Time to leave GDC til the 19th I think🫣 Not a safe place to be when you're trying to stay away from leaks and descriptions of the songs we've haven't heard. Wanna save it all up until I can listen to the whole album by myself. See ya 😂5 points

Good things (and lossless audio) come to those who wait. Maybe I’m just old now but I can wait a week.4 points
-
Hopefully everyone stays home 🤣 The snow is gonna be bad especially for green day fans so you might as well stay home and not attend the reckless listening party. I heard the prizes are not great anyway so please don't show up!4 points
-
I called Reckless again. Still said no tickets nor reservations needed, just show up early since they don't know what the turn out will be (esp with the snow).4 points

Remember this one where they talk about the feeling of 'playing over' something at the end of this song? Could be that Strange Days is this one and it goes into a Dilemma reprise. Billie says he starts the song off too, so could even be the intro repeated or something similar. This is very much jumping to a lot of conclusions but still fun to speculate. We'll know in ~a week's time!4 points

There goes my plan to stay away from here. If they’re teasing tiny tour dates soon I don’t want to miss info now4 points
-
or when u really liked a song on the first listen just repeating it before moving forward the only reason for the listening party would be the free merch and then go home listening to the leak with a beer with my free merch xD4 points

I long for the days when Green Day cds came in jewel cases 😮💨4 points

I was sooo close to submitting but then I thought “nah, I’m not going to LA this weekend, let’s be real”3 points

I know someone who is 50 and was in the TADIKM video, but overall they may have skewed younger.3 points
-
If they are once again asking for your age and a picture, this wouldn’t be a secret show. It could be another music video though. I still think this is ageism because they didn’t pick any of my older friends (30+) for the music video.3 points

It's a charity event so it's probably for big donors like the one they did with the Who last year.3 points
-
But only with an appointment and their IDs, otherwise they're screwed with these rules3 points

The Green Day website has a new little hot pink "GD" icon so they're clearly making some updates. It could be just an error page while the site is down, but that doesn't mean they're not also adding new content.3 points

People on reddit think the website error is just a typical 404 error. Wouldn't it have been fixed by now? I personally think something is brewing...3 points

In Belgium, radio stations did not play Dilemma at all, but One Eyed Bastard is being played frequently. Seems like the record label decided that OEB is supposed to be the official second single. Too bad, I strongly prefer Dilemma!3 points

Maybe they deleted the internet and the master tapes of Saviors and now everything is gone except the four singles3 points

wtf is wrong with greenday.com I think it's a regular error tho3 points

i think a leak in not the best quality with a beer at home is better than at a listening party where the qualiy will also wont be the best (people around talking, breathing and stuff)3 points
-
Don't spoil yourself with leaks in bad quality. Isn't it way better to hear the album in great quality at one of the listening parties or on release date?3 points
-
You all know we’ll all be in trouble for asking for leaks right?3 points

The YouTube uploads will probably be taken down at some point, so I'll be uploading them to Dailymotion. (Will update the post as I upload all the performances) https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x8rbmj23 points

God's Favorite Band and Father Of All had jewel cases. In fact, the only digipak ones I have are 1039/Smooth and Revolution Radio. But to keep the package conversation going, I'm worried that Saviors will be like all the other cds I bought in 2022 and 2023 - a completely empty waste of money. It doesn't have to be extravagant, but lyrics, credits and some interesting artwork used to be standard. Now you're lucky if you can even figure out who is in the freaking band. Yep, we're all getting old. BACK IN MY DAY....lol. I should have asked about the booklet when I was emailing Warner a second ago.3 points

I'm split on the timing of a potential announcement: A: Wait until June/July so that Saviors has plenty of room to breathe B: Announce this and promote it shortly after Saviors release (April-ish) to increase visibility of Saviors Anyway, this is what I wish for: Live album of either Vh1 Storytellers and/or that first live performance in Hollywood Demos Outtakes from Cigarettes and Valentines (that were miraculously found and recovered!)3 points

It’s amazing how this song is staying at the top of the charts week after week. That’s a much stronger sign than when they hit number one and just drop off3 points

