Mike and Tre probably wanted to actually take a break after an album/world tour while Billie's songwriting output is relentless haha. Feels like the most likely reason.

They've been playing shows throughout the last 20 years haha, you can see for yourself if you watch some more recent videos. They still have a ton of energy on stage and involve the crowd just as much etc. I saw them a year and a half ago and they were fantastic, they will be on this tour too! They're going to be playing Dookie and American Idiot in full for the 20/30 year anniversaries this year so that will be really special.

So silly as well when they've all done side projects before and when he even took special care to not draw attention to the fact it was a solo record by calling it The Longshot instead of just Billie Joe Armstrong.

They were absolutely on fire, ripping through songs and Billie Joe had morphed into the showman he became for the American Idiot Era. And look at Jason White getting down! You could tell they were giving it their all, especially since they were the first co-headliner. (Also, not sure how to put the video in my post so I just left it as a link. Any help would be appreciated 👌)

IMO, if this was a typical album cycle, where the boys go full swing on touring and promotion, TADIKM and Dilemma could've hit the Hot 100. Rockin' Eve was the most amount of attention they got in a little while, and capitalizing on that could've done wonders for them. I get it though, they have nothing to prove.
