  1. Whenever they decide to announce the album, I just hope they won't do the modern approach and do it 5 months before the release date, then release four singles in the meantime and pretty much ruin the whole fun spoiling the record. I hate that trend. A single a month or two before the record's out is more than enough. I'll never forget when they announced 21st Century Breakdown at the Grammys in February '09, released Know Your Enemy, and pretty much every other information on the record we got were only bits from magazine interviews. We didn't even know the full final track list until later. It was so exciting and awesome. I want that.

  2. The thing about demos is that they are different from original album version that makes them special. Even when they are variation of another song. And Green Day live wouldn't be Green Day live without Billie Joe's on stage theatricals. Love it.

  3. Or studio B sides! We haven't got a proper one since Know Your Enemy single with Lights Out and Hearts Collide (not counting Favorite Son on 21 Guns, since it came out in 2004 on Rock Against Bush Vol. 2)..

  4. See you there! In fact, I’m here already! 😃

  5. Go up onto the stage, take a mic and ask politely what is going on with the new album. And if they say "we're the coverups, we don't even have a first album yet" well.... I just don't know what to do after that. I guess a coverups album would be good.

  6. And as last time, some of you know doubt will kindly provide photos of the show. Of the band and yourselves. With the show on You Tube some time after. Loved the last one, almost felt I was there. Thanks again guys in anticipation.

  9. One good thing about Fall Out Boy announcing their own tour, when Green Day announce theirs, it won't be Hella Mega 2!!!

  10. They had to change plans when they all found out they were actually born in 1973. #1973

  11. I remember that, it was descriptions of the first 6 songs, and by then, East Jesus Nowhere was still known as March of the Dogs!!!

  12. Oh for the time when a GD single included album song plus a number of live tracks. Those were the days.

  13. It was just the announcer who mentioned they were ''currently completing their upcoming album 21st Century Breakdown'' while they were coming on stage to present Grammy for record of the year.

  14. There was talk of a project with Billie and Lee Kirk and photos of Billie and Tre with three young actors. We still don't know what it is for.

  15. Or maybe it's simply not called 1972 anymore

  19. Came here to also voice my frustration that there has been no update/ETA on my vinyl and cd bundle package either. Demo album is great! Listened on Spotify and Black Eyeliner stopped me in my tracks. Wild how that turned into two different songs. The harmonica on Walk Alone is amazing. It sounds so pathetic that it's charming, haha.

  20. Last time I ordered with them I had to reach out multiple times before they gave me tracking information. Looks like I have to fire off another email soon *cracks knuckles*

  21. No news, no tracking, nothing! Feel like I burnt $150 in a hole.

  23. Don't knock it. Seeing them live on YouTube, even when repeating songs, it's always different and special. Not being there isn't the same, but I get the impression its more personal and interactive with the band, looks amazing. I know you'll all have the best time again.

  24. Trying to remember discussion earlier last year in this topic that I need to clarify. Wasn't there talk of three musicians/actors, that were going to make a docudrama of the band's early days as the project 1972? Running separately to album 14?

  25. Just got an email apologizing saying they confirmed with warehouse that my order shipped. But are blaming the lack of tracking info on UPS/USPS, allow 10 days BS

  26. https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZTRstSd75/ Just took a look at this teaser again and it got me thinking, besides the drum track that Tré was obviously fooling around with here, could this be a little snippet of an acoustic song on the album?

  27. Was just coming here to post this! Been waiting forever for Rob to do an episode on them. It's really well done and worth checking out. Also helps that he's a fellow Ohioan and makes geographical references that I can relate to. 😂

  28. I think they cut that one down because it was R rated with Billie’s jerking off sounds and no kid could play the album in their house with their parents around 😂

  29. Is it significant that they teased this project pretty regularly from December 2021 to August 2022 and then effectively stopped? Like what happened then? Was that when there was some other change to the project that knocked it off schedule? Because it’s been nearly six months now with no official tease.

  31. I 100% agree with your live album thoughts. If they're gonna do the fan thing with Knowledge, I don't mind watching it but listening to it is exhausting. They easily could've edited it down similar to what they did for HAR on BIAB.

  32. Well, there are things I liked and others not... or I considered as a "meh". Good things: * Keep the mix for Nimrod Album: Nothing more to say, Nimrod since 1997 is a perfect album in my opinion. I love the production (I assume it is the same mix, I didn't watch/read any "Remastered Version" in the promotion of Nimrod XXV) * Get unreleased material: It's really good to know some more content from this era, but... I will explain later. * The Art from CD and Vynil Version: I don't have any physical copy, but I watched many unboxing videos and I love the printed content. * The Live album: FOR YEARS i wanted an official release for Electric Factory Show. I remember the times I listened to Redundant Single (I think it was in 2003 or 2004), those live tracks just make me desire more and more recordings from that show. Then I could listen Time of your life from NGFL single and NGFL live from that vynil singles collection in 2009. It has some flaws, but finally my wish came true. Green Day sounded so different in that era, compared to current shows. The vibe/atmosphere/spirit of GD 90s shows feel more raw, now it is more "friendly" (Nothing against that, but I would had loved to be in a GD show in that era) * NGFL and TOYL Videos in 4K: Not part of this Boxset, but for ages I wanted classic GD videos in Full HD/4K. Bad things: * No expansion of Nimrod album: I know I said Nimrod is perfect, however Billie said Suffocatte almost was part of Nimrod. I see no reason that could have happened in this release. * The Demo album: To be fair, I got the point why this material didn't make the cut. I liked to listen to the demos of released songs, we could get the idea how much those songs changed. However, You irritate me, thankfully, was not part of Nimrod. It didn't impressed me at all. Alison cover... I wanted to listen to the band version. Black Eyeliner was a good surprise, not one of the best GD songs ever, but nice to know how this demo was a proto of Church on Sunday and Kill your friends. Place inside my head... it's ok (I give it some credit because Mike sings) Chain Saw is a good brief cover of Ramones. Tre's Polka... it's something different but boring. Overall, they could add more stuff like some alternate mixes (Prosthetic Head, the Richard Dodd Mix and Future Disc System versions of Redundant, D.U.I., etc) * Some flaws in the Live Record: First, the solo part and the fan playing guitar in Knowledge... what a waste. Knowledge sounded so good on Nimrod/Warning era. Paper Lanterns is so long... I have no problems with it IF I can watch the band (To be clear, in a DVD/BluRay/Video on YT). You know, watch the band interaction with the audience. However, just listen to the band playing the same riff for some minutes... for that reason I prefer the redundant single version, going to the best parts. I liked the "fast punk" part, though. Finally, I don't know why in the vynil version Brain Stew and Jaded were separated... it is a non-sense.

  37. I doubt that Billie doesn’t care anymore. For one, the thing with Morrissey happened before the start of the Pandemic, in which he wasn’t aware of his views. Afterwards, he was pretty damn vocal about the need for Police reform after George Floyd was murdered, also making a cover of John Lennon’s “Gimmie Some Truth” in the midst of it all. He was also very loud about wanting people to vote in the 2020 election, and about his distaste for what happened to Roe V Wade. Now, the band should still be held accountable for making a song to Bill Maher, but accountability is not the same as hatred. It’s demanding better from the artists we love. This feels akin to Tom Morello being friends with Ted Nugent rather than him not caring.
