I would just like to show some love to this wonderful elderly woman moving and snapping her fingers to Green Day playing Castaway on the Chris Isaak Show; all while other people were making stilted dance motions as if they never grooved to anything outside the Top 40. For this, I say we honor her. Never forghetti Castaway Granny7 points

Alright someone get this man his fix and yes that someone will be me. The new EP is revealed to be a spite record, detailing the long running feud between Green Day and none other than Mr Robert Downey Jnr. The boys take swipes at every opportunity. Each song is titled off a RDJ film, only they pick the ones that sound like pornos to give him the big middle finger. Revenge is a dish best served...in an EP. Green Day - Songs for an Asshole 1. Bowfinger 2. One Night Stand 3. Two Girls and a Guy 4. Dolittle 5. Hugo Pool 6. Kiss Kiss Bang Bang 7. Stab You (Robert Downey Jnr) in the Heart (HIDDEN TRACK)4 points

And a super secret track called Iron Man. It's part Black Sabbath, part original Green Day song and talks about how corrupt the Marvel cinematic universe is. Rumor has it that all three Spider-men sing backing vocals though3 points

I saw that too but I’m so afraid of disappointment I had to remind myself this could mean COFFEE products not music3 points

The album will be a Tik Tok Exclusive? They knew I've been avoiding their app and they've exploited my only weakness. Touché, Tik Tok. Touché.3 points

I've been deep diving music that influenced Green Day and I finally 'get' The Replacements. Oh, man. I don't know why it took so much time to enjoy their sound.2 points

My guess: 1972: inspired green day ep followed a few months later by and uninspired green day LP (foam 2(2 points

That’s an amazing snapshot of a moment in time. Also interesting to see that was how their roadie Timmy Chunks first discovered them and that his band opened for them at that show.2 points

10 Musicians That Are Embracing Sustainability Green Day As early as 2006, punk rock band Green Day was already working on a Move America Beyond Oil campaign with the NRDC in hopes of inspiring young people to move toward renewable energies. “This campaign is about channeling the power of millions into something positive and powerful. People are sick of our oil addiction and feel like nobody is doing anything about it,” Billie Joe Armstrong, lead singer and guitarist of Green Day, said. “The solutions are there, the support is there, but the leadership is not. Our message is that it’s okay, and very rebellious, to take on that responsibility.” Green Day has supported various other charities and campaigns, including creating a charity drive after Hurricane Katrina and donating to victims of Hurricane Harvey. Outside of music, the band members also founded Oakland Coffee Works, which sells coffee in certified biodegradable bags and pods to eliminate plastic waste. https://www.ecowatch.com/musicians-embracing-sustainability.html2 points

You got me looking up the limits of EPs to see how long this thing could be, haha. 30 minutes or less is an EP. I think now is a good time for FOAM Part II: We Also Told You So!2 points

I log in once in a while, and what do I see? Green Day are breaking up? "You are not leaving this band unless you're in the coffin". Once you're in, you're in for good. There is no turning back from being in Green Day, nor being its fan. There are only 2 types of people: the ones who are Green Day fans, and the others who lie about it. Suck it up and get ready for the next record2 points

It is indeed from that performance, and bloody gorgeous is the only description for Billie 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥1 point

Love them but didn’t appreciate them back in the eighties because the radio only played what I thought were their worst songs. I saw them open for Elvis Costello in 1991 but didn’t remember I did until I read their biography recently 😄 It described a show I was at1 point

He was actually decoupling the tracks through AI to try and recreate multitracks - which points to a remix more than a re-record, although I have no idea why they would randomly remix they already missed the anniversary1 point

The only thing I saw was on Instagram last week while looking for #1972 but it's clearly fake. The half 2 in the bottom left is probably made on Paint lol https://www.instagram.com/p/CYbmHZjA4bP/1 point

They did release a live EP during 21st CB though It feels like a new album. If that's what your perspective is for something big then bingo. I don't think they'll ever go as big as they did with some albums in the past. Based on how the last few singles sounded if they can just get really focused it could be a decent album.1 point
-
They didn’t really hype up the last few singles that much other than, “Oh hey we got a new song coming this Friday” except for Pollyanna with that quick studio teaser video. The way they’re acting with 1972 tells me it’s gonna be big!!!1 point
-
Considering they haven’t released an EP since the Lookout days, I don’t know how you could conclude that. Even singles get hyped these days.1 point

Had a dream that my sister texted me that Adrienne was at our parents' house with her kids (who were still small). When I got there, they had left, but left behind an Armstrong family history book that was several hundred pages, full of pictures, articles, etc. Woke up before I had a chance to go through it though.1 point

So,Tre and Mike think they are about to release a new album, but on the day....Billie cancels the release and says he done with singing and is becoming a potato chip model.1 point

mmm this breakup talk really needs to stop lol really? people are just coming to the conclusion that they are breaking up because of the sound of a 20 second clip and his face? cmon guys, this is GD we’re talking about1 point

Interesting, thank you! 200 is insane, but out of 1,706+ shows there could definitely be someone crazier. Someone should make a documentary about Green Day fans so we can all let our Green Flags Fly......on TV!1 point

Warning is such an overlooked album. So many great songs, which fit together very well. Bbc sessions just coloured it more.1 point
