I love this band more than life itself and I respect the creative process, but honestly, they're idiots for not taking advantage of the last 50th birthday in the band being on a Friday (album release day) and get the project out in the 50th anniversary of the year they're honoring. I had a longshot fantasy that I'd wake up to a surprise drop which is just silly, I know, but they're just as silly for not doing it, right?

When they didn’t do anything special to mark Billie’s birthday, that’s when I gave up on the hope that the birthdays would mean anything in terms of releases, despite the title. I still wonder if it’s even gonna be the title now if they passed on taking advantage of their 50th birthdays. What’s the point of the title then (Other than to represent the year they made it not the year they release it)

Okay, here's my wacky idea for the film/album combo: The movie looks like real behind the scenes footage of Green Day struggling to top American Idiot. In this movie, Billie Joe gets the idea to try and make a movie where present day Billlie Joe tries to live out the entire plot of American Idiot all over again, all while recording different songs during the process. The album is ultimately a terrible abomination and we're all watching in horror as bad song after bad songs gets made. The band falls apart. Green Day release this really awful 1972 album and everyone hates it.....but that's a movie INSIDE of a movie, get it? That was all a faux documentary and Green Day have actually teased NOTHING from their next album, which is balls to the wall crazy punk rock like we've never heard before, and it comes out the day after the movie. One great big power ballad, unbelievably called Salute Boulevard (22 Guns)

It's very possible we don't get any 1972 news until after Nimrod anniversary edition is out

So channeling my inner gdfan2019, I think it's entirely possible we get a small #1972 teaser tomorrow on tres bday. Nothing special or anything just the hashtag. Which is more than we have had in a while lol

They have been teasing this thing for almost a year now, December 19th to be exact!!! Perhaps maybe they should’ve waited at least 4 or 5 months to start teasing? Regardless, this shows that they’re super excited for this one!!!

Was reminded of what a great song Degenerate is when it popped up on my shuffle.

I received some demos from the band today. It is called Mother of All Dark Roasts. The demo is a light blend of songs. This is also the first potential GD release not to feature guitars on tracks. Billie Joe was marked as: Lead Vocals, Backing Vocals, Keytar, Synthesizers, Piano, Harmonica and Mandolin.

I hope it sounds exactly like foam. Like some of the same songs even. Then pizzagate and pool party from The Network. And the same cover, but uglier.
