Honestly I dont get why people would be more excited about this instead of a new album, they are the same songs we’ve heard serveral times but live or acoustic or demos and that’s it.

I’m excited for this, Dookie feels like an old friend and I’ve already said I’d bet they come up with something we didn’t expect ‘cos they always do.

Yeah this, and I would not say any other reason for releasing an anniversary record 5/6 months before the actual anniversary than having the February slot (or one close to it) already booked for another more important release 🙃

I’m more hyped about Dookie30. The acoustic When I Come Around they posted has my junk wiggling a bit.

There's nothing really to be excited about regarding the new album though. Like all we know about the album is that 1981 is probably going to be on it and that's not a song I care for at all based on the live version. I mean, I'll definitely be excited once they actually announce the album and start properly promoting it but we've not got anything yet apart from teasers from a year ago or longer. We're probably not going to even hear anything about the new album for the next 6 months, why would I get excited for that right now? With Dookie 30, there's an element of uncertainty because we don't know what exactly is going to be released, is it going to be another release in the same vein as Nimrod/Insomniac 25, is this going to be a bigger release? I mean, Dookie is one of their 2 biggest albums, it's for sure going to get more attention. Some proper promotion. Right? But that level of uncertainty is exciting, it's not like the new album where we hear nothing for over a year and then get some mediocre sounding live song. Plus, we're actually getting some promotion of Dookie 30 right now Like, if anything I don't understand why you wouldn't be more excited for Dookie 30 over the new album right now?

Never heard that version of When I Come Around. Was worried we would primarily only be getting official releases of bootlegs that we have all heard and maybe Christie Road and a couple of other surprises. This gives me hope that more surprises are in store than I was expecting. ….unless I’m the only one who hasn’t heard that version of WICA lol

The Dookie sessions were in September 1993 so a September release would be smart!!! I hope that means we'll get the fall-ish single that Hans was talking about in October!!! 1981?

But wondering why there isn‘t a leaked tracklist like the 25th nimrod release days before. I‘m fine with a remastered Audio Release for Jaded in Chicago but would be cool if they‘d add one of those full performances for dookie from 2013 or 2019 besides it with these demos/re-recorded versions for Christie Road and 2LYA. But the good thing is: thursday is in 26 hours in europe. So its up to you aussies to keep an eye on streaming services 😂

We're all excited but I don't think this is their most anticipated album. I remember being super stoked about the trilogy coming up. This thread have 516 pages because 500 pages are bullshit and nonsense

Well then you should not check this thread cause this is a forum and not a news website, and this is a speculation thread and not an official news one. One can appreciate or not people’s posts, find them entertaining or annoying. But you have a very handy block option that allows you to ignore posts of people you want to ignore. Would recommend you to do that instead of judging and deciding what is good for someone you don’t know and know nothing about. Everyone has the right to live their lives and find joy and entertainment in what they want, as long as they don’t break a community’s rules. And he’s not breaking any rule. I’m the first one to find his theories huge stretches most of the time, but you can just reply expressing your opinion and arguing why that is the case instead of giving life lessons. Sorry for the rant, but very few people here has any kind of knowledge of each other’s lives outside of this board and IRL, and I find of extremely bad taste to push judgments of this type towards anyone, when this place is supposed to be a safe space for us all.
