  1. I'm actually glad they didn't make a big deal of the American Idiot 10th anniversary. I don't think it'd have done them good to continue milking that album after they'd already made a big deal about Dookie the previous year. It wouldn't have gone down well to focus on old albums in back to back years, especially given how poorly the Trilogy did. I mean generally speaking they've milked the cash cow of American Idiot absolutely dry. Obviously it's a very significant album, and on a personal level it's undoubtedly the most important record ever released, but it needs leaving alone at this point.

  7. An audible in a set list is a song that can be changed to something else during the show. Sort of a "we could play Jaded, or we could play The Judge's Daughter".

  15. Both of you put WICA in the wrong place. I like the WICA around bass line better than Longview. There, I said it!

  19. Sassafras Roots, When I Come Around, Having A Blast, She, Coming Clean, Basket Case, Burnout, Pulling Teeth, Emenius Sleepus, Chump, Welcome To Paradise, FOD, In The End, Longview. Bite me. There's also the fact that the band have said the recording process of American Idiot was the most fun they've ever had. It's possible to write music full of large-scale displeasure with politics and the general state of the world and still be in a good place on a personal level.

  20. Yes, but to over analyze them to the point of assuming the band members are "unhappy with their lives" while writing them is just silly. Especially to assume American Idiot is a "cry for help" — it's an allegory of Billie's younger days, if anything — or 21CB is indicative of real-life "giving up." The band was on top of the world after American Idiot came out, so that interpretation of 21CB's intentions makes no sense to me. And we've already beaten the trilogy's proverbial dead horse to death. I know music often comes from an inspired place, and sometimes that warrants some reading between the lines, but people on this site have a tendency to over analyze to the extreme.

  26. OK I will give you a challenge - setlist of only trilogy songs - has to be a normal length concert say 28 songs.

  27. They might make a Makeout Party remake while they're at it. Lil's enlightened insight into poetry could really make it perfect. They're not full of happiness, either.

  30. I have a horrible cold, including a fever the last couple of nights, and all the times I've woken up in a cold sweat during the night I've immediately thought of "I woke up in a pool of sweat, at first I thought that I pissed the bed" , which has made it slightly more bearable.
