And my itunes playlist is at 193 and that doesn't count the times I've watched the video. I kind of like the song.4 points

Imagine how awesome it'll be the first time you hear it with the album and the title track will come right after.3 points

CDs are lossless, the reason the HDtracks versions sound better is because they're a different master that's less squashed and compressed.3 points

I agree, I'm experiencing the same thing right now- I was afraid I'd get sick of it, but it's getting better with each play. And I think I've listened to it over 50 times. They throw so much at you throughout the song. I love how they structured it, and the musicianship is top notch. I could probably listen to Tre's drum solo for 10 hours straight and not get bored. I keep comparing this with KYE- I wasn't able to listen to that one more than a few times without it getting repetitive. I knew right away that KYE was a 3 out of 10 as far as GD songs go. This one is a 9.5 and I am convinced I'll still feel that way 10 years from now. Great recommendation, I will absolutely check out that format. Glad you're back and adding value as always! This will be great for the re-listening of previous albums while we wait for RevRad to come out. This single is going to do very well. I usually don't care at all about chart performance, but in this case I am so happy for the band to see this unfolding with BB- I don't think it will be AI huge, but it is going to be one of the biggest rock tracks of the year. I could feel this coming when my semi-fan friends started texting me about their excitement over the song; these are the types of folks that really got into AI and Dookie but not much else. It's a bit of a leap since we haven't heard any of the other tracks, but based on early feedback about the album (Kerrang had some incredibly positive things to say), I think RevRad is going to be a big one. Again, not AI/ Dookie success- that's a high bar, and I believe the music landscape has changed too much to allow a repeat of that type of mainstream reception- but I fully expect this to be the rock album of the year. No pressure guys!3 points

Sounds like it comes later, as they mentioned that this is the highest debut in a year.3 points

To me it sounds like he's coughing because of singing too hard, I think it's awesome haha2 points

I've only listened to it about 5 times. I don't want it to get overplayed by the time the album comes out. I may not listen to the second single at all - it bugs me that I already know two songs out of 12. No need for more. Holy fuck! You average at 92 minutes of Bang Bang a day Damn, off to listen to Jinx2 points

I'm only at 117, I feel like a slacker. But I watched the video many many other times before I managed to get ahold of it on iTunes, so.2 points

I'm on 216! It's an alright song I guess. Not too fussed. Was trying to think what Nimrod song the guitar in Bang Bang sounds like and just realised, it's Jinx!2 points

2million, in less than a week, on a lyric video has to be some sort of record somewhere. lol2 points

Yeah, I've had it on for hours at a time and it's just been awesome every bloody time.2 points

Green Day's "Bang Bang" may reach alternative radio's Top 10 in just its second week (and first full week) of availability. Despite launching late in the tracking period, Green Day’s “Bang Bang” debuted at #17 on last week’s Mediabase alternative airplay chart. It may reach the Top 10 this week. The new single received 521 spins during the first two days of the August 14-20 tracking period. The count positions “Bang Bang” at #9 on Mediabase’s building chart. Because the week is still young — and because airplay for new songs can be erratic — one cannot yet guarantee “Bang Bang” will reach the Top 10. What one can say with certainty, however, is that alternative radio is expressing significant early interest in the single. http://headlineplanet.com/home/2016/08/16/green-days-bang-bang-trending-top-10-alternative-radio/2 points

One thing that helps a bit is FLAC if you have players that support it. Less compression than CD/AAC/MP3, you can play it louder, and you get a slightly richer sound out of it (hell, even Horseshoes & Handgrenades kicks up a half-notch when you listen to its FLAC copy). American Idiot, 21st CB, and the Trilogy are all available on FLAC and you can bet your ass I'll buy RevRad when it's released in that format. P.S. Thanks to Matt for introducing me to that format.2 points

The radio announcer said this is Tre Cool of GD with Basket case first time I have heard it announced this way. Oh ok I get it they are playing great drumming songs.1 point

I'm limiting the times of play of this song, don't wanna get tired of it just yet. Today I listened to it twice. Done for the day.1 point

