  1. I just met him in Berlin with his big hat on 😭

  2. The reason the US is in such a bad state is because of the republicans in power. The democrats aren't doing what they should be doing but the Republicans are actively making life worse for people. Abortion rights are threatened because conservative supreme justices are voting against it, republicans in the senate are the ones that vote against anything good like gun control, stimulus checks, infrastructure, minimum wage, healthcare

  3. Billie can live wherever the hell he wants, he isn't a politician and it's not his job to fix the US. And where he lives has no bearing on how much he can do to affect change.

  6. I think abortions are great. People should get them more so that Republicans can argue that limiting them would ruin the free market with Communism.

  7. Based on the Kerrang article, it seems like its only the album. I don't think they would freely mention the album, but keep an EP a secret.

  10. Honestly I am going to the concert with two friends, they are casual fans, loved them during AI, followed them during 21CB, know something from the Trilogy, maybe have heard something from the rest. That’s the set list they expect and want. One saw them live once, one never. They are 24 and 29. And I think they represent a good portion of their average audience. It’s only fair that they are getting it.

  12. Billie's not being effected by the shit things going on in the US. He's rich & famous. The people getting fucked over are women, the working class, poc, lgtbq and Billie being in the US isn't doing anything to help these people

  15. No, apart from the fact that I don't know how anyone with such views can be a Green Day fan when it goes against everything they've always stood for, the posts are simply off topic.

  18. If it's true that the album releases in 2023, I'm not expecting any announcement or major news for months

  19. I doubt they'll announce anything while on tour. It's possible, but I have a feeling they won't

  25. I think he is in the Uk for recording because he has a family member living there at least part time as well. And I know it is probably not ok to say this, but I think part of the reason he is pissed off at the US isn't political at all, I think it is because in the US, his family member got "cancelled", and even tho plenty of us feel it was warranted, in my opinion, I think the whole cancel culture and what happened, pisses Billie off. Any way, in short, I think he is there for personal reasons, and it works for him and his family. If this is totally inappropriate, mods can delete it.

  30. Two of the most important people in my life wouldn't be in my life if they didn't have their abortions. That's all I'm going to say about that absolutely ridiculous statement. anyway! Thanks for posting the scans. Can't read through the whole interview rn since I'm a bit sick, but I love the photos and the magazine cover is super cool.

  33. Last comment before it gets too offtopic: I think the US election system is more like „voting against a certain candidate“ than „voting for a certain candidate“. That‘s the problem when there are only two (major) options to vote for.

  36. I only read the first post of this thread (being the magazine scans). How the fuck are we talking about abortion, republicans and liberals in a Green Day Kerrang thread?
    1 point
  37. If you're pro-life, your goal should be reducing abortions. Voting republican is not the answer to reducing abortions Yes, terrorists would be far less likely to kill people without a gun. Maybe they would still kill people but the amount of people to die would definitely be much less. Idk how you can look at the rest of the world where gun culture is nowhere near what it is in the US that combined have a fraction of the mass shootings and say that gun control doesn't make a difference (or that it can even increase violent crime, like where's your source on that??) Donald Trump is not just an "asshole" and for you to say that is really concerning. Do you not think that Trump increasing drone strikes during his presidency to well above the numbers of the Obama administration is more than just being an "asshole"

  38. If you believe that the only time abortion is ever ok is rape or incest, then we're not living in the same reality. But you say that people don't know the stats on abortion, well that's the same for right wing people too because most right-wing people seem to think that everyone who's getting an abortion is getting a late term abortion when late term abortions are very uncommon and when they do happen is more often than not done if needed to save the mother's life or for some other reason outside of the parents control. Also interestingly, most anti-choice right-wingers are also opposed to giving free contraceptives (which would reduce abortions) and abortions are at their lowest under democratic presidents so if you actually cared about reducing abortions, there's your answer There is a clear connection between gun control and less gun deaths. The only reason violent crimes might be high in some places that have gun control in the US is that people bring guns from another state where gun laws are minimal. Outside of the US where guns are uncommon, there aren't school shootings. Yes, people can still kill other people but you can't just go into a school and kill 20 people with a knife. If these very frequent mass shootings aren't enough for you to go "you know what this is really fucked up, I like guns but we need to do something about this so that these evil monsters aren't able to get a gun", then idk what will Regarding liberals voting for Joe Biden, lesser of 2 evils. There, that's the argument. It doesn't matter what the republicans say, any republican president is just gonna be worse in terms of giving tax cuts to rich people, especially if there's a majority republican house/senate. You can say whatever shit you want about Biden, he sucks. But voting republican is never going to be a better alternative. Also Bernie advocating for rich people to pay their fair share and owning multiple homes is not hypocritical. Tax him, I'm sure he'll be completely ok with that. He's never said that people shouldn't be allowed to own multiple properties Healthcare is perfectly affordable if the US stops spending trillions of dollars a year on the military, war, tax cuts for the rich, overfunded police (who do nothing when there's a school shooting happening so what's even the point)

  39. One thing I don't understand, is that why would they start teasing a 2023 release in 2021? Yes, I know, December, but still...

  40. I have my criticisms of Green Day's setlist but is everyone forgetting that they played Still Breathing every night for Hella Mega. And Pollyanna The only albums getting ignored are the trilogy and FOAMF. If those albums were universally liked by the fanbase, they'd definitely be playing at least 1-2 tracks from them. Yes, RevRad hasn't gotten any plays in 2022 yet but they've only had 4 performances and I'm sure SB's gonna be back on the setlist for the European Hella Mega dates (although I'd prefer BB live over SB)

  43. I don’t either. It’s natural to feel the problems that are the closest to you the strongest - no one has the capacity to care about everything to the same extent, plus honestly, you guys objectively have it a lot worse than we do in a lot of aspects. I was just poking fun at him, but in reality, this is a sentiment I see a lot among US immigrants - they have their own little community that’s kind of distant from locals and they’re happy to live in a place where they’re not bothered by stuff like welfare insecurity and gun violence.

  44. What if we're getting more music than we think?!?!? What if we're getting a 6 track 1972 EP this year, recorded at RAK in London, and a full length rock opera next year, recorded at Ocean Way and Hanson?!?!?!?!?
    1 point
  45. Grass is always greener, Billie. I can see the London thing being heavily criticized. It's easy when you're super rich to be a "citizen of the world." I get what he's saying but it reeks of privilege. So much for being an advocate of change. Just peace out, I guess.

  46. Bang Bang brought me back to Green Day. I listened to it off of someone's recommendation, and well, I'm still here 6 years later. And I have nothing but praise for RevRad (both the album and the era). I'm also surprised the song was dropped from the playlist. Be nice if they brought it back and finally dropped KYE. As for the general public reception, I think the feeling was "GD is back" after everything that was the trilogy (not knocking the trilogy at all). I do feel AI was the more important single, since it helped launch them into the stratosphere (even if some fans weren't happy about it), whereas Bang Bang was more comfort food.

  47. I really thought Bang Bang was going to be a setlist mainstay when it was reworked as a guitar free St Jimmy like performance during the 2019 promotion cycle with Kevin filling in. It was such a highlight of those shows I was surprised to see it missing from Hella Mega. Hopefully it just missed the greatest hits cut and will return to the regular set on the next tour. It was one of my favorites of 2019 and one of the best things to come out of RevRad.
