The full song leaked due to a hack or something, I definitely don't know the details. I only found out about it fairly recently and jokingly asked someone for it, not even knowing they actually had it. I got lucky. I wasn't expecting to hear it but of course I wasn't gonna turn it down. It's called a speculation thread. It's not just about official news, y'know?

Maybe create a new thread about the leak or something, the negativity in here is getting dumb. Y'all getting uppity over 11 seconds like my past ex girlfriends. 😬

I don't really care if people have the leak, talk about the leak, share the leak, whatever. It'll come out at some point anyway and everyone who's heard any of it (likely just the hardcore fans who spend time in these forums) will buy the music when it comes out anyway so not really any harm done. However Let's not pretend that people who are holding onto the leak "out of respect for the band" are actually respecting the band in any way. You know that's bullshit. You've actively disrespected the band by listening to and holding onto the leak that you shouldn't even have and then publicly releasing information about it. Regardless of whether or not you keep the leak private, you've purposely gone against the band's wishes for your own personal gain/pleasure/curiosity. Not trying to be mean, that's just how it is.

Let's remember that every album has short 10 second segments which on their own would make the album seem pretty generic. And also remember this is a demo, not a final studio track. So if you hear this snippet and don't think much, don't think this means the album's gonna suck

That snippet leaves me a little bit worried. It doesn’t sound like the stuff they were posting on tik tok a year ago or so. More like foam with better production. Those handclaps and Billie once again screaming reaching for notes he can barely sing, like in Fire Ready Aim, a pretty generic riff - that’s Foam all over again. I hope at least the songs wouldn’t be as underdeveloped as they were on Foam

It was labeled as Fashion Victim! The song is very similar in style to Say Goodbye, only heavier guitars and more aggressive vocals and lyrics. It doesn't sound anything like any songs from FOAM. I fully believe that the people who claim to have heard the full song i.e. M1KEY, pacejunkie, have heard the full song and that you might be able to find someone who has it and will give it to you if you ask. Pacejunkie has been saying for ages that she heard a full demo and I don't think she's making that up for this long. I originally didn't believe that the leak even existed until I heard the 12 second snippet. I also believe that basically any of the people complaining about pacejunkie having the song would be doing the exact same thing But don't go around asking everybody if they have the full song and if they'll give it to you. If the band wanted all of us to hear it like 6+ months in advance of it releasing, they would just release it Yeah idk. It's probably not entirely fair to judge the song based on these 12 seconds. And it's not even the final studio version of the track apparently. We don't even know if the song will even end up on the album

Imagine accepting a leaked song you weren’t supposed to have, bragging about it on a forum, sharing info on the lyrics and melody, and then saying you’re “respecting the band.”

Discussion of the leaked song is allowed. Banner only says not to share or ask for the leak. What else about the album is there going on right now that's worth talking about other than the leaked song which is probably going to be on the album? If you're asking people not to mention the leak, you're really just asking people not to talk about anything.

I hope it's Father of All mixed with whatever everyone's least favorite Trilogy record is. Really lean into using Struts and Gary Glitter samples. AI created handicapping. Police sirens. An R. Kelly feature. Definitely include here comes the shock. And every song is a super cheesey political statement about big pharma. Really get people angry with a song talking up Swmrs. Rosanne Bar on lead vocals. Sid vicious on bass. Billie Joe on keytar. No drums.

It wouldn’t surprise me if this song was a FOAM era idea they later developed more. Also it’s a demo so it might not be representative of the album. That said maybe the album is FOAM with Cavaĺlo production if that’s the kind of songwriting Billie wants to do these days.

Tre, a Chihuahua is the first one that comes to mind. But an unneutered one that constantly humps your leg. Billie, yeah, a constantly working one, so maybe a border collie. But a young one that still gets the zoomies. Mike's the hardest. Maybe a bloodhound?

I'm sorry what is the reason this thread has to be shut down? There's basically been no substantial info given to us for almost the entire existence of this thread apart from a few teasers. Now there is a leaked song that is more than likely going to be on the album and suddenly, there's no reason for this thread to be open? Ik posting leaks isn't allowed but discussion about leaked music has always been allowed whenever a song or album leaks. What reason is there for the thread needing to be closed other than "some people want it to be closed". The discussion is going to happen anyway. People will just make new threads or post in existing threads about it. Or they'll take the discussion over to the subreddit or greenday.fm forum

I feel that Tre is actually a very smart guy so I think he’s more of a husky/malamute type dog, Mike is definitely the Labrador of the group, will go with golden rather than chocolate because he’s so slim and Billie… I think he’s got to be a Heinz or a breed I don’t know as he’s so energetic, constantly busy/working/having ideas and smart but he’s compact and cute.. maybe a sheep dog of some sort or a Jack Russell but a nice one. What’s sad is how much I’ve thought about this since I saw @squinty bitchpost 😂😂😂

I missed the days when Green Day was the focus of the summer.

It was more than that, though. Comments about how good it is, random quotes of the lyrics, and description of the sound. People were loving that they had some exclusivity, which I understand, but they weren’t respecting the band like they claimed. Respect would be silence on the song they accidentally got.

I mean the best song on FOAM sounds like it’s a demo shy to go to it’s full potential and awkwardly fades away instead

Yeah. I think the @mods should consult with their contacts (including Jason or Matt) and if, as indeed all evidence is pointing towards, a release is set for next year, whether it's early next year or later next year, then realistically, this thread will not be required until in at least 4-6 months time, at the earliest. I feel like for most of this year, it's done us more harm than good. Of course with the teasers drying up, that was bound to happen and that was something outside GDC's control. But either way, I think it's clear the band has adapted their schedule in some way and once they'r ready to drop hints again, that's when this thread would merit to be opened once again.

You guys are really just complaining for no reason People here are constantly asking for information and waiting for news. At some point, I imagine it can be hard not to say anything if you've heard the entirety of a song, a song that's likely to be released as an album track and/or a single at some point. Idk why it doesn't matter if Matt, or Jason say something about the new album but as soon as someone who doesn't usually have insider knowledge says something like "I heard the song and I like it", suddenly they're bragging and leaking information that the band doesn't want out there

At least several months prior to the start of the #1972 teasing, which started in December of 2021. Makes me think there could have been an EP after FOAM and this song was on it. I have no idea if the song, in one form or another, is destined for the next album. I would think not due to the timing but as we've seen countless times with this band, old ideas can come back up years or decades later and be used in some form.

AI vocals would be incredible. AI had that preference balance between his 90s snarl and proper singing.

God it was such an epic way to open a show! Was that one of the shows you were at? Regardless, it looks like you got an awesome spot to enjoy the whole spectacle. For me personally, when I hear the song I visualize the official music video and the way it brings the album art to life in stylized animation. Man I love that thing.