Very interesting to see all their total streaming info, and I put it here because there are Saviors songs or at least one that in the lists. Songs, albums and charts. https://kworb.net/spotify/artist/7oPftvlwr6VrsViSDV7fJY_songs.html2 points

It's just their usual 404 page, there is no code to decipher.. someone broke the site2 points

Agreed. Green Day and The Offspring broke mainstream around the same time in the 90s. Both with successful albums also so they feel like the more fitting rivals. Blink didn't enter the picture until later and it feels like their rivalry is made by fans. Blink loves Green Day and Mark will happily talk about how green day influenced them to start blink.2 points

Apparently something is going on on GreenDay.com, tried to see the tour dates but they are all gone, just some text with trivia in it.2 points

I think they will wait until the 25th anniversay. I mean they can't put out anniversary boxes every 5 years just because there's another anniversary 😂2 points

SPOILER Description of each song from Savior by Billboard italy Discussion The American Dream is Killing Me We already know this song. In fact, the song was released at the end of October as the album's lead single, and is also the opening track. It's the typical Green Day-esque triplet (see Longview or Minority, for example), complete with a short, melodic guitar solo. Look Ma, No Brains! Also in order, the second single released is also the second song on the tracklist. It's a much more adrenaline-pumping song than the previous one, in which the great influence that a group like the Ramones has always exerted on Green Day emerges. Short, and lightning-fast. Bobby Sox The song starts with slow and somewhat "sloppy" vocals and guitar chords. After a couple of laps, the whole band attacks with a very aggressive sound. Billie Joe gives an almost metal vocal performance in the chorus, very scratchy, à la Chester Bennington (RIP), something rarely heard before by him in the past. The song itself is fun and catchy; there's even something reminiscent of Weezer in the poise and arrangement. One Eyed Bastard Again the triplet rhythm makes an appearance, here more aggressive and "heavy", with a real riff that sounds almost like the Deep Purple of Black Night. Dilemma We all know about Billie Joe's problems with alcohol and substance abuse. A little less obvious that he decides to get naked and talk about it in a frank and direct way in a song with an unequivocal meaning. Chapeau. 1981 Again the influence of the Ramones is very evident, for another direct and energetic song, perfect for live performances. Goodnight Adeline Here's the good old I-V-VI-V harmonic turn on the chorus (the one of U2's With or Without You, to be specific - a true passe-partout of pop and rock songwriting). It's the typical Green Day song with slow power chord accompaniment in eighths, very melodic and also passionate, since it also deals with the theme of addictions. Coma City The song tells the dystopian vision of a lawless city in chaos and disarray. It starts with an epic intro with guitar ostinato and drum and bass cuts. It closes with a very intense coda, with a nice drum performance by Tré Cool. Corvette Summer A beautiful declaration of love for rock music in its essence. The song itself is quite simple, almost garage rock, as befits a song with this intent. Suzie Chapstick It would seem to be another song dedicated to the theme of addiction, and probably to a person who is no longer with us. The very melodic guitar chords (complete with acoustic guitar, which peeps out for the first time on the record) have something vaguely Springsteen-esque about them. Of note: the song closes with a major seventh chord, a truly unexpected harmonic finesse for a band that bases almost everything on power chords. Strange Days Are Here to Stay It's the demented-apocalyptic piece that again draws from the spirit of American Idiot. The intro has something reminiscent of Billy Bragg's style: just vocals and power chord in slightly distorted guitar downstrokes. Living in the '20s A song that basically continues in the thematic wake of the previous one. The style is akin to the alternative rock of The Hives and here there is a first, real guitar solo (all on a pentatonic scale). Father to a Son The most moving track on the record. It is based on a very acoustic accompaniment (acoustic guitar, piano, strings) and non-trivial harmonic turns. The almost Beatles-esque string section repeats a beautiful ostinato. Saviors Bizarrely, there is nothing particular to say about the title track. An unremarkable piece. Fancy Sauce The last song on 'Saviors' opens with an arpeggiated vocal and guitar intro that sounds almost like a lullaby. Again we hear the unmistakable I-V-VI-V ride. It closes with a rather long instrumental coda, excellent to hear live. Enjoy!2 points
