  1. I cannot get over how HOT Billie is in this video! Ughhhhhh! šŸ”„šŸ”„šŸ”„

  2. I like seeing Billie enjoying himself while making this video it helps with the sad feeling you get watching it. Also the ā€œmovie magicā€ of seeing the fake vomit and the vacuum hose that really inhaled all that ā€œcokeā€ helps too. Don’t even get me started on the extended version of Billie up on the bar šŸ˜‚ I have so many questions too. I can’t imagine Ryan and Billie didn’t have a private sit down first about Ryan’s concept to make sure it was okay and he was comfortable doing it. It’s a big ask for a new director for the band, it shows how close they’ve become already. There’s a lot of trust there. I also want to know what it was like acting with that rig and how heavy it was. How many hours did it take to get all those shots?

  4. Song and video are amazing! Song was in my head all day after one listen and the video is so candid and honest. Well done Billie

  5. I remember they had some pretty cool BTS videos for the making of AI era music videos, was kinda hoping for that with this video. Would love to know how they brainstormed the concept with the director and the technical aspect of how Billie felt wearing that camera! Since the song and video are personal and more specific to Billie than the other band members, I’m hoping he talks about it in the podcasts he’s seemingly doing soon.

  6. When the video switched to color, my brain was split right down the middle between, ā€œwow what a simple yet brilliant way to tell this storyā€ and ā€œGREEN EYES OOOH!ā€ šŸ˜‚ I simultaneously have too many thoughts and no thoughts when it comes to Green Day lmao.

  7. Just had brunch at the diner where the opening scene in Reservoir Dogs was shot. Was wearing my Oakland Coffee t-shirt. Waitress asked if that was Billie Joe's coffee company. We're everywhere!

  8. Omg I know right! I just saw it and immediately ran to this thread. The part when he looks straight into the camera with that little smile My heart melted. SO many adorable looks throughout the whole clip. I've already watched it multiple times

  9. The only thing new I learned was that they used to refer to his dreadlocks as ā€œdookiesā€. That was pretty funny. I like when stuff comes out you’ve never heard before no matter how small.

  10. Dilemma and Look Ma, No Brains have something in common. There's a continuous rumbling/driving rhythm that I haven't heard in any other music that I can think of. It makes the songs more danceable than anything in Green Day's catalogue that I can't explain. What is this? It's really enjoyable and I hope the album is full of it.

  13. Green Day's monthly listeners are up a little bit. Nice! This video has me thinking about how being famous must make this struggle even harder for Billie Joe. I might want to spend a 2000 dollars at bar on some nights, but I can't. My wildest nights were probably a couple hundred in boozing. Billie could transform every patron into an alcoholic if he wanted to. And even if money wasn't so free flowing for him, his fame probably gets him TONS of free drinks. Like in the video where somebody's just pouring it into him! Imagine being Billie's bartender. Do you cut him off? CAN you cut him off without serious problems from drunk Billie? Bartenders of GDC - how do you handle Billie Joe plopping into the stool directly in front of you and getting closer and closer to iheart radio meltdown level? That's tough. I guess if Mike or Tre or someone else in their camp was around, I'd politely talk to them since their used to it - and see how I could deal with it without a scene. I'd go to Mike, say "hey, Bill is getting a bit out of sorts. Can you help him out a little, maybe hitch him a ride out of here pretty soon?" This hypothetical That Bartender Dude is just trying to avoid getting his LIGHTS OUT by his favorite band. What if Tre Cool comes up behind me and smashed a chair and a liquor bottle over my head and Billie starts licking it off my chrome dome?

  15. At severe risk of stealing @That Dude’s role, I think Billie needs to write a song about relationships within the band called Dirty Sex and sing about how they’ve been answering the same question now for about 15 years now and how you need to keep the fights clean. Sadly I don’t feel up to attempting actual lyrics šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

  16. Nothing about a tour unfortunately šŸ˜• https://fxtwitter.com/theprojecttv/status/1733767138349916496?s=20 Here's the video I wish actual fans of the bands were the only people allowed to interview them, such a waste of time otherwise

  17. I hope saviors is a success because I want more albums after this one you can tell they really went all in with bringing rob and chris back I want the third wave for green day I know it's hard to recapture that kinda success but it would be cool to see them achieve it the songs seem strong enough so far haven't heard the entire album but if all the reviews are any indication saviors will live up to the hype the same way American idiot did in 2004

  19. How does someone do this technically ? As in isolate the vocal tracks only ? Does anybody else hear ā€œIs she really going out with himā€ by Joe Jackson in the chorus ?

  25. Quite a nice interview, funny as ever, but WHY does the interviewer think we care about his girlfriend kissing a poster, Jeez, we all do that šŸ˜‚. Although, I do love Billie saying he wrote GR about a break up and was trying to be sweet about it!

  31. The walking dead theme throughout the first three singles I can see now why billie replied to a fan asking about the status of 1972 with "1972 is dead" newest being "don't wanna be a dead man walking" from the chorus of dilemma

  33. I don't know about that, but look at the studio sessions from 2019 to 2022 here: https://greenday.fm/music/studio-sessions/ They've been in the studio at LEAST twice in 2019, 3 times in 2020, 3 times in 2021, and then in October of 2022 they were in the studio an unknown number of times. I think they had a creative streak while recording Father of All, because they probably helped write Money Money 2020 and I'm thinking they had One Eyed Bastard, DJD, Fever and probably 2 or 3 albums worth BEYOND all that stockpiled and ready to go and they've been trying to figure out what the heck to do with all of it. Sure it's all firing on many cylinders, but they give The Network what they feel will work for that vibe. They hold back songs that are perhaps ahead of their time. They put some songs in the vault because they know a future idea will make them better. I think there is a ton of recording time that has been done secretly, that Green Day may have as many as 3 completed albums ready for release and they are just continues juicing them up, updating lyrics. changing parts, etc.

  34. TADIKM & Dilemma are both solid songs. But LMNB just takes the cake for me. I find myself listening to this song on repeat. And when I say repeat, I mean A LOT

  39. Dilemma as the drugs song. Dirty as the Sex song. And Discovery! as the Rock N Roll song. The sex, drugs and rock n roll trilogy. If you put them together, they will form the Dirty D's Done Dirnt Cheap 12 minute song. It could serve at the ultimate epilogue to American Idiot as the protagonist goes through all this to discover his true self as he is saved by Rock N Roll.

  40. I keep expecting these interviews to be about the new stuff, so it’s throwing me off when they focus on the anniversaries. But that’s a big part of their marketing push right now, so it’s probably the directive the interviewers have been given. It’s fine for now, but hopefully when the album drop gets closer they’ll talk specifics with Saviors! Still a cute interview, though.

  43. He’s an inspiration to me as well as the bravest person with anxiety that I know. I’m sure the decision to be surrounded by his friends for the video instead of random actors helped him a lot. He had his whole support system there while he did it.

  44. Laughing because my friend went to a concert for her favorite middle school band The Jonas Brothers last night and here I am this morning listening to my favorite middle school band sing about alcoholism while I cry lmao. I picked way better in every way (and way hotter my god), but I certainly didn’t pick the easier route did I? šŸ˜… When the video switched to color I was like ā€œholy moly he’s cuteā€ as though this is a new development.

  46. perhaps instead of the picture used on the album cover they should have used the picture from Warning but all three of them are photoshopped to be shirtless and wearing nipple tassels
