American Idiot never gets boring, I've heard the song so many times but it's so cleverly written and extremely important in Green Days career.4 points

I think you'll find that numerous people, Praxus included, have explained their dislike of the Trilogy multiple times. Something you've never done with AI.2 points

Ever heard about a thing called subjectivity? Even though Todd is a dirty hipster, he has a right to his opinion and at least he doesn't call everyone else fake fans2 points

Nope. It's my all time favorite. I love Dookie and Kerplunk and American Idiot. But I'm 16, I relate to 39/Smooth probably a lot better than adults do. And I'm sure I'll outgrow it for that reason, but for now I want to enjoy it while I can.2 points

Can I just say there's nothing wrong with not liking AI and thinking it's not good, based on the music. That's personal preference/opinion. It's just the reasons given (such as not liking AI fans, or claiming that "fuck Bush" was a mainstream thing), and your acting as if other people are at fault for liking it that people are disagreeing with. Just want to point out no one's saying you have to like the album1 point
-
There wasn't a mainstream "Fuck Bush" theme. First off, the only song that's "Fuck Bush" is American Idiot itself, the rest has very little to do with him directly, and only Holiday tangentially related by being anti-war. In 2003 when they were writing it, there wasn't a mainstream "Fuck Bush" theme. Bush was still popular enough to win re-election in 2004. I don't like AI as a song either, but the rest of the album doesn't resemble the opening song in anyway.1 point

I don't really thing the lyrics in the cd booklets for Green Day albums are too accurate, I guess they are made from the lyrics that were written not the lyrics Billie sung. I honest don't know if Billie knows exactly what he sings half the time.1 point

That is insulting and I demand him to be banned Tom I demand justice and swift justice at that1 point

Yeah, if Dos has anything, it is cohesiveness. Or at least, more cohesiveness than Uno or Tre. It's still easily the equal shittiest album Greem Day has done, along with Uno. The best song on it is Lazy Bones, which is probably one of my all-time favourite Green Day songs.1 point
-
I think there's only one Billie. Dos just shows off some of his dark fantasy/mid-life crisis feelings. I like how honest and raw those feelings are, I wouldn't consider it disrespectful to anyone.1 point

Had to read it just to see if anything was wrong . And it was: #3 They weren't "known as Green Day" in 1987 #8 John Lydon said that when American Idiot came out, not Dookie #9 Not sure how the two albums following Dookie going platinum and then the next album not doing so well 6 years after Dookie came out is evidence of hard times "following the breakthrough success of Dookie" #11 Money Money 2020 came out in 2003 #15 That was 21st Century Breakdown not American Idiot #16 They played as Foxboro Hot Tubs before 21st CB not Uno Dos and Tre. The secret shows they played to prep for Uno Dos and Tre were as Green Day Also #2 can be ascertained just by reading #1 and knowing how old the band members are. Poor effort overall, you could find out most of this stuff just reading their Wikipedia page, and it'd be more accurate.1 point

In reference to somebody's post about Chump up there, the lyrics are spectacular. They do not deserve to be lumped in with KYE's. You're the cloud hanging out over my head Hail comes crashing down welting my face MAGIC MAN,EGOCENTRIC PLASTIC MAN Yet you still get one over on me I think they're great.1 point
