  1. Right before my birthday, lets go! Yes i dont know why people complaining about the release before the album. I mean with dilemma we know 5 of 15 songs (and still dont know the studio version of 1981 or if OEB has a different version). I‘m sure we‘ll get the 4th single on release date. We have 10 more songs to listen. I‘m happy to hear some new stuff on thursday.

  3. Kind of hope we don’t get any snippets before full release with this one so I can go in completely fresh on Thursday.

  4. I was absolutely convinced that Father to a Son would be the next single but I guess that one will be released as a single when the album drops (or maybe not, who knows). I’m excited to hear Dilemma, especially because the two songs we got o far are quite different from one another (and we know that OEB is different, too). So I’m really hoping for an album that features the different styles that have defined the band’s discography over the last 30+ years.

  5. Came here to make this thread and found you beat me to it! Excited to hear this one! Doubly exciting it isn’t “1981” or “One Eyed Bastard” like most of us were theorizing 😁

  6. In conversation with AltPress Editor-in-Chief Anna Zanes, Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt, and Tré Cool unravel their expansive, almost maplike forthcoming album. Additionally, the trio talk about returning to the studio with Rob Cavallo, dusting off the Dookie 4-tracks, and reveal what’s kept them undefeated after all these years. “We’ve known each other for so long, and we started making a mess together at such a young age, and it’s just continued and evolved since then,” Armstrong says. “I think that’s really rare now. You realize, now, how grateful you are that you’re able to have that experience.” https://www.altpress.com/green-day-alternative-press-winter-2023-cover-announcement/?fbclid=IwAR3Lb5cdvST7jbc_5NV2kqSXw-hKzn0piQUZLAdT7cu_vtK0POwqAIJoVHk

  7. They didn’t describe it musically. This was all they said: We all know about Billie Joe's struggles with alcohol and substances. It's less expected that he decides to lay it bare and talk about it frankly in a song with an unequivocal meaning. Hats off. Selected lyrics: "I was sober, now I’m drunk again / I’m in trouble and in love again / I don’t want to be a dead man walking."

  11. Can't wait for Thursday! Seems like this song especially is very personal to Billie based on what he said about it in the Kerrang interview.

  13. I’m excited!!! Makes sense now why the song was mentioned in Kerrang. Love a last minute song drop, means there’s not long to wait!

  15. You do not have to watch or listen to them. I never understood why people care about snippets or how many songs are released before the album. Go do something else non green day related til the song comes out in your country's time lol

  20. So dilemma is a Christmas party song? Fk yeah

  21. I'm pretty jazzed up about it I wouldn't mind a snippet

  22. Probably because there was no fanfare for this like there was with American Dream or Look Ma. This announcement just sorta happened without any notice. Plus I think people were content with just two songs (4 if you count OEB and 1981) as teasers for what's to come.

  23. Wow like no excitement on here for this.

  24. The impending 20th anniversary of American Idiot has me all in my feels, and one of my first fangirl memories of Green Day was looking at a Rolling Stone article about them over my dad’s shoulder, reading the image caption with their names listed, and thinking, “Oh no, I can’t have a crush on someone named Billie Joe. That’s a really weird name.” 😂

  25. I always like to think whatever song is playing when a plane lands is what the vacation is going to be like. What was playing when I just landed? Popper Punk. This is going to be an interesting vacation.

  26. Can someone post a link to the leaked Italian billboard article? I'm trying to find out if they gave any significant info about dilemma besides some lyrical content

  27. From the Kerrang interview discussing the song Dilemma: And when Billie looks inwards, it's equally as poignant. Take Dilemma, which hears him singing how, 'I was sober / Now I'm drunk again, and, 'I don't wanna be a dead man walking.' "That's one of my favourite songs on the record," he says. "I think it really cuts to the core of drug addiction, alcohol addiction and mental health. The first line is, 'Welcome to my problems / It's not an invitation.' It almost sounds like Facebook within itself (laughs). It's like, 'Come feel sorry for me, come feel my pain.' But, you know, I don't have Facebook or Twitter, so I just do it in songs to where I think with melody it becomes more relatable, and people can interpret it in the different ways they want. It could be me just joking, but it could be dead fucking serious, too."

  28. Green Day should become avatars so they can play every venue in the world simultaneously. If we one day have the technology, I'd be a hole in the wall bar watching Green Day perform all their 2012 to 2024 songs plus never performed songs. All the besides. And an epic encore of The Saints Are Coming where the venue explodes and we all fake did. And then they play Meet Me on the Roof and Good Riddance in fake Heaven with Morgan Freeman on cello. Or AS the cello.

  31. I keep singing the title to the tune of American Eulogy. the "hysteria" line in particular. My brain is telling me it's gonna sound like that sound. Which....could be true. Dirty Polka Christmas Party, in the same vein as Holiday perhaps?

  32. Yeah I like the fact that they haven’t teased a note of this song with the announcement

  33. Fuck yeah it's happening! Hope to see another banger!

  34. Maybe but not uncommon for them to use other song titles in their lyrics

  38. Green Day should release all 15 as singles. Why not? If someone says "flooding the market" shake your Trilogy Fist at them. Shake it!!!!!

  40. Depends on the context. Lyrically, somewhat heavy since it's about Billies addiction to Drugs and alcohol. Production wise we don't know yet

  43. Okay so are the lyrics on the film strip from Dilemma, or did they put lyrics from Strange Days Are Here to Stay on there for some reason? Hmm.

  44. It certainly makes me want to hit the bottle when I hear it, but not because it’s a party album.

  45. I also wouldn’t call FOAM a fun party album, mostly because there is no consistent theme, or direction, or even tone. If I had to stretch, maybe decadence?

  46. I have golden circle tickets. The venue is a football station. It’s a big venue (35000 people) idk how big the standing area is. There are night trains but they will come a go every 30 minuten to a hours. Depends what time. But it’s like 1 or 2 hours away from Amsterdam. You can check https://www.ns.nl for more info.