I can't believe this song is already a week old—time flies! This time last week my heart was pounding waiting for it to start. That debut is definitely something I'm going to remember.1 point
-
I think the trilogy started out very successfully, but then after the iHeart incident things started to fall apart, promotion wise. And Oh Love is still more radio friendly than the other singles, I guess that's why.1 point

First, I was disappointed by the song cause it was not what I excepectedfor the return of Green Day. But now I really like it and I think the lyrics are very clever.1 point

uhhh while I'm not a Metallica fan at all but they still sell out huge tours yearly bunch of fans still waiting for a new album plus the impact they made... come on now...1 point

Yeah...those prices seem a bit wild to me. I guess it's a good thing to have lots of responsibilities and a nagging boyfriend reminding me of my priorities if I get carried away. Not that I'd ever get THAT carried away1 point

Only time I've seen Look For Love go for over $1000 was when it was signed by Billie Joe! Normally they go for about $500. As for Laytonville records, it's only the coloured ones that are normally the high end price.1 point

i haven't listened to it in a day (longest ever), cause i thought i needed a break from it just for a bit. but it's a sunny day outside today, so looks like i'm going to be blasting it with my windows down on the way home from work today1 point
-
Trying not to overplay it because as I know as soon as the album comes out I'll skip this song...need to hear the whole flow of the entire album, gonna be hard not to skip this single knowing there other absolute bangers on the album after it hahahaha!1 point

I thought "Hero of the Hour" would have been a good song title because it probably would have pissed at least a few people off lol1 point

I'm loving Bang Bang and if the rest of the album sounds like that, I'll be very pleased! But I'm not really enjoying Ordinary World. I know there's a good chance it'll sound different on the album but I don't think it'll make that much of a difference. And I've listened to it a good few times. It seems kinda like the song Drama Queen which is another 'meh' song to me. I don't want it to sound like that. This song doesn't even compare to other slower songs that Green Day have done I would've much preferred to see Devil's Kind on the record. I love the vibe that gives off and I think a studio version would sound epic.1 point

Here are the final results from the Rolling Stone Top 10 Green Day Deep Cuts. Spoiler alert, there is a lot from American Idiot. http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/readers-poll-10-best-green-day-deep-cuts-w4346111 point

The write up isn't exactly flattering and they spelled his name wrong, but it is nice to see Billie's guitar skills recognized, sort of. 10. DAVE GROHL, JACK WHITE, JOHN FRUSCIANTE, JOHNNY MARR, KURT COBAIN, BILLY JOE ARMSTRONG: These guys are creeping onto the radar. Because of their playing? No, because producers are getting younger and the older ones are retiring. And because consumers are from this generation of players. The next nine guys are still in the lead, but these guys are coming on strong. http://www.guitarworld.com/news-gear-galleries-blogs/session-guitar-top-10-guitarists-emulate-successful-studio-career/231711 point

Still listening to this on repeat. It's so good! I know I'll end up not liking it as much because I've overplayed it but I don't want to listen to anything else, haha.1 point

The fact that no one in my real life can share the excitement about GD coming back is just frustrating. I just watched the bang bang lyrics video and got all hyper again, I can even feel my heart racing1 point

Florence Welch on Covering Green Day It's hard to imagine, but you were really into skate punk. The first CD I ever bought was Green Day's Dookie. It was my first clue that there could be a whole identity around the music you liked. I had the shoes and the world's baggiest cords. The only thing I didn't have was a skateboard. You even recorded a complete cover of Green Day's Nimrod a few years ago. I was going to see punk bands, and [producer-artist] Dev Hynes and I bonded. We were talking about how we loved Nimrod, and we recorded it in his kitchen with just his guitar. It's out there on the Internet! Later, I met Billie Joe Armstrong, and he told me he liked it. My 13-year-old self's head was exploding somewhere in the past. http://www.rollingstone.com/music/features/florence-welch-talks-covering-green-day-quitting-drinking-201605111 point
