I am a “New Green Day fan” at heart considering I became a big fan in 2009. American Idiot and 21st Century Breakdown are their greatest opuses. They set out to beat American Idiot with 21st, and I’ll say that there’s a good chunk of songs on it that do beat certain songs on American Idiot. I’ll usually lean towards American Idiot as being their best album, but if you ask me some days, I’ll say 21st Century Breakdown is better than American Idiot. Although it is too long, the first half of the album is untouchable. But that’s the Green Day conundrum. An album can be too long, but when you break it down song by song, you wouldn’t want to sacrifice any of it. That carried on into the trilogy era.

What's your favorite song off 'Saviors'

Very hard to choose, but I went with Dilemma. I love it when Green Day has heavier, darker guitars, I love how cleverly the song is written, I love how devastatingly honest its message is, and I love Billie’s delivery of “dead man walkING.” My heart dropped the first time I heard him sing like that, it’s incredibly emotional. Honorable mentions are Goodnight Adeline, Suzie Chapstick, and Living in the 20s.

Nimrod is my fav rn it'll be different tomorrow probs
  15. They closed some of the shows with 86 back on the Insomniac tour. I know they closed the show in Melbourne in 1996 with it, they played with such intensity back then and it was an awesome way to finish. And to answer your question, I love the song. Dookie/Insomniac/Nimrod will always be my favourite GD era.

Strange days . My dumbass thought it was a checkbox vote, where you can vote more than one item, so I was clicking multiple songs and I noticed It kept changing, and then I was like "I have to choose ONE."

  22. I love this performance of it
  23. Love this song, from Insomniac, imho the perfect and awesome follow up to Dookie. When GD were '86'ed, or thrown out of Gilman Street, their home away from home, they momentarily wondered if the band and a major label was worth it, but quickly rebounded for this central attack of Insomniac. Billie Joe sets the scene at the door of Gilman, acknowledged in the bratty pre-chorus 'Stand aside and let the next one pass/Don't let the door kick you in the ass,' Billie Joe sings, playing the part of Gilman club owner Tim Yohannan. Though some questioned their punk credibility, most GD fans were enthusiastic about the group's music. It was just that their original fans were harsh. Yohannan took the brunt of GD's aural brutality. (Taken from Green Day on track, by William E. Spevack)
  24. Good underrated song
