played in St. Louis, MO on the Warning Tour. Imagine hearing Castaway, Church on Sunday, No Pride, Fashion Victim, Redundant and Macy's Day Parade in one show. I know that was standard back then, but still. 26 years ago (1998), Green Day played the KROQ Weenie Roast in Irvine, CA.1 point
