It makes me happy that they seemed to get a lot of footage from this recording process. Hope we get to see more, that was great to watch!

This is extra special considering I didn’t expect anything more from them until NYE. Like everyone here I could watch this kind of content for hours.

There's one minute left for midnight and the new year. Everything goes quiet, the stage lights are dimmed down, suddenly, a loud bang is heard and all the pink lights on stage are now at maximum brightness. Lady Cobra is standing in the middle of the stage. Billie starts with the iconic guitar riff and the initial lyrics "Taking a ride to my old haunt..." It is the official live debut of NIGHTLIFE. RIGHT AS THE CLOCK STRIKES MIDNIGHT. All the members of the audience explode, literally (Massive outbreak of spontaneous combustion) because their performance is so fire. 🔥🔥🔥 That's what I imagine is going to happen.

These kinds of videos are always so thrilling, guys!! Experiencing their studio sessions through the video and seeing how a song comes to life... I'm already dreaming of a documentary on the making of 'Saviors'!

The last time I’ve been this high on GD was the Longshot shows. That was pure fun and I love when their music is using old 50s and 60s chords which so much of their “older” stuff does. I think Father to a Son will be the next single, but it won’t drop until the album release or after.

I’m still waiting for this to show up on my TV schedule so I can record it. It’s the next thing we have to look forward to I’m excited. Hopefully there will be more TV appearances and live performances of the new songs in January. I’m guessing the other four songs will be from Dookie and AI but I really want to hear Dilemma live most of all.

Yep, loving it. Thought I liked TADIKM but I probably like Dilemma best. It’s a banger with brave, honest lyrics and just screams a green Day to me. LMNB is just a straight up punk blast so I love it to. Very excited for more.

Missed you man 🙂 Thanks for that extra background. Hate to disagree back at you but he stayed sober for the first five years after rehab which included the RevRad tour (2012-2017). He resumed drinking again with The Longshot stuff in 2018. This song like the rest of the album would have been written during that five year slip between 2018 and 2022, most likely during the pandemic.

My guess is it’s a time period reference but she represents someone else, an actual person from memory perhaps

Its literally dialogue from some old 40s war movie and as a plane is crashing to land he says on the radio “I’m coming in on a wing and a prayer” and it stayed as a coloquial saying (at least in America) ever since. His plane was all shot up and missing an engine and it makes the landing harder to do. So you might be right in that it’s “harder to do” but more to the point it’s that I’m trying with not much to work with and just a prayer and a shitty plane or whatever the metaphor for the plane is. What that thing is here isn’t quite clear as the criminally underrated BJA lyricist/poet doesn’t always spell it out. So yeah he’s gonna try and fall asleep on a wing “on the wing and prayer” still think that lyric should say “on A wing and a prayer” I think you’re just right that it means it will be hard for him to fall asleep in his condition. I would love to know when he wrote this song. I’ll bet these lyrics were written during the RevRad tour because he was drinking on half of that tour, imho. Hopefully he owns his sobriety, meaning he can bring it back out when he wants or needs to. Long live and love GD and BJA.

In my day treatment for rehab we had to write down the first song that came to our minds so I wrote Dilemma cause I’ve been obsessed and then we all listened to the songs we picked and talked about how it relates to recovery. Glad I could force everyone to listen to this absolute banger and watch the video. Lots of “yup that was me”.

Hey everyone! I could really use some help! I've been looking to purchase the same exact patch that Tré is wearing on his jacket in the music video (with the 4K upgrade, you can clearly see it much better). This patch is blue and was given to the members of the Idiot Club back in the day and was wondering if anyone has any leads or could help me find one ? Would anyone be able to help me ? I haven’t read through the thread but on the opening chords (the intro) it ends with a note out of the range he’s playing. Error kept for artistic purposes? Accidental recorded mistake? Mistake recorded but kept? (Like Michael Jackson’s (“look over your shoulders baby)? It’s on the part of the end of “obsession” last note during “sion”. Exactly 16 seconds in on Apple Music. My personal opinion is its artistic as any musician it would break their ears to hear and it’s not like 300 wouldn’t have heard it on day 1. I think it’s supposed to be like everything is going well and then “ooops bad note”. I haven’t been to or watched any show yet or else if he played it, there is the answer but I don’t want to watch live until I am. It’s actual a single note played just left of the chord middle.

Wow, it makes me emotional to hear him talk about this so frankly — I don’t think he’s ever spoken about his issues in a way that just felt so completely honest. And the stuff he was saying during the FOAM promo was just so alarming and I worried we’d never make it back to a good spot again. I know it must be really really hard — for anyone, but especially someone who is in a band — and I’m so happy for him that he seems to be doing so well. I want him here on Earth with us alive and rocking for as long as humanly possible! 🥰
