When there’s lack of entertainment you tend to hang your head low and complain and when we do get some teasers you jump on the bandwagon and say it’s the best run they’ve ever had. Better to not have any expectations8 points

With all of the shows and festivals coming up, I have a hard time imagining the band won't want to have something new out within the next two months.7 points
-
I don't understand this... they were literally just in London working on it until like a week ago. Hold your horses, things take time. You wouldn't want them burning out either like Billie did during the trilogy. (I know it was WAY MORE than that but, burnout definitely played a role imo)7 points

Because they didn’t do the typical press and promo on the Hella Mega, we actually haven’t had a feature interview with the band since 2019 (maybe early 2020?). That’s what I’m most eager for.6 points

Missed that. Not sure if someone pointed this out but the car in the video has a left seat driver, so that was back in the US already 🙃6 points

Well technically the only promo for Max Creeps that was GD-related was one instagram story post by Billie and two pics on instagram. So 1972 had much more promotion so far. And did MM2020 had any hints or teasers before the announcement on instagram? It was just us who took Max Creeps to the next level 😄5 points

Well it's been a long time coming, but I finally made the compilation. I'm super happy with how it turned out! Thank you to everyone who suggested things to me! Here is the final product:5 points

Max Creeps was super disappointing! And now the 1972 thread is dead. What a shit storm of nothing. I wish as much thought and intrigue was put into Green Day. Lack of passion! What do they need?! The band needs to go on an adventure and get some excitement/inspiration going for Green Day! They seem to be bored in their mansions and private planes or something like that.5 points

May 4th is actually a horrible day for me so if Green Day releases anything that day it'll just make it 1000x better3 points
-
I'm feeling a single in early May Or they could release it on the same day as Obi Wan Kenobi and make a very memorable occasion3 points
-
I want to hear song titles before the album release, like the Breakdown promotion. I was watching a bunch of Billie interviews last nights in hopes of making a funny fake interview, but didn't find any inspiration. Maybe soon.3 points

New book out today from music journalist Ian Winwood about the perils of the music industry. Green Day is included. I have the ebook and just started it and I highly recommend it:3 points

1972 should have a VR release. You live in 1972 for the length of the album, and at the very end, you witness the birth of the members of Green Day. There are subliminal glimpses of a Trans Am in the background, hinting that The Network played a part or are even the parents of Green Day.2 points

Green Day should record a cover of the Angry Video Game Nerd theme song.2 points

That one too. It's not on a studio record, so I let it slide. We're never going to hear Shenanigans tracks live either, and that's a gosh darn travesty. It’s one if not their best album.. Yes, I said it.2 points

You know, I feel they're were very nostalgic about all this 1972 thing that they thought why not bring Rob to be part of it. He is the man who has been almost in all GD career, who produced their best records, so I'm glad he's back.2 points

The promo and teasers for 1972 isn’t even close to the excitement Max Creeps generated. The band seemed more excited about the Network than they do about 1972. Hopefully it’s because all the imagination and passion is going into the record instead of teasers. If the record is done soon I hope the strategy of the promos are more consistent or at least more interesting going forward.1 point

Hopefully they'll ramp up the teasing within the next few weeks! Or if we're lucky, I hope we get an announcement!!1 point

Absolutely. Opening the set with WTP is also just badass, beats KYE any day. That said, I like how they played the odd 21CB song such as Murder City (or East Jesus during other gigs), they barely do that anymore. The most we can hope to hear from that album these days is KYE or 21 Guns. In a lot of ways a more stripped down high energy version of Green Day could have worked, it's just that both Billie's condition and the trilogy's overall execution did not quite allow for it. But watching this show I can certainly see what they were trying to do.1 point

Just watched the footage of the secret show at Reading 2012. The Trilogy Promo Tour would have been so amazing if Billie‘s health was in better condition1 point

One week is a heck of a long album, I expected it to be around 50-80 minutes1 point

I know it was already said but Billie Joe with red hair give me big Gerard Way vibes. I hope 1972 will have a lot of NANA NANANANANA NANA in the lyrics! I'm ready! Or reddy1 point

The whole public perception of the band and the trilogy changed after the iHeart Radio incident. There was a lot of hype and critical acclaim before shit hit the fan. It absolutely would have been received better if things went as planned.1 point

Time’s been kind to it, at least among fan circles. It’s not that bad at all, but a project on that scale just needed a little longer to cook but I think they were feeling pressure to get it out in 2012. Besides, the impression I got from Cuatro is that he was pretty hands off with the whole thing. I do think if he had a stronger role in the trilogy it probably would’ve been more fully realized but I don’t blame or vilify I’m for that. From what little we’ve seen of 1972 so far he seems involved and engaged, which gives me confidence.1 point
-
I give him a pass for the trilogy, it's not as bad as people make it out to be. And again assuming the hair dye is new and not from 2020/21, if it were for something official like a video he'd have Duke do it, he wouldn't do it himself.1 point
-
The one where they make the greatest album of their career. He’s never done red before because the band knew their best was yet to come. Dare I say it may be their magnum opus?1 point
-
But wasn’t Rob with them recently in the UK? Could be joining now for mixing sessions. Or maybe they were just demoing in the UK and are now starting recording. Who knows! Maybe the band will keep us up to date on socials this time around.1 point

And unless the video was taken a long time ago, it seems to suggest that things really are as early as I thought they were. Again I have no problem with this at all because I've expressed that I want the boys to take as much time as they need to get this right. I can live for a little while without new material any time soon, especially now that I poured bleach into my ears to try and cleanse them of whatever the fuck that Max Creeps shit was. ...Yeah it didn't work out so well and I'm gonna need some time before I can hear anything again.1 point
-
It is, it feels right. He’s their George Martin they need him to find their way back to something special. I would love to know the conversation that happened when that decision went down.1 point

The first time I met Tre Cool was right after I entered college. His wife Sara Rose was doing a show so of course, I went (in case you haven't heard her sing she's amazing) No surprise Tre was being a supportive husband and there too. I basically lost my shit when I saw him. I'm pretty sure my heart stopped for a good two beats or so. I was just so shocked. Like you live all your life saying that one day you're gonna meet them and then the day comes and you're not 100% sure that you're awake. It's not another dream. He's actually there. I was basically frozen and just watching him from a distance as I saw him helping One Less Zero (the name of the band) set up and by the time I manage to unfreeze myself they were playing and a small mosh pit had started. So I went in and so did Tre. SO I WAS IN A MOSH PIT WITH TRE FUCKEN COOL. And if that wasn't cool enough (being a tiny excuse of a human) this dude twice my size bump into me a bit to hard and I lost my balance and so did the guy that bump into me so before I was crushed under this massive man Tre grabbed my arm as I started falling and freaking pulled me towards him. TRE COOL GRABBED MY ARM AND SAVED ME FROM A FALLING AVALANCHE OF A MAN!!!!! I was so stunned I didn't let go. I just slowly looking at his arm (very muscular XD) and up towards his face and he just kinda smiled and gave a smirk. To date, that was the best day of my life. After the set I went backstage (it was an open place so I wasn't sneaking past security or anything) and I hung out with him for a while and his wife gave me a bunch of free merch from her band. If my friend hadn't told me how long I had been hanging out with him woulda never left his side. Overall, this memory brings the biggest stupidest smile on my face. It's like it just happened yesterday. Best fucken day ever.1 point
