Oh no itโs spreading https://www.radio.com/music/rock/is-billie-joe-armstrong-running-for-president A part of me wants this to catch on, because it would be funny, but at the same time Iโm thinking โoh no everybody is going to think Billie is a total buffoon againโ5 points

I was curious about the address, so I googled it. It's a car dealership (Chevy/GM). ๐คฃ๐ Oh man... Yahoo news got PLAYED!5 points

I can't explain how much love I have for this record, I fall in love with it at each new listen. This is a underrated masterpiece, so glad it got this re-release5 points

They should have put Mike Dirnt as his Vice and then accuse BJA of colluding with Putin.4 points

You'll have to put Billie in a coffin before you bury him. That's the only way he's leaving Green Day.4 points

Ah yes, the Insomniac. Like a fine wine, gets better with age.3 points

Well that was fun waiting for this to appear at midnight. I started to listen on Spotify and then eight videos popped up on YouTube. Watched all those instead so rad!3 points

This is why we need him back on Instagram. He would totally have shared this and had a laugh with us about it. ๐ข3 points

Digital sounds great. I definitely notice a bit more separation between the instruments with the remaster. Excited for the vinyl.3 points

ironic for a statement like this to come from Eric, GDC's resident complainer2 points
-
I'm surprised at how much of a noticeable difference there is in the remaster. The bass definitely stands out way more and the guitars feel less in your face.2 points

They uploaded videos of Prague 1996 on their Youtube. Playlist: Digital Insomniac 25th Deluxe Version is now on Spotify/Apple Music and for sale on Amazon and iTunes. https://music.apple.com/album/insomniac-25th-anniversary-deluxe-edition/1557550800 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08YCX4QY7/ref=dm_ws_sp_ps_dp2 points

Cool! I assume this means the Prague tracks will also be on Spotify ๐ Some photos of the inner sleeve here with some great unseen pics https://www.instagram.com/p/CMiyIn3JqIs/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link2 points

I was waiting for that picture! @ the people who are worried about him falling out, the window is not open (you can see the reflections of the room in the glass). He's an idiot, but a safe one. He could fall backwards, but probably wouldn't hurt himself too bad. He'd just look like an even bigger jackass than usual. That's why we love him.2 points

I bet they cut down on some of that to ensure all the songs fit on one side of a record. I'm definitely missing "this is our last FUCKING song" before 861 point

Also - for anyone still looking - looks like the UK store has the Glow in the Dark Exclusive back in stock. https://greenday.warnerartists.net/uk/no-fun-mondays.html1 point

I am impressed of the really good sound, and it respects the old style! And the vinyl is amazing!1 point

I watched it this morning. It's cool having new stuff constantly from those guys! (Well even if it's old new stuff)1 point

Around the time they announced that 2008 tour, they announced they recruited Kevin as a touring member, and that he had nothing to do with the actual recording of the album. It was Billie and Jason who did all the guitars. I canโt remember if it was a press release, a MySpace bulletin or whatever, or if itโs still online somewhere, but I swear I vividly remember reading them say that at the time1 point

Looks like they censored the faces of people in the crowd. Weird1 point

Sorry, I wasn't disputing what you said and didn't mean to sound offhand. If anything I'm criticising people who, in my opinion, have knowingly and deliberately jumped the line. Maybe I'll have a few less FB friends tomorrow if they see this Anyway I'm off topic. I don't think this pic of Tre and Sara has been posted before https://www.instagram.com/p/CMifCbtnAYH/?igshid=t7qw5ognugqk1 point

Even if this is it and theyโre at the stage of their career when they release b-sides and forget lyrics, itโs okay. Theyโve had a great career.1 point

not really. No one outside the fanbase cared for them since 21st and it's a fact. A sad one but it's a fact. They gave awesome shows (saw them 3 times the revrad tour) but nobody cared. "old " Rock bands that are doing ok are Muse, The Killers, Foo Fighters, compare the numbers, it's notable at least how much their popularity decreased. I'll repeat again in case i was misunderstood. I don't care about their commercial success but it's so obvious they do and are so frustrated about it (specially BIllie). It reminds me a lot of Rivers Cuomo circa 2009. When Rivers stopped caring about it, he made better music, the same would apply to GD i bet.. you're not getting it. They are not "taking risks"... they are not "evolving" and they do feel like geezers nowadays. They used to be everything you said but like a decade ago. I'm not pissed at them, i'm dissapointed. You think i'm one of those guys who just likes dookie or AI? lol i actually enjoy the trilogy and can listen to the 3 full albums. It's ok to like these songs but don't call this evolution, is as simple as it gets, it's like they're not even trying. Look at bands like Muse and Arctic Monkeys, they are trying shit, evolving and whatever. GD feels more in synthony with U2 or something like that. At least they're not like Coldplay or Maroon 5 that are completely sell outs i guess. And their "live game" is so strong but don't try to convince us these songs are so great and we don't have taste or something like that cuz it's the other way around. It's ok to criticize the band you love and in this case neccesary because again.. they're not doing anything wrong, they're just lazy and mediocre at best.. Still breathing is a great song and oh yeah was ok.. but neither of them went viral or something like that. Again, just ask anyone outside of the fanbase and wouldn't even know GD is active. i can't like this comment more. So true. Some fans here seem to be just like everything they do even if it's shit and i'm not a hater as you might think. Hell i traveled the whole world to see them and would do it again (if not for covid) . I just want them to be better because i know they can. Here comes the shark could have been written and performed by any punk band. GD always brought something extra to the table. Think of it like this... When you hear that song, do you have goosebumps? do you think any new fan can come from that song? Is it at the same height like boulevard of broken dreams , jesus of suburbia, forever now, etc?1 point
-
Yeah thats why I said it "probably" wouldn't reach 21CB success. Definitely won't rule it out though. I'd love to be shown wrong though. Also, the fact that RevRad did as well as it did in 2016 though despite the falling status of rock music is another reason why I consider it more successful than the trilogy. Rock music was still quite well known in 2012 which makes the trilogy even more of a disappointment commercially. I still don't get why the Network album is so beloved here. I listened to it recently and despite a couple decent tracks, I'm not seeing it It's almost as if he's a hypocrite... But that couldn't be, right? Seriously though, all of Eric's posts are the exact same lol1 point

The best comments under this song on Youtube: I feel like thisโs a Nickelodeon show theme song The song is so bad that the band didn't even bother showing up for the video. This sounds like an auto generated Green Day song So true ๐ omg this song is bad.1 point

It was really amazing. I think it easily could be one of their best shows from the 90s. It's something that you could go back and watch the whole thing again once in a while, I'll definetly do it!1 point
