I really like Holy Toledo, that’s my favorite of all the post FOAM stuff (not counting The Network). Pollyanna and You Irritate Me are both just ok. We won’t speak of HCTS. Hopefully they’ve forgotten they’ve ever done it.9 points

So, I like to hold little living room concerts for my son where I play guitar and sing, and I think I have the best setlist down so far. Tell me what you think and if you think I should make any adjustments. I know this sounds stupid but I’m just looking for some help, making the set flow. The music will sound like the snippets we've heard. The vocals will be exclusively rapping from Chris Dugan except for one part where Mike Dirnt and Jason White sob like Jonathan Davis on "Daddy". The biggest hand clapping solo you've ever heard. Billie Joe had been demoted to keyboardist man. Some of the best drumming and bass we will ever get from Tre and Mike. The songs won't have names. To get a "song effigy" you must buy an NFT made out of Marijuana and incense wrapped in gross, dark chocolate rain. Overall, a funny and joyous pop punk record.2 points

Fun fact: I thought my boyfriend's Okc picture was a reference to Uno and that's the first question I ever asked him....it wasn't 😂2 points

There should a dating app for Green Day fans. Only when the non-fans are weeded can the true pickiness begin.... Must have the exact same top 55 songs, top 4 albums, and same band member crush. Haha.2 points

1. Holy Toledo - really great. 2. 1972 Teasers - sounds promising. 3. You Irritate Me - awesome but little substance. 4. Here Comes The Shock - thiiiss. This irritates me. LIke a tick on hotdog or whatever Billie Joe said. I googled "1972 track list" because I want to see some song titles, gosh poop it. Here's what I found: 1972 Tracklist Here Comes the Shock Lyrics. 6.5K. Produced by Butch Walker. Written by Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt & Tré Cool. Holy Toledo! Lyrics. 3.7K. Produced by Green Day, Butch Walker, Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt & Tré Cool. ... Pollyanna Lyrics. 17.5K. Produced by Green Day.2 points

It was like nails on a chalkboard I literally cannot listen to the song for that reason2 points

21st CB vibes with Rob Cavallo touch and RevRad flavors including few new sounds here and there... They call it 1972... I call it Green Day we know and love... No Swedish songwriters, no trap beats.2 points

I'm currently watching the mixing course of Boulevard of Broken Dreams by Chris Lorde-Alge and it was really interesting to hear Mike's backing vocals in solo. Always thought that Billie was the only one who sang background vocals since American Idiot1 point

I wonder if that’s Billie using their Twitter. It’s odd they only use it for promotion usually. This is normally something he would put on his IG.1 point

How awful would it be if we had heard most of it already? 1. Holy Toledo 2. Here Comes the Shock 3. Rock N Roll All Night 4. Dreaming 5. Pollyanna 6. 1972 7. This is Our Lives 8. Blaster 9. Lost Love 10. Butt Crack Cabin 11. Here Comes The Shock (Confetti) 12. The Shocks A Keep Comin' 13. Good Riddance (with Mark Hoppus and Travis Barker doing a Swiss songwriter trap beat production)1 point

Only song of those five I'm not fussed about is HCTS. Onboard with all four of the others1 point

I hope Dude Junior is rocking out with me in the next year or so. I should probably help him sign up on GDC as well. He's currently 4, and really likes the No Fun Mondays cover so maybe we'll do some of those . But yeah, this is a killer setlist. I'm maybe swap East Jesus Nowhere for Missing You, but this would be such a fun show to see Green Day play, and I know it's fun to play yourself. Very cool.1 point

Honestly I think Holy Toledo AND Pollyanna might be better than You Irritate Me. It's a solid demo track but it's still an unfinished demo of a track that wasn't good enough to be on Nimrod, Shenanigans or to be a B-side to any single from the Nimrod or Warning era. It's definitely better than Here Comes The Shock but Pollyanna, while it's not close to being a favourite of mine does sound more complete and like there was at least a bit more thought put into that track. If Pollyanna is better, it's only slightly better. Holy Toledo is definitely the best of their recently released songs though imo, even if it's also not a favourite of mine. I do hope the other Nimrod demos are decent tracks too but 1972 is really what I want to be real good. After FOAM, idk what to expect but I'm hoping for a better album. The band can take as long as they need to release it. I hope for an album that blows everything they've released since 2019 out of the water1 point

C'mon you can't say that the sniffin sound in Here Comes The Shock wasn't nice! I expected nothing more from Billie.1 point

This little snippet that Billie accidentally leaked sounds pretty heavy!!1 point

I would be a happy lil nimrod if 1972 turned out to be the heaviest green day album to date. Gimme some 1039 smooth style solos Billie (or Jason)1 point

Compared to the RevRad release party it was a letdown. Back then they played five or six songs from the album. Here they only played the same two singles from FOAM, made pretty glaring mistakes on about half the songs they did play, and pivoted to The Coverups with Dancing With Myself. They didn't seem to enjoy the interview all that much either. Then they moved to a private party that night and had a rip roaring good time. I just want Billie to keep writing about what he's feeling in the moment, whatever that is. They got so pegged as a political band but really they never were. They were politcally conscious because of where they came from, but all of Billie's songs, even the "political" ones, come from a personal place.1 point

I'm just happy they mentioned Kevin in there. 🙂1 point
