  3. Welcome to Rockville is being streamed. The festival is live-streaming the stages via the Danny Wimmer Presents Twitch channel. Additionally, the festival offers live audio and video streams of the performances in their Shaded open-air lounges, according to their website. SiriusXM is also providing live broadcasts from the festival on Octane (Ch. 37) and on a special limited-engagement channel, Rockville Radio, according to their website. That's off of Goggle. Can anyone record any of those options of the show tonight????

    Saviors song meanings for GDA

I've always interpreted as it being about him trying to say good bye to alcoholism, even before discovering just now through your post that the Adeline street in Oakland has a lots of bars and club (before I thought maybe he just associated the Adeline records era of his life, or the people involved in the project, with alcoholism or something) - with this new information now I'm feeling even more convinced about it. The "I'm gonna drink my wine and let it go" being like "I'm gonna have my last drink, and start being sober tomorrow", but then not quite following through (when you're (supposed to be) sober, but you still wake up with a hangover") and knowing that sooner or later he'll have to say goodbye for real. I hadn't considered before he could be saying good bye to an actual person, and that's an interesting interpretation as well, fits with the "I'll see you later when I get my shit together" line too. This reminds me of my good old says writing song meanings for geekstinkbreath.net

I remember seeing a comment about how they only did CI 4 times because it was story tied (or smth like that) yet they still regularly do Jimmy, Are We and Letterbomb which are all tied to AI's story HEAVLY

Agreed on all accounts! Specially how good (and underrated) the 21CB video is.
  7. I recently realised my nephew had never heard this song so I played it to test what he heard in the chorus. Shark 🦈of course

Incredible album! It was the first one I got to anticipate after becoming a fan from American Idiot and it was so much fun being on GDC for it. I still remember waiting for every little hint and speculating about it before there was real social media, and "team A and team B" on here (people who listened when it was released digitally and people who waited longer for the CD ). It was mindblowing hearing it, even bigger and more complex than AI and so worth the wait. Got to see them live the first time for the tour as well with probably their best setlists ever and again it was even more awesome because of getting to meet so many GDCers at the show. I'll always associate the album with the good times being a new member here. I think this is one of their best (and possibly underrated) music videos As well as best show opener ever (watching this video of the crowd always makes me HYPED to see GD live)

I remember when this album came out, so much excitement It's such an amazing album, the song writing is genius as usual, the story line is so good, and so many great songs! Starting with 21st Century Breakdown of course, but also American Eulogy, Peacemaker (one my top 5 GD songs I haven't seen live but would love to do). The tour was amazing too, including the one and only show GD has done in Venezuelan 🥹 Amazing era for the fans, even if it was a tough one for the band. Always great to find a fellow Fancy Sauce fan 😁

Lmao. You don't know how happy it makes me that someone else picked up on that. I still use that phrase all the time and I think of the podcast every time.
  13. I am selling a signed Billie Joe Armstrong Program from the American Idiot Musical on a night in which Billie Joe performed as St. Jimmy at the St. James theater in NYC and much more. I am willing to not list this item if anyone is interested in any part of what I am offering. I would like to get these super cool items into the hands of a true fan and am willing to make a deal. The American Idiot Playbill Program is in excellent shape, and the magazines and spare playbill program, and inserts from the actual play itself are near mint and have been stored away under lock and key as part of my personal Green Day collection since returning home from New York City. The (3) Rolling Stones Magazines range from 2009-2016 and detail the debut of 21st Century Breakdown, the iHeart Radio meltdown and eventual sobering up of BJA and then the release of the Revolution Radio album. The ticket from the St James Theater, in which I used to attend the show in which the item was signed by BJA and 7 cast members remains in excellent shape and was scanned meaning it was never torn or ripped !!! I meant to make an awesome display using the two playbill programs, and the three magazines inserts but never got around to framing it so my loss is your gain. I have decided my collection needs to be thinned out a bit as it's taking up too much space in my home. I also have a in a Pinhead Gunpowder "Unt" poster as well as their new Vinyl relase of "Unt" featuring Billie Joe Armstrong and Jason White of Green Day and will throw in an entire Rudy Can't Fail Menu direct from Emeryville during the time in which Mike Dirnt of Green Day co-owned the restaurant if the offer to buy all or most of this is a good one. Thank you in advance. Please contact me if interested or want to see tons of pictures of these items

Another interview with Billie Joe to add to @solongfromthestars if ok. The American Dream Is Killing Me: In an interview with Ayesha Rascoe of Washington DC-based NPR (National Public Radio) in January 2024, Billie Joe discussed the inspiration for the song. "I think being in California and seeing, like, houseless people just on the street and people without options in life and the cost of living going up, it, like, creates that chaos and depression that is sort of what the song sort of reflects." Billie Joe went to explain why he feels the song needs to be redefined. "It's like the working class has become sort of a service industry, and we're not really giving very many options to people. You know, in the 1970's, my dad was a truck driver. He was a teamster. My mom was a waitress. Six kids in the house, and they were able to afford their own home. But I think now I don't really see that being very feasible for a lot of people." I can't remember reading the following before, so soz if repeated: An overview comment from Billie Joe again from Vulture in January 2024. "We had a large batch of songs that we recorded in London, and when we saw it come together, I remember thinking, 'Oh, this is the connection'. Saviors does fell like a trifecta with Dookie and American Idiot, where it feels like a life's work. I went from not knowing what the hell I was doing, to going, 'Oh gosh, we managed to bridge the gap between those two huge albums'." (both articles taken from The Story of Green Day)

Christian's Inferno needs to replace St. Jimmy for at least a few shows. On another note it took me a bit to realise my post had been turned into a thread and that I hadn't just forgotten I'd done it 😂

I found the slurpee today! I was glad they had the cup in stock but I didn't want that much of the slurpee so I filled up a small cup and put it in the big cup lol. Personally I didn't care for the flavor that much, it didn't taste like grape to me, it kinda tasted like smarties candies (the American version) with a hint of pineapple. Not saying it was bad, just saying it's not for me https://www.instagram.com/p/DJsS-1pu2dB/?igsh=MTBuazR6bjd5aTgyaQ==
