  1. I wonder if Billie gets as annoyed as us fans about people spelling his name "Billy".

  2. Android is such an underrated song. Actually, Kerplunk in its entirety is criminally underrated, as is Warning

  3. Don't worry I'll do very well in that exam, because I perfected the science of the idiot Just an excuse to use one of my favorite lyrics ever

  4. That sounds like you're revising before an exam

  5. I'm not doing a Green Day hiatus... I only really listen to RevRad lately, but right before the show I'm planning to go through the whole discography

  6. It is religion for me to rock a band I have tickets for right up to the show, then I stop a bit afterwards to keep the sounds of the live show echoing throughout my brain for the next few days! Especially when it is one of my favorite bands. I will be rocking GD all the way up to March, driving the girlfriend nuts. After that it'll be a lot of Obituary and Kreator for a show in April, then a lot of Guns N' Roses up to August. Unless GD announces Toronto between now and then, probably will when my funds are gasping for air.

  7. No GD hiatus for me. Every time my Dad comes into my room when I'm listening to my IPad he says "Green Day, again". And every time I'm listening to GD! I guess I need to know the lyrics for when I see them live- that's my excuse for listening to them a lot recently..

  9. The best exam of this exam season for sure!

  10. Maybe I've already said it a couple of times on this forum: from Christmas to the 14th of January (concert) GD is forbidden for my ears. I think I'm going to bury my iPad underground during those days. I will suffer, I know. But at least I'll do it for a great cause.

  11. I also have that problem when listening to RevRad. Now, I also tend to skip Boulevard of Broken Dreams on a listen of AI and Know Your Enemy on 21CB because I've simply overplayed them and they are not my favorite tracks on the respective albums.

  12. Yep. I experience this too. I think it's because it stands out less that way and I'm usually more interested in hearing the rest of the album than the song I've heard a thousand times.

  13. That's definitely unpopular. I have probably listened to the album everyday since it's release and never skip any tracks. Seems to just get better and better and songs I thought were not as good as they could have been have all grown on me immensely! Those would be Outlaws and Bouncing Of The Walls, but I love the shit out of Bouncing now! Short and sweet

  14. I have an unpopular opinion. As much as I love Bang Bang, I think it is one of the weaker tracks on Rev Rad.

  15. If only all exams were as easy and fun to study for!

  16. I know this is so random, but just now I noticed that the end of the guitar solo of Before the Lobotomy is EXACTLY like the one of Oh Love. I feel so bad for never listening to BTL... I always skip it on 21CB. Maybe the last time i listened to it was like three years ago. That's why I discovered this thing only now. Welcome to the Green Day exam. The exam "of your life". There is only a rule: make the best of this test and don't ask why. If you get stuck with a question remember: "It's not a question but a lesson learned in time". Because it's something unpredictable, but in the end is right. I hope you have the time of your life.

  17. I'm still undecided about beginning a hiatus about a week or two before the gig. But I've still got another 7 weeks until I see them, so it's still a bit too soon to be thinking about a hiatus. Also, I was on holiday when Rev Rad came out and I was unable to buy the CD until after I came home- therefore I've not listened to it as much as everyone else here.... yet . One thing I definitely won't be doing before the gig is looking at the setlists from the previous gigs as it would be nice to have surprises at my gig.

  18. I'm not doing it on purpose but no Green Day is planned until Jan 1st. That's when I watch AAF. Watching HLAHG made me think I must have overplayed AI more than I knew. It was boring. I don't listen to them often anyway - except for revrad.

  19. That too. but I still think the end of AI and the beginning of JOS sound cool together.

  20. I got so used to people fucking up my name that I don't even correct them or hardly notice when they do. I don't think many people with often misspelled or mispronounced names are too bothered - explaining your weird name gets boring after first couple hundred times and so does answering questions like "where did your parents find it?" or "What language is it from?". You end up having a long-ass, awkward conversation about your name and family. And in the end people go "so it is X" and say/spell it totally wrong again. The best thing he can do is to get used to the fact that people are too dumb for his name.

  21. welcome to the forum! you can join the discussion about the HBO American Idiot movie here

  22. Hi guys. I'm a suburban wife and mother who has loved Green Day since AI, and the recent AMA performance rekindled my love for them. I have found myself getting immersed in Green Day related YouTube videos lately and looking up the latest news about them. I'm not sure if I'm posting in the right topic, but I haven't seen much on here about the HBO movie version of American Idiot. Any opinions on Billie Joe playing St Jimmy? Do you think he can pull off playing this character at his age, and do you think HBO will let him do it? I know he was fantastic on Broadway, but that was quite a few years ago. I know, he still looks very young. But I don't know how it will be received. Also, is the project a definite go?

  23. Yeah, if there's one thing I can say about the album it's that Tré is absolutely on fire throughout, the drumming's amazing.

  24. It's utterly fantastic, the only RevRad song I like and I love it. Though, saying that, related unpopular opinion - it works much better on its own. I've thought it's one of the best punk songs in recent years since it first came out and I still do, but on the album I found it underwhelming even though it's still the same thing, I think it's much more powerful as a standalone statement.

  25. I still find it boring and I skip it every single time. I agree that the lyrics are great though. I hope it ends up growing on me too, I'll try not to skip it

  26. Outlaws continues to grow on me with every listen. Found it to be the most boring on the entire album originally but the lyrics are great, love when it's gets to the I got no supervision line onwards, best part in the song right to the end.

  27. This is how Americans sound to me all the time. Australians are allergic to pronouncing R's unless they're at the beginning of words, so a hard R is a hard R regardless to my ears (and Americans bloody love their R's ).

  28. Haha! I actually quite like that, one of my favourite things about Outlaws is all the elongated words it's fun to sing! There was another annoying thing about a song I thought of last night but I can't remember what it was or even the song

  29. I tend to listen to their earlier live albums whenever I'm tired of the studio albums.
