Revolution Radio was ALMOST one of their best albums

Bang Bang is definitely not safe just based on the fact it is from the POV of a mass shooter. That single might be the ballsiest lead single they ever put out there with AI or Geek Stink Breath. That song is also straight fire and has an Insomniac vibe to it. They music video I think was a bit of a let down and played it safe considering they lyrics/context. Still Breathing also is very personal from the POV of Billie’s struggles and lyrically I don’t think plays it safe that’s one of his most honest compositions. Forever now and somewhere now are also pretty honest “My name is Billie and I’m freaking out”. Sound wise maybe parts of the album play it safe but great lyrics. Every album Billie seems to have a deep personal song like Dilemma pretty much all of AI and 21st. Brutal Love and Lazy Bones, Macys Day Parade, 86, No Pride, he’s not afraid to put his heart out there.
  3. In 95 they were touring and MTV streamed a live version of them playing Stuck with Me from Stockholm I think? It had the “spit cam” lol. I suppose they could do the same. I love how on all their MTV VMA performances they don’t always play the “hit single” like when they played Armarage Shanks in 94 instead of Basket Case/Longview/When I Come Around. And Stuck With Me instead of a Dookie track or BrainStew or Geek Stink Breath. They did play Blvd. But that song was EVERYWHERE. After that though East Jesus Nowhere instead of Know Your Enemy or 21 Guns. Then instead of Oh Love they played Let Yourself Go. So if they were to stream a song maybe they’d play an album track/non single or maybe a single but not on of their biggest. Ballyhoo would be cool.
  4. So we think Green Day would re-record songs like at the library or one for the razorbacks? They could or 80 any really but part of me likes the raw sound of those records idk if they would. I kind of think the rawness of the production is a key selling point of those songs. It would be cool to have them updated but part of me wishes they don’t tinker with them.

I’ve made some more but they aren’t Green Day and I haven’t posted them yet! I made a super moody version of Karma Police by Radiohead and included actual thunder noises I was able to capture at my apartment 🤣 I’ll post it soon! Also I plan on making a cover of Redundant soon. Thank you for your interest!

Sadly I've been kinda sick (earlier this year I couldn't go to the Japan shows because of dangerously high blood pressure and just haven't been right since). Also been trying to stay off the internet too. Starting to feel a little more human the last couple of weeks. Hope you're keeping well.

I'll always stand up for Ordinary World. It's in my top 15 GD songs. Like @Tre's Busted Drumkitsaid, it's like an exhale. If they ended on Forever Now, you still have a bunch of adrenaline running through you. Ordinary World allows you to breathe while letting the album come to an end. It's a fitting end to the album.

I have hundreds of magazines still to be photographed or scanned. I'd say a few really old ones but don't remember what's in them any more as they've been boxed up for about 13 years. If I do find it down the line will post but it could be a while

Unfortunately I haven't found any trace of that. But I hope we can get it at some point I wasn't collecting images/photos of magazine clippings before, so I only really have my own archive and some random pictures on my hard drive (but still none fitting your descriptions).

Revolution Radio was ALMOST one of their best albums

Np, I was very confused lol. Context on The Black Parade: I first heard the whole thing in 2015-ish. It’s one of those albums that before I heard it, “Welcome to the Black Parade” was a running joke about emo culture for me. After hearing the whole album, it’s one of the best songs ever. I don’t think the album is quite up to AI or The Wall standards, but it is an underrated all-time great. Yep, “Still Breathing” was originally written for 5 seconds of Summer. Billie Joe decided to rework it into a song for Rev Rad, and it fit perfectly. “Are you scared to death to live?”, is, imo, the best lyric in any Green Day song, full stop. I think Rev Rad is the type of lyrically and musically the type of album that really benefits from a slower closer. “Forever Now” is an amazing song, but it’s a crazy, hectic, all over the map number. Kind of like “American Eulogy” in a lot of ways. Ending the album with it would have felt kind of abrupt to me. Live, it works great when you know there’s an encore on the way. On the album, it needs that slower ballad after it.
