Green Day highlights of 2025 - what was yours?

Definitely all the live shows I went to were a highlight. Getting 86, Waiting, Forever Now, I Was There. The anti-ICE chant during Holiday in Amsterdam was also a highlight, so cathartic. And meeting / seeing again so many great people I have met through this band. Definitely a highlight for me too 😁 It was a really well spent afternoon with great company.

Green Day highlights of 2025 - what was yours?

Making a top #3... 01 Watching Green Day in Santiago, Chile (+ Haushinka live and the ending with Time of your life, it was so emotional) 02 Warning 25th release (I know it's not perfect, but I love this record since it was released in 2000, and it was the first one for me as a fan. When I got my Warning 25 CD copy, it came so many memories from 2000's) 03 Saviors tour anouncement for Southamerica (I was in my B-day day, not a good day at all to be honest, until I watched that tweet with the OEB walking with Southamerican flags at the back... I cried in Chilean Spanish "POR FIN CONCHETUMAREEEE!! which means "Finally, motherf*ckers!!")

    Green Day Fan Art

hi again ... some doodles of kitty billie joe i did this one was from yesterday, when i was trying to cope with whatever the hell i was feeling ... 30 mins for this one! this one was finished just 5 minutes ago. also served as a good lighting practice. i think he looks a bit mildly disturbed here but whatever, can't be bothered to fix it. also 30 mins to draw this he is so joyous ... yes guys, every time i've drawn billie without something obscuring the top of his head, those 2 big spikes on his hair are meant to resemble cat ears. cool, amirite

Thinking about how the song Green Day song Oh Yeah! Is a modern version of the song Do You Wanna Touch Me by Gary Glitter, which was latter covered by Joan Jett.

Every single time you say y'know (and I say it a lot, even before I was into Green Day) you immediatly start thinking about Green Day

I like how the first 3 songs you listened to were all released 15 years apart from the last, covering a good chunk of their discography. Welcome to the fandom!
  16. If I remember correctly Billie said that 21st CB is one of his favorite albums, but that the majority of the songs reminds him of being drunk, tired and having mental problems during that time, and that's why they don't play anything of that reord, besides KYE, 21 guns and Murder City obviously.. I can't see that we're gonna get a new album like this again 😕 I really hope that they go beyond their "comfort zone" and just put out a album with variety, all from acoustic songs to ballads to short and fast songs or anything in between
  17. Another rock opera would be really great. At the beginning of the Saviors era I thought that they release a zombie-themed concept album because of the website, video, and so on. On the other hand I think that 21CB was also the product of Billie's mental state at this time, so I don't expect another album like this ever again (maybe luckily for Billie's health).

    Green Day Q&A Thread

no idea, but there's a good chance it would and wouldnt be. such a large majority of people my age despise the entire father of all album. i know i do, because i can't even listen to the songs unironically without throwing my headphones across the room due to my sensory issues... and i also get mad at stab you in the heart just because of it's recycled use of fuck time and whatnot. a lot of other people also say it just doesn't sound like green day. to me i'd agree mainly in terms of vocals mainly but i see why they say that. i can't hear what billie says in any part of the song despite not having as strong of an accent as he did in insomniac... seriously, i hear his words better in insomniac than in any foamf song. to be honest i've only met one person who likes any part of the album around my age. in the end, there's probably a big group of people who still love it anyways. i wouldn't know.

Do you guys think Father of All will be included on a greatest hits collection when it's time for one?
  28. I would absolutely love something like 21st Century Breakdown again just one more time in their career. The incredible production, the wide variety of instruments and arrangements, Billie Joe's vocal range, etc etc etc. An unbelievable record start to finish. How did that come to be? The band feeling adventurous after American Idiot? Warner/Reprise asking them for an epic follow up to American Idiot? Butch Vig's touch?
