  1. Green Day mentioned in this article on 20 bands overdue to play in Indianapolis. http://www.indystar.com/story/entertainment/music/2014/11/01/styles-niall-direction-beyonce-rihanna-kanye-u2-stones-indianapolis/18308267/

  4. I was a little disappointed they did it with Jimmy Barnes though, as it means that most of the tickets are seated and the standing spots are up the back. Really doesn't fit the living end at all. I was going to go to it until they announced the headline shows. It would be really cool if GD did it. I would put The Living End to play with them but I am not sure who else would fit there.

  8. Thankfully Green Day rarely responds to any criticism. I'm sure it'd drive them all a bit nutty having to comment every time Johnny Rotten bitches.

  9. Billie needs to make an acoustic Christmas album. I listened to the one made by the lead singer of the Fray and I need to hear Billie singing Christmas songs.

  13. So I'm playing the AAF version of "Going to Pasalacqua" on our common room's speaker, and one of the people sitting here with me just asked "What language is this in?" Good to know that whatever country I'm in, Billie's vocals will still be incoherent.

  18. I've never found Ninrod. to be anywhere near as all over the place as people say it is. There are obvious outliers--KFAD, Take Back, Good Riddance--but on the whole I think the songs have a very cohesive sound. They're all classic melodic four-chord Green Day, and the production and instrumentation don't vary incredibly from song to song. If anything Warning is far more a clusterfuck in terms of consistency than Nimrod--within six songs you have a Kinks ripoff, a rockabilly number, a few classic Green Day songs, and a goddamned Russian waltz complete with a spaghetti Western bridge. Compared to the first half of Nimrod which apart from the inclusion of strings and brass on Hitchin' a Ride and Last Ride In is pretty cohesive.

  21. My current theory is if you play Dos backwards it's just Mike sobbing and Tre whispering "So much cocaine. So. Much. Cocaine..."

  22. So we end the most epic comeback record of all time with Jesus becoming a dirty old man? To be fair it's exactly what happened to Billie.

  23. I hate the production on J.A.R. The drums are incredibly thin and it lacks so much of the power the AAF version has.

  24. Don't really know what there is to dislike about Alligator, it's catchy, loads of fun and is based on a Kinks song and references a Bowie song so it's awesome. Plus the alligator head on a stick and snapping mouth dance move when they play it live . I enjoy it even more because my little nephew loves it, it's his favourite Green Day/Foxboro song. We recently made up some alternative "Crocodile" lyrics for it too

  26. I just recieved my copy of "Nobody Likes You" by Marc Spitz and it says that on that day Billie had to do paperwork regarding his community service for DUI conviction and Tre was in process of divorce, meeting with layers. Mike was left alone in the studio and came up with "nobody likes you" part, and East 12th St is about Billie doing his DUI paperwork cause apparently Oakland police office is there. And we all know about Tres' part. No idea if the whole thing about that particular day is true but it sounds like a nice story.
